Characters: orphaner dualscar (
orphans) and whoever!
Setting: the dormitory floor or cafeteria; any of the stairs in between
Format: starting with action, but i'll match
Summary: dualscar deals with his curse. or rather, doesn't.
Warnings: innuendo, language, the ability to use this icon icly, and general hideousness
[it was pretty easy to tell something was blatantly askew with him; thus, avoidance of the majority of the tower's floors for sometime. but that newly and mysterious acquired feeling of benevolence towards his peers? the seemingly inherent need to good? to keep peace? the come-ons, ones that would even make his fins curl with distaste, that would tumble from his mouth nigh every time he dared open it?
it was beginning to make him physically sick.
he was hoping this to be just another trick of the tower. though upon noticing no one else seemed to be afflicated as he was, the seclusion had began. however, he can't survive forever in such-- it's actually relatively easy to catch him rushing through hallways, up stairwells, or hurriedly finishing a bowl of oatmeal at a lone table.
feel free to say hi. the orphaner actually won't bite this time.]

Watch where you're going!
[she is so stern. this is the voice of the law.]

but, nope. he pauses midstep, turning to look back down to her. note how it's "to", and not "at".]
I... apologize.
no subject
Ah. [a beat.] Apology accepted. Try to be more careful in the future.
[because what the hell, she might as well go the whole nine yards with the legislacerator thing since she started and he didn't bite her head off.]

Wait, a troll.
An adult troll.
An adult sea troll.
One moment, Dualscar, she's processing this.* I didn't think there were any grown trolls around anemonemore!

his cape agitates about his ankles as he comes to a halt, and only surveys her.]
Why? Because 'a that game?

But before that, Her Imperial Purrfection banished all of them from Alternia. It's only the young ones there now!

I beg your pardon?

Like something's on your... [she trails off. now that she has a good look at him-- wow. he looks just like Eridan, but older. scarred. the horns and the structure of his face is unmistakable, though.] Um.

[Chidori settles imperiously across from him, a tray of something that probably smells fucking delicious in her hands. She raises a brow and leans sideways on one hand, picking up a pair of chopsticks with the other.]
I would think you'd eat more.
[At least, taking his size into consideration, she would.
no subject
[also wow calling him fat, chidori?? rude. one would think the statement would come off as rather short, but it's only a statement of fact. he sets his spoon down, glancing to her food and then to make eye contact with her once more.]
I've been attemptin' to avoid most 'a the populace, but it's proven quite... problematic.
no subject
[She is doing no such thing- you're a presumably grown man, Orphaner. She presumes you'd eat even more than her boys, and they eat a lot. She looks up at him, chopsticks raised partway to her mouth, and raised a brow curiously.]
Why is that?
no subject
[jesus fucking christ he can't. no, that was not a legit pause there, it's just time for some unneeded introspection okay. he looks... pained, to say the least. like, as in the contents of this confession have literally been tearing him apart for the past few days.
or that might be just some of his usual melodrama. your pick.]
I feel averse to the idea 'a violence.

Still, starvation is not the answer he does sneak out for food every so often. One such occasion, holding a plate of waffles and getting ready to scurry back upstairs... he happened to run into the troll he'd been trying his damn hardest to avoid in the first place.
Literally.
Eridan stumbled back and only by a strange contortion managed to save his plate and his waffles from falling to the ground.]
I'm so--
[And then he realized who he had run into. The plate fell this time, and he made no attempt to save it as he gave a step back, unconsciously baring his teeth in the process.]
no subject
instead of the usual rage he would feel at such a happenstance, in the face of such a troll, he... doesn't. the emotion itself is oddly detached , as if looking at it through a veil. but his eyebrows actually knit together in concern for a fraction of a second, before his expression turns rather passive once more.
he bends quickly to retrieve the plate. not even bothered by the remnants of the meal on his nice boots, fancy that! and, holding it out to eridan--]
You dropped this.
[as if he hadn't committed a brutal act of violence towards him not even a week prior.]
no subject
Fuck that voice, he refuses to have nightmares about it.
Really.
Just. Hang in there, okay. Holding out the plate. While Eridan stares and tries desperately to reboot his brain and does he howl in rightful, angry hate or does he just flat out whimper in fear fuck this shit this is hard.]
no subject
either way, the plate remains out for eridan to take hold when he's ready. he'd smile in what is supposed to be a comforting manner, but he's fortunately not that far gone. well, slightly. anyway, he wants to ask if there's something wrong, so:]
I wish you were a door, so I could slam you all day long.

Learn anything yet? [she asks evenly.]
no subject
because sure, he's learned a lot in the past few days.]
In regards to what?
no subject
In regards to how you shouldn't treat people, [she says smoothly.] Your whole sudden empathy thing, that was me. I just threw in the bad pick up lines for bonus humiliation.
no subject
also, magic doesn't exist. his eyebrows raise a fraction. so how she could have gone about doing that--]
