Hammer to Fall

Characters: Fawkes and you!
Setting: Floor Fifteen - Workshop, daytime
Format: Starting in prose, will match.
Summary: Fawkes grows tired of being unarmed, and goes to rectify this.
Warnings: Workin' in a workshop?

Between the various incidents that have gone on since he's been here, Fawkes has determined that this place, like the Capital Wasteland, seems like it will require a more violent approach - especially with the newer residents - namely, the monsters.

Lacking his weapons from home, the best thing to do in a situation like this is improvise.

Fawkes is currently rooting around the workshop for tools and parts he can use to craft a bludgeon of some sort - one of the tables has broken and warped metal bedframe pieces spread upon it.

...kind of a pity that the majority of these tools are sized for smaller hands than Fawkes', but he'll attempt to make do.

"Meta-human?"

That sounded both cool and confusing all at once! Echidna wasn't so sure she was willing to come out from under the table just yet even though he seemed friendly, but she did take a seat more calmly and looked up at him. Luckily she had no idea what he was doing with those metal pieces above her head. "What's that?"
metawoof: (oh noooo ammy oh noooo)

"Mutated?!" Whoah. That was both cool and horrible all at once. She had heard plenty about the consequences of radiation in some of her classes and they did not some pleasant. Unless it was adaptive mutation, but that definitely didn't look like an adaptive mutation.

"--Oh!" Echidna looked up and quickly shuffled out from under the table, standing on the opposite side of it from Fawkes. "Um, are you...OK and stuff...?"
metawoof: (er...well...!! i don't know.....)

"O-Oh, wow." She frowned slightly. "I'm sorry for bringing it up." Now she'll...just kind of fiddle with the edge of her sleeve awkwardly for a minute.

She watched him hammer for a minute, doing as he did and talking in between the hammer strikes. "At least it is not too bad though! You kind of remind me of those one guys from one of the games I played with my friend back home."
metawoof: (did you know alpha centauri is a binary)

Oh a chance to talk about something less awkward, marvelous! "Yeah, a game! Like a video game. You play it on the TV with a special system and you use a special controller to control the actions of the character." She mimed holding a controller and moving the joysticks and pushing buttons with her hands.

"It is really fun! The one I played with my friend is about a post-apocalyptic America with radiation and mutants and stuff."
metawoof: (oh hell yes!)

"Simulation chambers? Are they like virtual reality or something??" Soooo coooool! Yep she's not that afraid of Fawkes anymore, she's just really interested in about everything he's saying.

"--Oh, really?" And that was even cooler. Though in retrospect, that might be why this guy was some kind of mutant himself. "Do you live in a wasteland too then? Is there some kind of crazy environmentalist movement and fallout shelter societies?"
metawoof: (next time let us not date the boy with s)

"There might not be much of an environment left, but that does not mean there are not people that would want to try and bring it back!" She stated simply with a nod.

"--Oh, vaults! That is what they are called!" Echidna was about to go on happily theorizing and comparing the similarities, but she stopped a moment, and frowned. "Oh no, why were they banished? You were from one of them and you still turned into a mutant thing?"
metawoof: (u-uh oh w-well...!!!)

[personal profile] metawoof 2012-02-15 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
"Aaw, I do not believe that! There is always theories of total nuclear destruction and all that stuff, but I think with some work you can still fix the environment! Especially since I think not all of the world got totally destroyed." Oops she was rambling again, but she sadly didn't remember anything about Oasis either. Should'a played Fallout 3.

At the latter part though, she frowned. "I would have thought the people were supposed to protect people though. Why did you get turned into a mutant?"
metawoof: (i am so sorry i did not mean to....!!)

[personal profile] metawoof 2012-02-20 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh now she's, frowning. Definitely frowning. "These Vaults do not sound like they worked out for their intended purposes. Then again I guess a lot of plots like that never work out if there's super nuclear fallout or something going on."

She looked like she wanted to keep asking about stuff but uh...yeah this conversation topic, she was not sure how much fun it was for Fawkes to actually talk about. So she kept her mouth shut for now.
metawoof: (bang bang!!!)

At that, Echidna gave a giggle. "All my friend showed me was how to mix a martini on the rocks," She joked, but nevertheless looked up at Fawkes with a smile. "That does sound really cool though. I mean your world doesn't sound that happy or anything, but it's proof that humanity is still tough even though we're not cockroaches or bears or something. And that's awesome."
metawoof: (what am i looking aaat)

[personal profile] metawoof 2012-03-01 07:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Huh. More animals survived the nuclear apocalypse than she thought!

"Roaches make sense, since everyone always says that they'll survive World War 3 or something. Bears are just evil I think. They're like the number 4 threat to human society or something."

Yup.
