1st Song ☠ | Introduction
Characters: Eikichi (Michel) and whatever poor sap would like to talk with him.
Setting: And floor, all the corridors, day and night, it's all up to you, he'll be running around.
Format: I started in prose, but you can pick a style, and I'll match it!
Summary: Eikichi finds himself in the tower and everything is terrible.
Warnings: Eikichi is a warning onto himself.
Victory had never been so bittersweet. After defeating the Great Father, finding out the entire thing had been a bet between Philemon and Nyarlathotep, the world destroyed and with Maya stuck by the spear ending her life, all that had remained was a chance giving to them to go back in time. However, they'd have to give up their memories their friendships of each other. Considering the fate of the world and their friend was at stake, it was a heavy price that Eikichi did not mind to give up willingly. After all, friendship was more powerful than the bonds of space and time, he thought and even if they had not met as children, he was certain they'd see each other one day again.
But now, here he was, inside a tower and a note that his world had been destroyed. No shit, it had been destroyed. Needless to say, Eikichi wasn't too pleased. Goddamnit, all of this, everything around him, a cruel joke, ALL FOR NOTHING?! Had this been Philemon's fault...oh just wait until that butterfly masked asshole came to talk again, he was going to get a fist to the face.
Well, now that he was here, he could make the most of it, he supposed. Eikichi wasn't expecting to find his friends - what with the word having ended, after all, and somewhat guilty that he still had his memories intact. Hopefully the world ending hadn't been his fault. He'd never forgive himself--yeah best not to think about it. He opened up his trunk and found his guitar case in thirty or so smaller pieces. Yet it looked somewhat easy to rebuilt, even for him, and before long the pieces clamped together like a jigsaw puzzle. The Lgendary Guitar Case was made whole again. Swinging it over his shoulders, he closed the door to his room, and walked out.

[ If he could smile, and somehow it isn't hard to picture if he could, Thanatos would have an infuriatingly VAGUE expression of satisfaction on his face right now. He's sighing. Why is everything so difficult with him?
It is taking all his willpower to keep Thanatos and his overbearing energy (where did it come from, though?) from crushing him, to be frank. That feeling of coldness... ]
... Our Personas aren't normal.
[ They're more like Shadows than Personas. He is well aware, and Minato attempts to move the weight over his entire body right now to reach the pill bottle in his pocket. ]
no subject
Yeah, no shit. What the hell did that all even mean--[Sudden look of confusion.] Uh I don't think a bunch of Eve Quicks are gonna help at this rate...
no subject
They're Persona Suppressors.
[ He's guessing he doesn't know about them...? ]
no subject
[....what?!]
no subject
[ He pauses. ... Then, he adds: ]
Which I guess yours picked up on, or something. I have no idea.
no subject
Persona Suppressors sounds like an oxymoron to me [he used a big word yay.]
Explains why Hades is acting all weird. He never comes out like this normally. It's like that Persona's voice was made a bit more quiet. But uh, apparently he's not quite a Persona or something? Hade's ain't telling me more.
[Can you tell he's pretty confused at the situation.]
no subject
[ Minato honestly has no idea what he means, unless... ]
Our Personas aren't ours. I'm not surprised. Thanatos is... he's very powerful, but he has a tendency to be extremely volatile. I'm not afraid of him, but given that our abilities were forced into us by the experiments, we're not really able to... control ours.
Ours are closer to Shadows than real Personas. That's because that's... what they were, as far as we know. Shadows and Personas are essentially the same thing, anyway; Shadows are just human negativity.
no subject
...but Shadows are a part of ourselves. I should know, I fought mine! He had a Reserve Hades and big dumb glowing eyes and everything!
[He might not be remembering that part quite correctly. His eyes were just yellow.]
Still...man. I don't get why they'd stuff unwilling stuff inside you. No wonder they want out. They ain't even your proper shadows and everything!
no subject
[ He's thinking, now. ] ... All I know is the the Kirijo Group was studying them and Personas, and so they rounded up a bunch of kids from the streets and started--to put it bluntly--shoving the things into people's heads expecting us to tame them as Personas using drugs and... other methods.
When all but four of us either died or turned into Shadows, we still had problems, and that was them trying to kill us. We don't really mind, though. Our Personas are the only constant we have. That, and death, I suppose.
no subject
That's seriously messed up. Personas are a part of yourself, you ain't supposed to try and make fake ones, that'll just piss em off real quick! Does that mean if my Shadow had won, I wouldn't turned into a mass of...[better not think about it too much.]
Gotta be a way to fix that up...
[Eikichi adjust himself, and sits up again, crossing his arms.]
...Death is the only constant thing in this world. But uh, Jun used to say something about the Death being a symbol of rebirth too and change. [He is of the Death Arcana, after all. It probably stinks up the place.] I just...goddammit this pisses me off!
no subject
... That was honestly just what the Kirijo Corporation did. And, from what... someone else told me, was the work of a single scientist.
[ He frowns slightly. ]
I take it you don't need an Evoker for your Persona, either...?
no subject
No? What's an Evoker look like?
no subject
Not difficult to understand, he hopes. He also hopes Eikichi won't freak out. ]
no subject
Well...that's something alright.
[Unconsciously, he grips at his guitar case still hanging from his back.]
no subject
[ Since, y'know, they usually couldn't call their Personas out during the day. Anyway, he's already seen Thanatos, so he sees no real reason to bother with summoning at this point. ]
Or not gdit
...it's like you're speaking something I should understand, but I don't. Uh, if we're gonna compare notes, I ain't needing whatever the Dark Hour is to summon my Personas. Hell I used them in school before. And no need for an...Evoker either, obviously.
[Although now he does wonder what would happen if he did use it....]
I expected a much longer tag somehow LMAO
... Well, you are from the past from our perspective, Mishina-san. I can only speculate on what I know, we were kept in the dark a lot, but we've found out plenty on our own. As far as I'm aware, the Dark Hour was an accident, but it lets us summon freely. Of course, it also turns that school Gekkoukan into Tartarus, or the Tower of Demise--a Shadow Nest, essentially, but...
[ Ugh, this is giving him a headache. He hadn't accounted for any of that. ]
All that I know about it is that it IS possible to summon without that environment, but it's... extremely difficult. Same with the Evokers. They're amplifiers, because you need that emotional turmoil or feeling of being near death to call forth your Persona in the first place.
[ After a moment, he sort of just rubs the back of his neck, sighing, and shakes his head. ]
... I don't know, it's confusing if I don't have all the pieces. I only know so much. Are you part of an actual group of Persona users, or...
Wow I didn't get a notif for this wtf
...huh.
[He crosses his arms and things about it.]
Shadows were different in my world. They were caused by humans having all their life, hopes and energy taken away. They became zombies. Over time they...faded completely out of existence. Forgotten by everyone else but Persona users...
[The pain of seeing his Bros slowly getting like that still haunts him. It's evident in his cracking voice, but he continues.]
...also yeah. It was six of us. Well five when Yukino gave away her Persona powers so Jun to reawaken his. But it was me, Ta-chan, Jun, Lisa, Big sis...Maya and Yukino. We fought against the Masked Circle at first but that turned out to just be a plot by Nythar...Nyth...the Crawling Chaos, dark side of humanity.
Rumors in our town became real when you spread them and strange things began to happen...
[Eikichi goes on for a while, explaining what they did - Fighting Joker, the Nazis, the floating city, facing off against Nyarlathotep. In the end however...]
We...failed. Maya was struck by the Lance and she died, and the world ended with only the flaoting city left of humanity.
Philemon offered us another chance...give up our memories of our friendships, live without knowing each other and restart the world with us never meeting...so we did.
[He sighs. It's a painful sigh.]
...then I woke up here before it could...
ow my heart
I want to know--why is it, that every Persona user either didn't ask for their abilities or got stuck with them and their lives were ruined because of it?
What my friends and I have to just to survive is--
[ ... He bits his lip. "Murder. Thieving. Selling drugs and guns and weapons, smuggling, hopping from place to place, avoiding the law, never feeling secure"... not stuff he should say. ]
It isn't right. But it must have worked, if we're still around. I don't pretend to understand much, but we have to be from the same timeline in some form, if you're around, Mishina-san.
For what it's worth, I can relate, somewhat. My family died in an accident due to the Dark Hour; so did my sister. But... you have no reason to be afraid of anyone dying. Even if it's before you, it's not something you should be distressed over.
I learned that a long time ago.
