[Open] blame everything on motion controls
Characters: Zelda (SS) and anyone she runs into!
Setting: Dormitories/Floor 25/Floor 22
Format: I'll be starting off with prose, but action is fine. I'm flexible.
Summary: Fresh meat wandering around the tower.
Warnings: Probably Ghirahim. Ghirahim's his own warning, right? There will probably be spoilers for Skyward Sword as well, but other than that, not sure. Will update as needed.
DORMITORIES
This is the first area Zelda finds herself wandering aimlessly through, still in a bit of shock after being ripped oh-so-unceremoniously from her homeworld. The collar on her neck serves as a sharp reminder of what's happened, and no matter how hard she tries, she can't seem to remove it. Stepping through the halls as quietly as possible, the former goddess proceeds with caution-- you may run into her looking wide-eyed and a little lost!
FLOOR 25
This floor surprises her. Zelda wasn't expecting to see an open meadow sprawled out before her when she reached the bottom of the stairs, because she's pretty sure towers don't work like that! Looking even more puzzled than before, she tip-toes her way through the tall grass and flowers, as if expecting a bunch of bokoblins to come stampeding out of nowhere. As much as she enjoys the random fresh air and the warm breeze on her face, it is... probably a good idea to keep moving. Yes.
FLOOR 22
This is where things get even creepier. The floors before it were passed through swiftly and easily enough, but she has to stop and stare at the paintings covering the walls in this room. It's like the artist crawled inside her head and didn't leave before stealing every single one of her fears for inspiration. Images of The Imprisoned, Demise, and Ghirahim staring in different variations of death and destruction wrought upon Skyloft, the Surface... her family and friends... Link.
And the worst part is how real it feels. Almost as if someone had taken a photograph of something that actually occurred, though she knows that is just plain silly! They defeated those monsters and sealed Demise's remains away inside the Master Sword, right?
Right?

He drops his sword and runs across the field towards her, tears in his eyes. How long has it been since he had seen that smile? How long has it been since he had heard her voice? Far too long.
He practically throws himself at her and holds her as close to him as he possibly could.

However, the joy she feels is significantly short-lived when she realizes he's... missing an arm? What on Earth happened to you in such a short time?
"... Link? Link! What happened to you? Where are we?"

"I'm sorry, I am just so relieved to see that you are alright. It's a very long story, though, you may want to sit down."

He lets go of her, but she keeps one hand on his side, fingers lightly gripping his shirt. Her mouth goes dry when she looks at where his arm should be...
"O... okay... please tell me. What on Earth is going on?"
But she doesn't sit. Not yet. She's a little too anxious to sit still enough for that.

"You have been brought to this tower by terrible, terrible people. They bring in people from different worlds, and different times. You had just been talking with me, or had seen me recently before coming here, correct? I have not seen you in over a month, that is how long I have been here."
He places a hand on her shoulder.
"And for my arm... well. Your harp had been placed in one of the floors. The floor has water filled with different types of monsters called 'fish'. When I was swimming out of the water with the harp, a giant fish had gotten a hold of my arm and it had bit it right off."

Floor 22 for maximum creeping
Familiar, indeed.
Ghirahim had entered the gallery floor without a sound, and it isn't until he speaks from behind Zelda, looking over her shoulder, that he truly betrays that terrible feeling as a confirmation that it is, in fact, Ghirahim. And he is alive. ]
Admiring the talented work of our kidnappers, I see! Yes, I am sure you can appreciate the detail they went to. It's rather realistic, don't you think? Though they failed to capture the likenesses of us very well... especially your hero's. It's not nearly dark enough.
[ He loves that look on her face, truly. That horrified, almost scared look at the nightmarish paintings surrounding them. It was wonderful. Truly, he did love this Tower. It kept bringing him all the things he wanted, like some sort of gift. ]

She thought he was dead. ]
... Ghirahim. [ She says. One name, but one name that brings copious amounts of fear and revulsion with it. How beings as evil as this one-- not to mention his master-- can even exist in this or any world is beyond her. And how he exists here and now is even more confounding, all things considered. ]
OH I'M ALSO GONNA SAY THIS IS. After her thread with SS Link?
... It's probably worth noting this will be the first time anyone has ever seen him in casual clothing of any sort. A black shirt with a long-sleeved purple one underneath, a pair of black pants with white diamonds sewn down the legs, regular black shoes, white socks... it's a little odd, but it's kind of cold in the Tower right now, and he hates being cold. That won't stop him from wearing all sorts of gaudy bracelets and his earring, though. ]
Is that all you have to say to an old friend, dear girl? I'm hurt.
[ ... He doesn't look hurt. ]
I thought our reunion would be a little more interesting! You'd best be taking good care to watch yourself here, or you'll hurt yourself. I'd hate to see such a precious little girl like you die terribly, after all.
[ No he wouldn't. ]
works for me c:
You and I are not friends.
[ She swallows, her mouth feeling like sandpaper. There's no way she could face him alone, but that doesn't mean she's going to waste a single pleasantry on him. He has earned her-- and Hylia's-- ire and then some. ]
I am not afraid-- not of this place, nor you.

she seemed content so far, probably because no one was around her. eating one of fruits that came off a spring tree, could she trust it? she didn't seem to really care, she was hungry and that was that.
when she saw another person coming, she quickly stood up and dropped the fruit ]

Oh-- I am sorry-- I didn't mean to interrupt.

Ever since I set foot in this tower, a question has troubled my mind...
[ He stops walking when he gets close to her, then he briefly glare at her before directing his stare at the painting.. ]
How could a mere boy defeat the Great Demon King, maybe even the source of all evil in ancient times?
no subject
When the man speaks, his voice chills her to the bone. Imagine her confusion when she turns around and it is not Demise at all. He sounds and feels the same, but-- she can tell that it is not him. A minion of his, perhaps? Or... No. No, that's not quite it. That is not it at all.
Link just told her that there were descendants of theirs here. That all of the Links looked the same, had the same name, and even wore the Hero's trademark green! And there's another Zelda here, who is one of her own descendants. For Hylia's reincarnation, it is not difficult to figure out what is going on here.
Demise said they were cursed. This has to be what he meant. ]
Demise...!
[ Zelda takes a step back to put a little more room between her and this evil man. Though she lost most of the Goddess' power when she was reborn, she is not completely helpless. She knows how to create and maintain a seal, at the very least. ]
Men are not insects. They will not scurry back into the darkness when a torch is lit.
[ She swallows, her mouth suddenly dry. ]
As long as evil continues to underestimate them, it will never win.

This is the confirmation he had awaited. And considering her knowledge of Demise, the fear he appears to inspire into her- This means she has to be the first Zelda. The one Ghirahim mentioned. This is all perfect. ]
In this life, they call me Ganondorf...
[ He chuckles lightly and stares at the painting of Demise. ]
Yes, at the time period I come from, men had potential... Yet they wasted it. They are stagnant. They avoid confrontation, they flee and beg for higher beings to protect them. They fear what they cannot see, they reject what they do not understand.
[ He turns back to face her. ]
No, men are not as you see them. But, unlike my past self, I learnt from my mistakes, even if the reason the boy could defeat us is a mystery to me. I did learn a few humans stand above, they mustn't be underestimated... Those chosen by the gods and those sharing the blood of the royal family.
[ In short, your descendants. Needless to say they're his high-priority targets ever since he arrived. ]
/combo-breaks the villains on Floor 22
But today there is something odd that catches her attention as she descends the stairwell. Something... strangely nostalgic. A presence she knows she has never encountered, yet feels like she has all the same.
Pointedly not looking at the paintings, she wanders the gallery floor until she comes across the source of that odd feeling: a girl, one who looks quite a bit like that half-finished figurine a certain Skyloftian hero showed her. The poor girl looks terrified, though, and rightfully so, considering the morbid picture that has her transfixed.
Her voice is gentle when she speaks, almost sympathetic.]
... Come on. This is not someplace one should linger.
[If only for the sake of one's mind.]
aww yee!
Ah... mm.
[ Her words finally register. Zelda affords the paintings one last glance before forcing herself to look away-- first at her feet, and then at the other woman across from her. And that nagging feeling will not leave her alone. ]
I'm sorry but... have we met before?
Re: aww yee!
No, I do not believe we have. At least, not face to face. But I have heard a story or two about you, I believe.
[Then she smiles a bit, apologetic just in case she gets this wrong.]
... Your name is Zelda, is it not?
no subject
She is not a skeptic, but she is having a difficult time parsing all of this new information. Forgive her if she still seems a little uncertain at times. ]
Yes, that is my name. [ And even though she has a feeling she might know the answer... ] But who are you, and how have you heard about me?

Floor 25!
Either way, the haunting melody of an Ocarina winds its way through the meadow.
Link is a bit too preoccupied to notice Zelda, just yet, of course, and thus continues playing. ]

Except it's not Link. There's something off here, but she can't quite put her finger on it. She wants to call out to him, to ask him his name, but she can't bring herself to interrupt him. Instead, she approaches him, and stops once she is only a few feet from him.
Zelda places her hand over her heart, swept away by such a beautiful melody. If only she had her harp, she might consider joining him. ]

Zelda's Lullaby. It was quite important to them. When they ARE done, they turn to look behind them. The presence reminds them quite a bit of... well, their Zelda. And... Sky had shown them that carving, so-- ]
... I apologize, I did not see you.
[ A second passes. ]
Are you the Zelda from Skyloft?
no subject
Yes. That's me.
[ A pause, looking sheepish beforehand in case she's wrong-- ]
Are you... Link?

... and then he sees a girl who looks strangely familiar.
He finishes rubbing his eye and focuses on her. ... She looks lost. She must be new.
Well. His name wouldn't be Link if he could just walk away from her like this.]
Hello?
