04. upon thyself thy beauty's legacy

Summary: England is having a teatime picnic. It's long overdue. Threadjacking is okay and welcomed! Join an existing thread and make it a tea party or make a new thread.
Warnings: Probably language since it's England. Also possibly threadjacking, so just say in the subject if you don't want that!

[So there is no fancy garden table and chairs or quaint little sitting room, but the innocuous spring floor is almost as nice. He's laid out a length of cloth snatched from the workshop floor to act as a makeshift blanket, and has a teaset out, with a full pot of tea, multiple cups, and sugar. No milk or honey, due to the restrictions of the Tower's kitchen, but he can deal.

And he's actually smiling a little. Do you dare risk disrupting him in this almost fugue-like state?

Of course you do, he's just a silly grump with pretty plates and big eyebrows. Come join him for tea.]

[Man, has it been forever since she was confronted with a real gentleman. No, really, forever. Of course that's what one gets when living life on the fringes more often than not. And of course she's totally not blushing or pretending she's seen a highly interesting butterfly off to the side.

No way. She's too cool for that kind of junk.]

Tea, huh? I guess you'd be due for it, especially after all the crazy stuff that's happened recently.

[It's been a while since she's actually sat anywhere, not just hovered but actually settled her butt somewhere, and that it's the ground would be all the more surprising to anyone who knew her back home, but there she is.]

I dunno if I can drink any but I'll keep ya company at least. If it's got red in it I should be able to handle it though.

[Stress reliever huh? Sorta like how music can be for her. That's something she can respect, and understand. Marceline's willing to give this a shot.]

Yeah, that's it exactly. It's pretty tasty.

[In the sunlight the tea looks kinda red brown, so maybe... She's pretty careful about reaching for stuff, the sunhat only does so much.]

[There's a genuine smile on her face, and the faintest of blushes, as England hands her the teacup. And really, Marceline has no problems with the curiosity. It's a nice change from the automatic assumption that vampires=bloodthisty.]

Yep. It opens up a lot of food choices, otherwise I'd be stuck to one thing.

[She's careful to just let the tea touch her fangs- no sense in going further if she can't have it. Just enough to work though, so that's excellent.]

[Marceline shrugs- it's everyday for her, but for as much as she knows about it might as well ask why gravity works the way it does. To be frank, she hasn't got a clue why it works. And she's not ashamed of the fact.]

It works, at least. As long as it gets me fed without much trouble it's no big deal whether I know how it works or not. [She grins.] This is pretty good, man.

[It's graying, and Marceline looks at the tea in interest. This isn't something that happens too often, more of another color muddling into the fading red.]

Suddenly, Fawkes!

[personal profile] lucidmutant 2012-02-02 08:40 am (UTC)(link)
[Fawkes' usual heavy footsteps are rather muffled by the nature of the meadow - comparatively soft ground and grass - grass that isn't dead is rather strange to him. As is people sitting on a blanket and drinking in the midst of things.]

[Isn't one of those two one of his roommates? He plods over closer to see, making not inclinations toward being quiet or stealthy in the least.]

[Marceline's hand is on her axe in no time, her usual caution on more than hair-trigger alert due to the monsters in the halls and the weirdness that's happened lately. She doesn't know the big guy- and though she wants to ask what witch got hold of him she keeps her peace when she notices England calm down. He knows him, and apparently trusts him NOT to hurt him, that's enough for Marceline to take her hand off her axe.

She shoots a grin at both the newcomer and to England.]
Hey, it's your tea party, doesn't bother me a bit.
lucidmutant: (...was that a Deathclaw?)

[personal profile] lucidmutant 2012-02-09 11:04 am (UTC)(link)
[Those reactions don't go unnoticed, but Fawkes does not blame them in the least. Once he gets close, he looks at the spread, then nods to England.]

I do not see why not. Though, I must admit some curiosity as to why one would choose to do such a thing in such a place.

[Regardless, he sits down with a grunt, then turns to Marceline.] I do not believe we have met, miss. I am Fawkes.

[Marceline's pretty impressed; the new guy is rather polite too, even if he looks like he's seen the rougher side of things.

Not that that's out of the question in the tower anyway, but that's not the point. This time she waves as well.]

Marceline. 'Sup?

lucidmutant: (I'M HUGE)

[personal profile] lucidmutant 2012-02-19 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
Mmmn. You have a point, given that other large fellow in our room. [Fawkes nods at England, and once the cup is poured, he takes it - carefully, though.]

Thank you.

[He turns to Marceline for the moment, then looks out at the area.] I am finding this particular floor to be rather odd... Though oddities here are common, it seems.
