❝So hand me that remote❞
Characters: Willow (
guiltapalooza) and you! OPEN.
Setting: The media level.
Format: Action tags preferably, but I can prose if you wish!
Summary: Willow has way more free time than she's used to, especially without school to be a perfectionist over. She finds herself watching a lot of movies. Feel free to make multi-character threads and join existing ones, by the way!
Warnings: None.
[At the moment Willow is watching Zombieland, a movie right up her alley but from several years past her time, so she'd never had a chance to see it before. She's sitting on a couch across from the TV, hand in a bowl of chips and giggling periodically.
On the screen, there's a college-aged boy with poofy, curly hair running hurriedly away from a zombie co-ed with a broken ankle.] You just can't trust anyone, [says the narration.] The first girl I let into my life and she tries to eat me.
[Goddess, does that remind her of Xander. For once it's a happy reminder, though, and she practically chokes on some chips laughing at it. Him and that preying mantis teacher...
Follow the sounds of giggling and come interrupt her?]

oh my god that's adorable slkjdfkljsdf He's probably had to in the past... damn animal communion...
Yes, I know. [Little smile] How is that uh... going for you... since we are, on the subject of romance. [Did you know your matesprit is a seadweller? He's trying really hard not to judge but... seadwellers, Willow]
HAHAHA i didn't even think of that. that is adorable. xDD
Um. Great? [she says tentatively, as if she's not sure it could be true. A somewhat dopey smile starts to flicker over her face as soon as she says that, though, and she sighs, settling deeper into the couch.]
He's so romantic, and sweet. I have a ring now, did you see? [She holds up her right hand, and sure enough, there's a ring with a tiny, polished piece of purple coral in the shape of a heart.] I have to make him one. Well, not have to, but I want to.
It's all a little unreal.
hehehehsldkjfsdflj poor man fff
Yes, I uh... would think, being with an alien would be... a little strange for you both. [...lets her hand go, and meets her eyes again. Forever curious about how they're even making this be a thing tbh]
The stone is, supposed to be your... blood color...? Are you uh, sure he will wear it? [Oh is his seadweller grudgewank showing... whoops]
the burden of working with animals
It is strange, but we'll get used to it. But I don't see why wouldn't he wear--
Oh, because red is low for you? [Frowning at the implication, but Willow can't deny that the Summoner has a point.] I'm sure someone like Orphaner Dualscar would refuse, but Eridan isn't like that. For one thing, seadwellers are on the bottom, not the top, in his world.
He doesn't even care that I'm an alien and a crazy magic-user and overemotional. Even if he did care about blood color to start with, which he doesn't, I think we're beyond that now.
sighs yep... at least he enjoys it
Did he uh... ever tell you, how the hemospectrum got reversed, in his world?
he's a qt
[The words themselves are assertive, but Willow says it all matter-of-factly, still frowning just slightly. She doesn't know why it's interesting to him, and she doesn't want to push him anymore. It seems... like it means a lot to him.]
I know Aradia is the Empress there, though.
sobs... Willow no............
I uh... wish I could be so lucky, as to forget it was even a thing. [Stares... a second longer, and then turns back to the movie. Gonna munch on chips and try to pretend that didn't just happen 8T]
excuse me X( X(
I get that you can't escape it, but I'm not going to perpetuate it. You don't deserve it; no one deserves it.
I wish it could be stopped altogether, and I'm starting with myself.
oh nooooo
[Shrugs! Though he still doesn't look at her. Damn aliens... Hard enough to find people who get it amongst other lowbloods much less people who didn't even know about it till recently] It is not, really your fight though. So I guess, I understand why you... want to say it's not a thing.
.... oops have a speech :|;;
I fought His Purpleness over it and I'd fight anyone else who thought it was an excuse to hurt someone. I've spent the last seven years protecting anyone that needed it, no matter who or what they are. Summoner, I was fighting this fight, maybe not this exactly but something like it, before I could do more than throw rocks at demons.
But I've learned something from all that fighting. Sometimes, very occasionally... those demons are the best allies you can have, and sometimes they can become your friends.
Do you get what I'm trying to say?
mmm delicious ('8
I suppose, you mean to say that... highbloods deserve a chance to prove themselves? [Shakes his head a little. That is not even what he was annoyed about at all Willow!!]
While I, appreciate you fighting the Highblood, if he was being a bulgelicker to someone, I think maybe I uh, wasn't clear. You cannot say, you could care less about blood color, or that you would forget if we didn't remind you. That is actually pretty offensive...! [Trying not... to be annoyed or anything, just... earnest. This is the way things are for them] I am who I am, because my blood is brown. The same is true of your, matesprit, even if the hemospectrum is reversed for him. It might not uh, be something he talks about, and to be honest, if he is treated as a lowblood, I am not sure I can blame him, but that doesn't mean it's not, there.

[Yeah, she can get that. When it's put that way... Willow pulls her knees up to her chest and wraps her arms around them, suddenly all of her uncertainty and sadness showing through.] I just don't want anyone to get hurt. I'm tired of watching them get hurt, you know? I-- I know it's naive.
no subject
[Reaches over and... touches her shoulder after a second, not sure what to do with her all of a sudden...]
I do not know about anyone else, but you have uh, done more to keep me from hurting... then anyone else I've ever met. So maybe it is a good kind of naive. If it lets you, help people so willingly...
/showers you with edits
She glances up at the touch to her shoulder and summons up a smile for him, reassured to be told that she'd helped him so much. She was always so worried that she was messing up and hurting people again, or intruding where she wasn't wanted. However bossy she could be, it was partially an affectation, an overflowing of feelings she'd kept to herself for too long.]
I do what I can. You just-- don't deserve to be hurt. Most people don't. [Not no one, definitely not no one. She isn't immune to pettiness, jealousy, or vengeance.] I'm sorry if I offended you earlier. I was really just trying to say... that I don't care if you're a brown-blooded troll or a-- a noodle. I'd still feel the same way about you.
But I get if it's important to who you are. I'll try to remember that.
washes happily
Thank you. For uh, trying to understand. I know it, is probably a strange thing for you...
no subject
It is pretty strange, but I'll figure it out, [she says, pushing herself to be lighter and more confident.] I'll just explain human family relationships to you sometimes and you can share the confusion.
no subject
I have uh... had some of it explained... I am not sure I want to know more. [You grow your wigglers inside you. That is incredibly gross!!!!]
no subject
See those two girls on the screen? They're sisters.
no subject
[Now he's squinting at her. Please... stop.........]
no subject
at least not right nowso she blithely explains.]It means they were born from the same parents. Um, the same genetic donors? Who raised them and they grew up together. It's a really strong bond most of the time.
no subject
So. Humans can uh... have more then one wiggler? Inside them? [Cause that really feels like a thing that should kill them...] Also, why would they. Have more then one? Isn't... one wiggler enough to raise? Lusus don't... try to raise more then one... [...thinking about what Romeo had said that one time] Is that why, parents leave sometimes...? Because they can't, deal with multiple wigglers?
[QUESTIONS!!!]
no subject
Well... yeah, women can have more than one inside them when they're pregnant, but that's pretty uncommon. Humans just have a lot of kids. The average is two or three per couple in America, but in some countries they'll have eight or nine.
But parents don't leave because of that! [She rushes to correct his assumption, as if it's offensive to some parents lurking behind a couch behind them or something.] Most parents don't... leave at all. When you have a big family, everyone helps take care of each other, anyway.
Family is supposed to be loyal to each other above anyone else. The expression is that blood is thicker than water, and family is who you're blood-related to. Not that that's held up that well for me, personally.
no subject
[Okay he's just going to kind of... desperately cling to the last thing she said there, and hope she doesn't insist on coming back to this subject]
What uh... has happened with you...? And your... uh... family...?
no subject
she means you, Xander, so Willow switches subject easily.Even if she is far from keen to discuss her own family. She gains a kind of embarrassed smile, hiding any associated hurt easily from long practice.] Um... not much has happened. I don't have any siblings or anything. My parents worry about me a lot, but they're, well, they're pretty busy. I see them for holidays sometimes, and they give me their opinion on my life.
[Willow shrugs.] My friends are really my family. It's... not supposed to be like that, but I'm happy this way.
no subject
Why... don't they talk to you...? Aren't they, supposed to take care of you?
