Setting: Dormitory floors, later cafeteria

Summary: Dawn's just woken up and she's not taking this well.
Warnings: None yet

The first indication of this new arrival in the tower is a loud, high pitched scream as Dawn finds the initial sleep paralysis wearing off and falls out of her bed, having been mentally struggling uselessly against whatever had been holding her but suddenly no longer is.

She picks herself up, gazing around the unfamiliar room before her eyes fall on the letter. She takes one look at it and runs from the room, not caring that she's still in the white bodysuit she woke up in and not noticing the trunk at the foot of her bed.

Around the dormitories, therefore, there is a teenage girl running around calling out a single name: Buffy. Finding her now means finding her in a frantic, panicked state because she has no idea what's going on right now.

Later, however, you might find her in the cafeteria, dressed in her own clothes now and sullenly poking at a bowl of oatmeal.

Well, that sound can't be good. Once Eiji hears the scream, he's hoofing it down the hall as fast as he can muster, skidding to a stop once the girl is out in the hall. He raises his hands, and tries to look as non-threatening as he can. "Hey, hey - calm down!"

Dawn skids to a stop, eyes wide as she sees the stranger in front of her. There are so many things she wants to ask, so many things she knows she should figure out but there's only one question that she seems to be able to focus on now.

"Have you seen my sister?"

"I... might have," he answers, though the look of awkward apprehension he has in saying it obvious. He wants to be hopeful, but hope always has that chance of not panning out.

"I don't know anyone named Buffy, but there's a lot of people here that I don't know very well, so..." A pause. "Assuming that your sister is the person you were just calling out for, that is."

She nods, making no effort to disguise that she's very plainly scanning the corridors all around them, just in case.

"She has to be here. She can't not be, that wouldn't make sense. It wouldn't be fair."

That initial scream garnered a startled yelp of its own as Echidna was walking through the hallways to approach her room. When the girl still clad in the white bodysuit rushed out however, Echidna dodged out of the way as she ran past, before taking a moment to think and taking a few steps after Dawn and calling for her from down the hallway.

"W-Wait! Hey!!"

Dawn stops and turns sharply, too panicked to really take in much about the person in front of her.

"I have to find my sister. She'll know what to do."

"U-Uh--" Yeesh, Echidna was getting mentally flipped around just by this girl panicking. She did take some more steps to come closer though, since she at least stopped. "Who is your sister? I do not know everyone here but if she is here maybe I can help you...?"

Dawn paces a little, unable to keep still.

"My sister, Buffy. Is she here? She has to be here, it wouldn't make sense for her not to be."

She watched her pace, a bit at a loss of how to help with that. So she just, kind of stood their dumbly and frowned.

"Buffy? I do not think I have heard of her, but she might be? Why wouldn't it make sense for her to not be here?"

"Because she can't be gone again."

There's a fierce determination in her tone, perhaps overly determined for her not having a clue about where she is or what's going on but she knows she can't focus on that until she's found her sister - or failing that, someone else she knows but she's less concerned about that for now.

Eiji swallows, then draws a heavy breath, knowing that more than likely, things are going to be very unfair. However, he'll try to remain optimistic. There's a lot of other people here that have their close friends, or even family. And he has Ankh and the Detective here, so...

"Well, we won't know until we look." He holds a hand out, giving her a small smile. "I'm Eiji."

"'Again'?" Echidna inquired. It sounded like something heavy, but she couldn't help asking anyway.

She twiddled her fingers together ab it as she kept talking. "Um well, I do not think anyone is permanently gone anyway. I have seen people from other peoples' worlds show up here after they are supposedly gone, sooo.... " She only sounded half-convinced though.

Romeo saw the girl running around shouting and went to see if he could help her! He guessed she was new, because he had never seen her before, he ran after her.

"What's wrong miss?" He called out to her when he was close enough.

She glances at the hand but is too anxious to do anything about it; instead she paces a little once more.

"Dawn. So...so where do we start?"

That gets Dawn to stop pacing, if only because half of what Echidna said had made no sense whatsoever.

"What do you mean? We don't have a world anymore, that's what the letter said."

Dawn stops and looks up, determination clear in her expression. "I have to find my sister. She has to be here."

Should've expected that one. Eiji pulls his hand back once it's clear that Dawn has no intentions of shaking it. "Well, there's a few common meeting areas on different floors. I would say we make our way downstairs to them, check them, ask the people there if they know your sister. Maybe leave a message on the network once we get to the library that you're looking for her, and go on down to the cafeteria."

"So what, is this some sort of school?"

Those had libraries and cafeterias, and at the moment that's enough for it to be a logical conclusion.

"Well it's like, someone will show up here, right? So it means their world has been destroyed by the time they wake up. But then some time later someone else will show up here from their world even though it was supposedly already destroyed!" She was making some big sweeping hand gestures to try and emphasize the point, but mostly she probably just looked a little crazy.

"So I do not know if anyone can really be permanently gone or something?"

Yeah, Dawn's just going to give her a look like she's crazy.

"Okay, I know multiple apocalypses are a thing but even that doesn't explain what's happening here. Are you saying our worlds aren't really gone, that they just want us to think they are?"

Whoever "they" are but one crisis at a time.

"Maybe? No one really knows. I think some people think our worlds are gone and other people think it's just a trap and everything's just fine on the outside," She said with a shrug. Completely unfazed by being looked at like she's a freak, yep.

"If our worlds ARE gone, my bet is either Time Shenanigans, or they're holding people in cold storage or something until they wake them up. Or something."

"You mean no-one knows? Wait, where even are we if we're not in our worlds?"

She knows she's getting distracted but this sounds like important information and maybe it's better she knows something when she does find Buffy. That way, she can help.

"Do you need help! I will help you find her!" He knew that there was a chance she wouldn't be here at all, because not everyone's friends and family came here with them. But there was no harm in looking.

Dawn nods, still glancing around the corridors. "Do you know her? Buffy. She, um, she, we don't look that similar but you'd know, if you'd met her. I mean Buffy, not a name you forget in a hurry, right?"

"As far as I know, no know one knows. We're in some big freaky horror tower in the middle of nowhere or some pocket dimension." She's just gonna keep throwing out random theories and nonsense and all that. "There are people that run this tower, but I do not think they like to talk to us much, and they seem to like being creepy."
