Characters : Doc, his dog and you!
Setting: Floor 12 and Everywhere else
Format: Starting with prose but will match
Summary: Doc wakes up and decides to explore the tower. He is astonished by the projection at Floor 12 and he will babble a lot as explores other floors. Oh, and his dog may find you first.
Warnings: Nothing serious. Lots of technobabble. Panic. He may imply you are the reason your homeworld got destroyed if you mention weird things about time travel. And a dog may happily leap at you.
• Floor Twelve
You may have been quietly watching the terrible projection covering the walls of this room. Or maybe you’re not even here yet. Either way, a scream could be heard coming from the staircase. Was it panic, was it horror? Whatever it was, newt thing you know an old man entered the floor, dressed in weird and flashy clothes, and followed by a dog. He stared at the scenery wide-eyed and mouth open.
“Great Scott!!”
He pulled up his silver glasses, quickly drew a weird camera thingie out of his pocket, and then started observing the walls and ceiling with it.
“Unbelievable! It’s as though the very fabric of those universes are ripped apart! Like if life and all matter were sucked in the holes created by the collapse of the space-time continuum, leading to the…!”
He put down the camera upon realizing the meaning of his words. That was worse than anything he had imagined! And it confirmed his fears about the letter. He quickly pulled out a photo from his pocket and stared at it, both with regret and with sadness.
“Marty, what have we done?! What have I done? How could I be so careless? So inconsiderate?!” he sighed “It can’t be undone, can it?”
The dog whined and sat down besides Doc as he stared still at the photo. Finally Doc shook his head, pocketed the photo, and then went back at observing the scenery through his camera. Mumbling weird things probably nobody could understand.
• Everywhere Else
Doc will be exploring the tower, admiring whatever technological prowess he happens to pass by. Odds are that you’ll find him babbling about what he sees, reading a book at the library, peeking into the viewing stations, eating his oatmeal, or even trying to play video games. He’s so absorbed in his thoughts, he may bump into you as he walks through the corridors.
Alternatively, you may find a dog running and stopping right before you. Not a dangerous one though, quite the contrary actually. This dog looks quite happy to have found someone else.

"Before time began, before spirits and life existed... Three golden goddesses descended upon the chaos that was the Surface. Din, the Goddess of Power. Nayru, the Goddess of Wisdom. Farore, the Goddess of Courage. Din, with her strong flaming arms, she cultivated the land and created the red earth. Nayru, poured her wisdom onto the earth and gave the spirit of law to the world. Farore, with her rich soul, produced all life forms who would uphold the law."
And then Fi settled onto the floor in front of him as soon as she was done, looking as though that wasn't probably one of the strangest things he'd ever observed.
"There is more, if you wish. A tale that extends to the time that I served Master Link."
no subject
When she gets back before him...
"... Great Scott."
He's said that a lot today. But Fi is just... She's a source of Great Scott.
"I do not know if I want to hear more. The mere fact that you exist is a mystery beyond understanding. A Goddess you said..."
No, he doesn't want to believe. But how could anyone but a God have created that? Though... every technology, if advanced enough, will look like magic. So, maybe...
no subject
Fi just floated in front of him, feet just barely off the ground. If he didn't want to hear any more, that was fine with her. She already figured that her very existence was disturbing him.
"And yes, there are four goddesses in my world. Hylia was created by the Old Ones." A pause from her before and tilts her head towards the stairs.
"Perhaps it would be best if I continued on my way."
no subject
"No, please don't leave just yet!"
He grabs her by the wings. Sorry about your personal space, but this one scientist wants answers. And he'll have them.
"Please tell me what it is you are made of. Surely even if you have been created by a 'Goddess', you must be made of incredible electronic components under your outer covering!"
no subject
She'll just... move away slightly, removing his hands from her in the process. So far, only Sea Link has touched her freely. And she let him because he's one of the heroes.
"If Her Grace were present in this tower, and not her descendants, she would be better able to provide you with answers."
no subject
He scratches the back of his head then opens wide-eyes in realization!
"Yes...! You mentioned her descendants were there as well as those of your Master... Yet your Master and his descendant cannot be there at once, you must be mistaken!"
You have to be Fi, or else that means time shenanigans. And you don't want Doc to assume you or this tower messed with the space-time continuum. You don't.
no subject
If she wasn't concerned about disturbing Master Link, she'd introduce him to her Master and the other Links but... no.
no subject
He gasps and moves his hand around, for whatsoever no reason
"Great Scott! This confirms what I thought!"
He stares back right at her. Fi, you searched for it.
"Do you realize what that means?!"
no subject
At least he wasn't grabbing her again. His grabby tendencies were very worrying to her. She really didn't like being touched much, as she was discovering.
no subject
Not grabbing you this time, but pointing the walls around. Yup, time travel is responsible for it all. So far he had supposed time travel was only the problem back in his universe, but now it was clear as crystal, it was the reason for the destruction of most universes around here. Remember that Gate of Time Fi? Remember?
no subject
"And if it did, the my Master descendants would never have been born."
no subject
Of course, and that's probably not going to get better.
"His descendants may have been born, but this doesn't rule out time paradoxes from being the origin of your universe's ultimate end. Obviously a force relating to the exploration of the space-time continuum has been at work in or around your homeworld, otherwise there are no satisfying explanation as to how many generations of your Master's lineage live together in this tower. But then if the destruction of an universe hit every point in space, then it also hit every point in time!"
He gets closer to her, but he doesn't grab her this time, so no worries Fi. And the worst is yet to come.
"Space and time continuum are a single existence, with time being the fourth dimension of that continuum! When destruction hit an universe, every point in space are hit by the destruction, but it would be illogical for the fourth-dimension of the space-time continuum to be left untouched by the destruction: time! And because every point in time were hit by the destruction, it allows for people from both the past and futur to be reunited in this tower in spite of the cataclysm that took out our universes!"
no subject
And that's all he'll get. Staring. For awhile anyway. Because it makes no sense to her. It really doesn't. And she's glad that he hasn't met the Link's yet, he'd confuse them too. Definitely.
"I fail to see the logic in that explanation."
no subject
He looks around for a board or a paper or something...Nope, nothing. But it's what he did for Marty, and then his explanation became clear as crystal. It would be a crime to let Fi leave under a wrong impression.
"Damn, I wish I could draw for a better explanation. Do you have a paper or something for me to show you?
no subject
"Please follow me, if you wish." She was already floating towards the stairs, heading to the dorm floor.
no subject
What kind of name is that? Yet again, his name is Brown. He goes behind her then. He will be able to show her with more ease if he can draw.
"Very well, I'll follow you lady-robot!"
no subject
She'll just lead him up to the dorms and into her room. There's a crayon drawing of Fi above her bed, Sea's way of helping Fi mark her bed as her own despite having the room to herself.
Opening up her trunk, she uses magic to float a couple sheets of paper and crayons to him.
no subject
"Amazing!"
Not the crayons, the magic. There had to be some sort of invisible hovering technology at work here, no doubt. She was a robot after all, and from advanced conception! Anyway, he takes a paper, a crayon and starts his 'art'. He shows her the paper, blank at first.
"Space and time exist as a single entity, existence. That's what we call a continuum! For what is about to come, please consider this paper to be the continuum, it will make things easier."
He draws two lines on the paper and write x and y next to them, then shows it back to Fi.
"Those are the standard two dimension, you probably heard of them before, most likely even studied them at school."
He wishes. Well, at least he's trying to make it simple enough so she understands. Next he draws a diagonal line on the paper and write z next to it, before showing it to Fi once again.
"This is the third dimension. It makes things more complicated but it is necessary to work with three-dimensional object. I've drawn it this way to give an impression of depth, that's what the third dimension is all about: depth. Now, like you can see,"
Now Doc picks a point J and write the coordinate of this point on the three axis.
"-Every points in space are linked to the three dimensions!"
And lastly, he fill in the background and write t, before showing it to Fi for the final time.
"And here we have the fourth dimension: time! It cannot be represented because time is a much more abstract concept, but it is a dimension like the other. Hence our point J is linked to Time, as are every other point in space!!"
Now onto the exciting part. His eyes widen and his hold on the paper tightens.
"Now what is the destruction of an universe? It is when every point in space are destroyed! But if every point in time are destroyed, so are the three axis-"
He crumples the paper and gets nearer to Fi.
"And so is time!! Which implies the destruction of the universe happens in every point in time, so that the past, present and future are all destroyed at once!"
no subject
She only had one question though. And it would surprise no one:
"School? I did not attend the Knight Academy in Skyloft or any other education facility."
no subject
He pauses and looks at her. She looks more human than robot though. So he smiles a bit.
"But i was very enlightening meeting you Fi. I hope we will be able to meet again sometime in the future."
no subject
"I am glad that you enjoyed our meeting."
no subject
"Just one little thing-"
She's very advanced and all, but...
"Are you able to feel emotions?"
no subject
no subject
He was thinking like her till he met Clara. In fact, he thought emotions followed some kind of logic... Yup.
"But I am glad to hear you have them."
no subject
He was human. She was not. Fi was created to guide the Chosen Hero and then sleep for all eternity.
