Characters : Doc, his dog and you!
Setting: Floor 12 and Everywhere else
Format: Starting with prose but will match
Summary: Doc wakes up and decides to explore the tower. He is astonished by the projection at Floor 12 and he will babble a lot as explores other floors. Oh, and his dog may find you first.
Warnings: Nothing serious. Lots of technobabble. Panic. He may imply you are the reason your homeworld got destroyed if you mention weird things about time travel. And a dog may happily leap at you.
• Floor Twelve
You may have been quietly watching the terrible projection covering the walls of this room. Or maybe you’re not even here yet. Either way, a scream could be heard coming from the staircase. Was it panic, was it horror? Whatever it was, newt thing you know an old man entered the floor, dressed in weird and flashy clothes, and followed by a dog. He stared at the scenery wide-eyed and mouth open.
“Great Scott!!”
He pulled up his silver glasses, quickly drew a weird camera thingie out of his pocket, and then started observing the walls and ceiling with it.
“Unbelievable! It’s as though the very fabric of those universes are ripped apart! Like if life and all matter were sucked in the holes created by the collapse of the space-time continuum, leading to the…!”
He put down the camera upon realizing the meaning of his words. That was worse than anything he had imagined! And it confirmed his fears about the letter. He quickly pulled out a photo from his pocket and stared at it, both with regret and with sadness.
“Marty, what have we done?! What have I done? How could I be so careless? So inconsiderate?!” he sighed “It can’t be undone, can it?”
The dog whined and sat down besides Doc as he stared still at the photo. Finally Doc shook his head, pocketed the photo, and then went back at observing the scenery through his camera. Mumbling weird things probably nobody could understand.
• Everywhere Else
Doc will be exploring the tower, admiring whatever technological prowess he happens to pass by. Odds are that you’ll find him babbling about what he sees, reading a book at the library, peeking into the viewing stations, eating his oatmeal, or even trying to play video games. He’s so absorbed in his thoughts, he may bump into you as he walks through the corridors.
Alternatively, you may find a dog running and stopping right before you. Not a dangerous one though, quite the contrary actually. This dog looks quite happy to have found someone else.

Mary actually squeals a bit when he grabs her, even flinching away. She did not expect that. At all. And since this is the first time she's alive and in her own body in over four-thousand years, it's a bit frightening.
"This... really isn't that great an honor, I assure you. History has likely made more of me than there ever was."
no subject
Totally true story. But now Doc is kind of a scientific genius. And woops, sorry Mary, bad habits are bad.
"Is that so?" he says then finally let her go "But surely you must have made great things or your name wouldn't be remembered 2000 years latter?!"
no subject
Zarathustra didn't count. As a Relic of God, it couldn't be considered a machine like the ones here or in any time alter than her own.
"I designed and helped build Zarathustra. That is hardly noteworthy, however."
no subject
Well, that's still probably more complicated than anything he ever designed.
"Zarathustra? Like the hero from Nietzsche's book?"
no subject
She really didn't want to argue with him about this. And Mary wasn't the arguing type anyway. If anything, she was the type of person to just sit down and shut up when told.
"I don't know who that is. Zarathustra is a Relic of God."
no subject
"It's the main character of a book, which I could never truly understand." he says "This is quite amazing that you would have built a device named after a character who didn't exist yet, unless Nietzsche somehow learnt about it. What is this device supposed to do?"
no subject
"I couldn't tell you which way it worked. Zarathustra... It's the system used to begin Eternal Recurrence. I created it, originally, to try to help humans ascend to the realm of God. So they wouldn't have to suffer the universes destruction."
no subject
"The Eternal reccurence...?"
And then he freezes and stares at her, half astonished, half surprised.
"You have created a device to prevent your universe's destruction?!?"
no subject
Oh, that feeling of complete and utter uselessness. She has it. For a being like herself to have so much power but be incapable of enacting any real change is a harsh thing to deal with.
no subject
Taking back the universe to its starting point? Without time travel? That's probably the one greatest technological feat he's heard about.
"I can't even imagine how such a machine work!! Do you have the blueprints on you?"
Yes yes, he's very excited about this. Don't feel useless, this old appears to think you are quite amazing at the contrary.
no subject
Add to that, Wilhelm took it eventually and once Earth was abandoned... well, it ended up hidden deep in Michtam. Nobody would ever have known. Maybe rumors, stories, legends, what have you, but no mortal would ever know for sure.
"I'm afraid I don't. I'm sorry. It wouldn't do us any good here anyway. Shion, my Maiden, she isn't here."
no subject
Come on Mary, cheer up. You cannot be sad forever.
"Your Maiden?"
What the hell is up with that now?
"How is she linked to a machine?"
no subject
She will. Eventually.
"The Maiden of Mary. I need her to activate the system." Yeshua as well but... Well, he was already pretty excited about her being who she was that she didn't want to bring anymore attention to the subject.
no subject
He pauses. Welp, he's got no idea how she may need a Maiden to activate a system. Is she a living battery or something? He probably wouldn't understand anyway.
"I see, but even so this sounds like something much more technological than anything I ever did."
no subject
Sorry Doc, it would too complicated to explain. And Mary wasn't as good at explaining those things as Yeshua or the others.
"You are human though. That's the difference."
no subject
Because that's a curious man right there, here. And now you said something you shouldn't have-
"Great Scott, you mean you're not human?"
no subject
Mary crossed her arms silently and shook her head.
"I never was. I exist because the Collective Unconscious, the universe, wills me to exist."
no subject
Because, the emperor, those didn't exist anywhere for ages. Except in Japan and a few country, but they were no big deal.
"... Great Scott! The Collective Unconscious? Do you mean this actually exist?!"
no subject
"Star... Wars?"
He seemed to have forgotten rather quickly who she was and what time period she lived during before she died.
"Well, yes. It does. Why?"
no subject
Hiding embarrassment, he is good at.
"It's been theorized for years in my homeworld but there could never be a scientific proof of its existence!"
no subject
She does look a bit thoughtful though.
"I'm not sure it ever could be proven or explained scientifically."
no subject
He knows his business. He just wouldn't accept for something to escape science. It just- Makes no sense.
no subject
"Not everything can be explained scientifically. Most things but not everything."
no subject
Okay, he's stuck. But there's got to be an explanation to this. That body was probably not really human... HE'LL FIND AN EXPLANATION.
"Someone once wrote any technology advanced enough is indistinguishable from magic. I cannot accept that something has no scientific explanation!"
