[OPEN] and then it just kept getting worse
characters: (jade!) Eridan Ampora and anyone willing to be subjected to movies, self-pity and shrugging.
setting: floor 14 - the media room
format: starting with action, but I'll match your preference
summary: Eridan has found heaven, aka, somewhere to watch movies and forget his life sucks quite as much as it does.
warnings: pity-party? Will add more as necessary.
[After making himself scarce for a bit, trying to get a hold of everything going onand finally finish untangling his goddamn reels, Eridan's wandering around the Tower landed him somewhere he almost dare hope wouldn't suck too much. He wasn't sure he wanted to tempt fate and ask how it could suck: there were movies he had never watched there. So after making sure he wasn't going to run into someone he didn't want to, he curled up in a beanbag chair and set up to demolish a pile of movies until he either felt better, the world stopped sucking, or he forgot he felt like shit because the world sucked.
If you enter the media room, you'll find his horns the most recognizable part of his silhouette against the screen where something vaguely violent but definitely adventurous is going on. He's folded his knees to his chest, resting his chin on his knees, and seems completely absorbed by the narrative trying hard to be heard over the explosions and Really Fucking Cool Shit going on in the movie.
Pester?]

[He fidgets a moment, quietly turning back to the movie. And then,]
Ah, I didn't knoww you liked movvies.
[...smooth, Ampora. Smooth.
no subject
Well, it depends on the movie. But yeah, I do.

[Excuse Eridan while he gives you a look of pure admiration, before he picks up his jaw and turns back to watch the movie and not give you weird looks like a creep.
Again, smooth, Ampora.]

So what made you pick this one?
no subject
[He shrugs a bit.]
I'vve nevver wwatched any of these before.
no subject
[Because she's half-way in and confused and she wants to know how it starts but asking him to rewind is rude]

[A sigh.]
Human titles are misleading.

[And if to prove the point, the scene in the screen shows a handful of doubles and mooks getting axed.]
It's a game of luck, wwith these titles, I guess.

[As she watches, clearly fascinated]
I wonder what they do with the bodies. Humans don't really strike me as the sort to just leave them lying around like we do.

[Eridan sounded vaguely confused by the notion. You see, Jade didn't exactly explain best about this whole human death culture thing.]
Or they burn them. Or they burn them first an bury them later. Somethin like that.

[Eridan snorted, as more people died on the screen in a lovely display of ironic timing.]
They seem to leave it all just to fiction. I guess if you're not used to it, death is kind a huge deal.
[Oh, who is he kidding, death is still a big deal for him, especially for those close to him.]

I guess so. I suppose it seems safer to them to explore it through something that isn't real. After all, it's not like they have kismesis to help them get the violence out of their system.
no subject
I... guess. It's just weird, for a culture that has platonic hate dowwn to a science.

[Eridan leans back on his beanchair, staring at the violence in the screen.]
They're not really... hateable either. Kind a.
no subject
I know what you mean. They're easier to be apathetic about, if they're not likeable enough to be liked.
no subject
[Eridan snorts.]
But I don't even think they're doin it on purpose so it doesn't matter. It's kind a stupid.
