[In the very first second Riku thinks he might be stuck in another nightmare - the way this place is lit by the glow of his own heart, the darkness around him, the draw to some point in the distance... it all reminds him far too much of the Realm of Darkness, even if there isn't even any ground for them to stand on.

But no, if it was then he'd dream of Mickey (if he's lucky) or Ansem (unfortunately much more likely), of their voices at least, and since neither of them is present, but all those that have signed up with him for this are... It stands to question if this is even a dream. Or if it's only just a dream, if it isn't more...

They'll find out soon enough, he supposes, especially if he isn't the only one feeling that pull. Still, he can't help the feeling of-]

Déjà vu, all over again.

This is familiar to you?

*Being somewhere dark with a destination in mind is familiar to him, but this is more than just "dark"... Enoch is drifting to people at random, just to confirm they're there and not dreamed.*

Not this place specifically...

[He's pretty sure at least, this is tower related after all.]

But it reminds me of another place, I once... visited.

[More like 'got trapped in', but there's no reason to go into that right now.]

That knowledge might be useful...if anything strikes you as familiar enough to warn us, do so. Many things can be very similar between worlds, I've found.

Well, that place back home was crawling with Heartless. If you see any yellow glowing eyes, better get ready for a fight.

[Not that Riku really expects to be attacked right now, but well... better safe than sorry.]

Yellow glowing eyes...those would be rather easy to see in a place like this.

*But by that same token, they themselves were glowing too.*

It sounds easy, but it can be surprisingly tricky sometimes.

[Take that from someone, who's been there. But then again...]

Though, I'm almost certain that we won't have to worry about that right now at least.

[So far he is not sensing anything that points towards any Heartless being present anyway.]

It did sound specific, but...it's best to be cautious.

*A pause, as he looks in the direction of that pull.* These Heartless, can they attract a person?

[He pauses a moment, then shakes his head. He can feel the pull and it's nothing he's ever encountered with any Heartless.]

No, they can't. Not like this.

[Rather, it's the other way around with the Heartless.]

So that sensation is likely something else, then. The purpose for which we are here?

Possibly. Or it's a trap.

[Both seems likely and if Riku has learned one thing, then it's that in the tower, being paranoid hardly ever means being wrong.]

[Riku's one of the first familiar - really familiar - faces that she sees, and it's Riku she stumbles towards, measuring every step carefully. She doesn't like not being able to see the floor, but it's not anything that can be helped. At least there seems to be something there.]

Riku?

[She reaches a hand out to grab his, to steady herself and feel the comfort of someone else nearby]

What is this place?

[Since he seems to have something more of an inkling than she did, she hoped.]

[Sora is also sure that this is a nightmare, at first. There was nothing above him, or around him, or beneath him, except for a light coming from somewhere...so he must be falling, right?

In a lot of his bad dreams, except the ones about the islands or the things he had seen in the tower (and sometimes even in those), he was falling. So it made sense.

But after a few seconds, he realized that he could stand, and that there were other people there. So that couldn't be it. Keeping his eyes on the other people around him - because what else was there to look at? - he started walking, quietly relieved that whatever was under their feet hadn't suddenly vanished.

Since he's watching the people around him so intently, it isn't long before he notices Riku and Xion, and without even needing to think about it he heads their way.]

If we're all here, then I guess this isn't a dream, huh?

[Riku moves quickly to catch Xion's hand and reaches forward with his other to place it on her shoulder and stabilize her that way, shooting a small, reassuring smile.]

I'm not sure.

[He lifts his head and turns slightly when he notices Sora approach.]

It's a little too early to say.

[After all, they've been trapped in a dreamspace before, even if it had been made of glamour and memories.]

[Once she's steady, she reaches her other hand out for Sora, relieved to see him there. They were all together, so they could figure this out. She could believe that.]

You think it might be like that time we were trapped in dreams?

[She sounds skeptical, because from what she could remember, their dream experiences had all been separate. While this was definitely all together]

[He takes Xion's hand and smiles, relieved that, whatever was going on, they were all there. He takes a second to think, taking another look around...not that there was much to look at.]

I don't know...this seems different.

[Then again, he had been on the outside looking in when that had happened. So who knows?]

[He lets go and takes a small step back once Xion is steady and Sora has joined them, arms crossing over his chest as he thinks.]

It's definitely not the same as back then, but... there might be some similarities. I don't think we are back at the Tower either, at least.

[This Riku's reminded less of the Realm of Darkness and more of that dreamspace incident well over a year ago, though in the back of his mind, he still recalls the Endless Abyss and its never ending black void. After enduring nightmares, even pain, he's moving a bit sluggishly, with his arms wrapped around his chest not in his usual confident manner, but in an almost defensive position...

A position he drops the moment he spots his double.]

Well, I'd take an empty black space over nightmares, at any rate.

[Riku turns, smirking faintly, almost sardonically.]

I'd too, but I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop.

[This seems too quiet, too peaceful, too innocent. Surely, there is something else awaiting them still.]

Oh, sure. There's always gotta be a catch.

[And in spite of the circumstances, he smirks at the thought. This whole void business is almost too tame for the tower.]

This is probably just the calm before the storm. Maybe Riki thought we all needed a breather.

It wouldn't be the tower otherwise, right?

[...They've really both been here too long already, he thinks for a moment and then shakes the thought again - there are only so many alternatives, and none of them are really all that appealing.]

I'll be glad if that's all there is to it.

[Even though he doesn't really believe it.]

Well, we won't know by staying here. The way I see it, we can either float around in this limbo for a while, or take our chances and push forward.

[He's leaning towards the latter because, really? He'd take a horror tower over endless darkness. Riku's seen enough darkness to last a lifetime.]

Forward is the only way to go, huh?

[As per usual.

There really is never any other way for them to take here in the tower, there is nowhere to run, no way out. There is only going forward, with iron resolve and unwavering heart - and the ever bright believe that they will find a way to restore their homes to what they used to be.]

Hey, if anything bad happens, I think we can take it.

[He snorts, throwing his shoulders back and grinning in an attempt at feigned confidence.]

We're both seasoned Keybearers by now. If I were some kind of monster, I'd take off with my tail between my legs just at the sight of us.

[He nods and laughs softly, mirroring that grin.]

Too bad that most monsters aren't that smart. They must be a pretty near-sighted lot.
