Setting: Dormitory floors, later cafeteria
Format: Starts prose but will match
Summary: Dawn's just woken up and she's not taking this well.
Warnings: None yet

The first indication of this new arrival in the tower is a loud, high pitched scream as Dawn finds the initial sleep paralysis wearing off and falls out of her bed, having been mentally struggling uselessly against whatever had been holding her but suddenly no longer is.

She picks herself up, gazing around the unfamiliar room before her eyes fall on the letter. She takes one look at it and runs from the room, not caring that she's still in the white bodysuit she woke up in and not noticing the trunk at the foot of her bed.

Around the dormitories, therefore, there is a teenage girl running around calling out a single name: Buffy. Finding her now means finding her in a frantic, panicked state because she has no idea what's going on right now.

Later, however, you might find her in the cafeteria, dressed in her own clothes now and sullenly poking at a bowl of oatmeal.

"Do you need help! I will help you find her!" He knew that there was a chance she wouldn't be here at all, because not everyone's friends and family came here with them. But there was no harm in looking.

Dawn nods, still glancing around the corridors. "Do you know her? Buffy. She, um, she, we don't look that similar but you'd know, if you'd met her. I mean Buffy, not a name you forget in a hurry, right?"

"I haven't heard of anyone called Buffy before but I am sure if she's here we can find her!" He grins at her, he had to keep her spirits up if she was new, because it could be really scary here at first.

Okay it was really scary all the time, but when you were new and confused it wasn't nice.

She just nods again. "Yes. Good. That's okay. M-maybe that just means she's not awake yet, or, I mean this seems like a pretty big place. You could be here and not find someone, right?"

[myblueskies]

"It's really big miss. But I know everywhere, I've been here for ages and if we can't find her we can ask on the computers!" That was usually a good way of finding people, since it took a long time to check every place.

"There are computers here?"

Okay, no, getting distracted.

"How will they know if she's here?"

[myblueskies]

"Yes there are, you come from somewhere with computers?" Romeo liked meeting people from different places, he had never heard of a computer before he came to the tower. "Well they might not know, but they can help us look!"

She manages to spare the kind of disdainful look that only teenagers from a certain age can muster.

"Who doesn't?"

Still, she's pacing away a little now, not that she has any idea of where she's going right now. She just knows she needs to get to wherever these terminals are.

"Well I didn't!" Romeo follows her, not knowing where she is going either. "But everyone's from lots of different worlds, where do you want to look first miss?"

That surprises Dawn a little, but she's more focused on her initial concern right now. "You said there were computers, right? So I need to go find them."

"Oh, I can show you where they are!" He skips away to one of the alcoves where there is a terminal. "Here! You can talk to all the people in the tower on it!"

[littlemissnobody]

"Oh, right. Right."

She moves to the unit, scanning it to try and figure out how to get it to work

"So...do I just type something?"

[myblueskies]

"You click here," he opened the network, "Then if you want to say something you type, if you want to read what other people have said you click on these words," he pointed at the links, "You can also speak with your voice if you press this button," more pointing, "Or have your picture on the screen with this one."

Dawn nodded, quickly shooting off a text message before turning back to him.

"So...now what?"

[myblueskies]

"Well we can start looking! All the name's are on the doors so if she's here her name will be on one of these doors." He pointed towards the dormitories. "We can start there!"

"Right. Doors. Got it."

Dawn moved to start looking but then stopped and turned back.

"Wait. What if someone replies? How will I know? I mean, I'll be looking at doors."

[myblueskies]

[Romeo thought for a moment.] Erm... well one of us could stay here and the other one could go look at the doors!

[littlemissnobody]

"Okay."

She paced a little in front of the terminal.

"I should wait here. I-I mean, if she's here she might be looking for me so I should stay where I can be found."

[myblueskies]

Romeo nodded. "That's a good idea. You wait here, I will go look at the doors. Her name is Buffy right?"

[littlemissnobody]

She nodded. "That's right. Buffy Summers."

[myblueskies]

Okay I'll be back soon! [And off he ran

He was a good fifteen minutes because there were lots of names to read but when he returned he looked sad.] Her name isn't there.

[By the time he returns, Dawn's exactly where she was when he left. Her eyes widen in disbelief at his news]

What do you mean? It has to be.

[myblueskies]

[Romeo shook his head.] I checked all the doors... she might come later. But not everyone comes here...

[littlemissnobody]

No...

[She began to pace again, voice trembling as she spoke]

No, she's not...she can't be gone again, it's not fair!

[myblueskies]

[Romeo went to grasp her hand, to try and calm her down. She was an adult but she was upset about losing her sister.] It's not but lots of things aren't fair here, she's not gone she's just not here. That means she's safe!
