Setting: Room 1-18 and both dorm floors.
Format: Either or!
Summary: Link freaks out and then freaks out a little more.
Warnings: None I think; will change if it happens?

[Room 1-18 and probably the hallway too.]

[Of all the ways Link has woken up before, this had to be the worst. First was the sleep paralysis; that gave him a good spook, since it's definitely never happened before. Only thing that equals paralysis in his mind are those stupid Redeads - but after gaining movement again, he already checked the room for those.
Thank goodness there aren't any. Yet.

But second was realizing, hey, this definitely is not anywhere he remembers being. Definitely, definitely not. This place is too... fake feeling to be anywhere on the Great Sea. So of course, he got up to check the room out.

And that's when he noticed the third thing - that collar clamped around his neck. Oh, this ain't good, no sir; it feels like something evil, and just looking at what he can see of it gives him a little bit of the heebie jeebies. Which means it must come off, and now.

So if you pass by that room or are lucky enough to be in it, you may or may not find Link with his back to the floor, hands clasped on what he can grab of the collar, and his little legs scooting him backwards across the ground like he expects it to help. It's probably pretty dumb looking.]

[Around the dorm areas.]

[Later, of course, is time for a little exploration; he's grabbed all he can carry out of his trunk, and he's making his way around to try and find the door outta here - which in his logic means "go around and open every door you find". So feel free to notice the little nine year old hero peeking his head into your room, there.]

... There's a sea of sand?

[WHOAH, WHAT.]

... No, you've got to be joking. All there ever has been for years is the Great Sea, with lots of islands spread around it!

Everything else is underwater.

There's a whole desert. And a forest, and a volcano.

[He grins.]

But the best place of all is the land of which I was born on. Skyloft. It resides far, far up into the sky.

No, deserts don't exist... At least, not where I'm from!

And how can you live in the sky? There's nothing up there.

[He's starting to think you're pulling his leg, Link.]

You know, I used to think the same about below the clouds.

"How could anyone live below us? There's nothing down there."

[cantstopme]

[He goes quiet then, contemplating that.]

... I guess it's kind of like us and Hyrule...
Everything was underwater, so we thought there's nothing really important down there, when there was a whole kingdom.

But you have to be joking about deserts - there's no such thing anymore.
I've never even seen a pictograph of a desert.

Well there's nowhere called "Hyrule" where I live and I haven't seen a picture of it so there's no such thing,

Well... maybe there isn't!

[HUFF.]

You said something about time, right? You could be from the past, when there was no such thing, you know?

[You can't be from the future though, since he and Tetra were going to go make New Hyrule. >8( ]]

How far in the past am I though?

Way far back! Maybe...

[wait, his little boy brain is coming up with a story for you --]

Maybe you were the first hero. Yeah - and that's why you're just a hero, instead of a hero of something like me and the Hero of Time!

And that's why there's no Hyrule, either. You're just too far back, mhm.

[He blinks. That actually..... sounded plausible.]

But if I am the first hero then...


...wouldn't someone remember my legend?

[He goes quiet then, his face going a little sad.]

... Maybe you're just too far back.

Some people don't even remember the Hero of Time anymore...

[He thinks about that for a second before smiling.]


Aww, I don't need to be remembered. I'm happy with the knowledge that I saved everyone's lives.

[Well. Now they were all dead supposedly but he'll just. Not believe that they are.]

... I guess. But it'd be nice to remember sometime.

[He thinks a bit then, before smiling.]

Well, uh... I'll remember you.

[His grin grows a little wider and he ruffles his hair again.]

And I'll remember you.

[He nods then, feeling like his little brother or something, and can't help wondering: is this what Aryll feels like?




Which is a bad thing to think about, because if he remembers from the letters... Aryll's kind of...

Well, needless to say, he's going to look at his feet as his eyes well up a bit and his lip trembles.]

[Link blinks a few times and then notices the water works and makes a small shocked noise like OH GOD HE'S CRYING WHAT DID I DO

He's going to...

uh....

...offer a hug?]

[Oh, he'll take it, no worries - burrowing his face into the other's shoulder and everything.]

Do you... Do you think our worlds are really...?

[Oh.


He. Didn't really want to think about that after he read that letter. He looks to the side and stays quiet for a moment.]


...I don't know. I don't want to believe they are until we get more proof then a letter but...

I don't want them to be... I want to think Aryll and Grandma are ok.

[They're his only family left, aside from Tetra, in a way...]

Aryll?

[He knew what a grandma was but he was curious about the other.]

She's my little sister...

[He wipes his eyes on his sleeve then, letting go of the other a bit.]

She can be annoying, but I love her, you know? She's been my best friend ever since we were little.

I don't want to believe she's gone... I don't believe those letters at all.

Not all letters tell the truth.

[He'd know; he's delivered mail before.]

[Oh, Aryll was his sister. Link didn't have any family but he could relate to lil' Link in a way. Zelda was like a sister to him and also his best friend and he felt a deep pain whenever he thought about how she could be dead...

He gives Wind Waker a big ol' bear hug and then places his hand on his head.]

I'm sure she's alright.

[cantstopme]

[He gives a little sniffle then, but nods; trying to steel himself a bit in the process.
He's a hero, after all; Aryll would laugh at him if she found out he had been crying, and he'd never hear the end of it from Tetra.]

Yeah. Maybe... maybe she'll come here. And the others, too.

Yeah. And then we wouldn't have to worry about anything anymore.

[cantstopme]

Right!

[He smiles a bit then, hesitates, and then hugs the other's arm.

Might as well give him some kind of thanks for that.]
