[02] || [Doc Brown's Amazing Inventions] || [Open]

Characters: Doc, possibly Marty, Einstein (the dog) and You
Setting: Workshop (15th Floor) on Saturday 26th
Format: Prose or action, whichever you prefer
Summary: Following Marty’s announcement on the network, Doc keep working on his inventions and now accept requests. He offers free pancakes and free cup of coffee to anyone visiting the 'shop' too. Feel free to ask him to invent you something if there's something you need or just visit his working place.
Warnings: None. Marty working with him, he may pop-up at any time.

The first and most noticeable thing in the part of the workshop that's being slowly turned into Doc's lab, are the clocks. There are over ten of them aligned next to each other and they are all absolutely perfectly synchronized. On a table next to them is hovering a black and rather bland hoverboard, with the text '#2 Prototype' written onto it. Under the table was Einstein, laying in a comfy bed for dog Doc made him, nomming on a pancake.

Speaking of pancakes, there is a wonderful machine that automatically produces pancakes regularly working on a table opposite to the one with the hoverboard. And next to it are some delicious pancakes already made and ready to be eaten. Next to it is a coffee maker and a few empty cups next to it.

In the background can be seen the first requests Doc got, and started working on. There's a very long sword awaiting for its owner with a little paper attached on it "For Sephiroth". On the walls there are some blueprints and below the beginning of Doc's work to make that weapon. It's not very advanced yet, but it progresses.

Doc himself can be seen working on some sort of super-computer he's assembled using what he found in the tower- And improved greatly since his last attempts at simulating a time travel. He's wearing traditional lab coat and goggles. There are three screens next to each other, a couple of keyboards and a mess of wire and electronic stuff bellow. The middle screen is that of a classical computer, reading as follow:

Variants
Location: Ok
Atmospheric Conditions: Ok
Vehicle: Ok
Flux Capacitor: Ok
Passengers: _
Destination: _
Instantaneous Speed: _

Please input the variables then press enter to start the simulation

The left screen display the perfect reproduction of a Flux Capacitor with many texts and scientific calculation that are probably unreadable to most people. The screen on the right looks like a video game- It shows a weird car in the Cathedral Floor with nobody sitting in it. As this very moment, Doc is sitting in front of the computer, entering variable in the programs.

"Yeah, nice to meet you," Marty said, offering his hand for a shake. "I can't say I ever heard of 'ShinRa' before, but that definitely is some kinda sword."

To be honest, Marty's eyes sort of bugged out when Cloud lifted the sword like it was nothing. These guys had to be like professional mercenaries, or maybe like those guys in Mega Mutants vs Alien Squad at the Arcade.

"It's one of a kind. I wish I could say the same about the man that wields it."

A little grim humor always made the coffee taste better. Granted the Remnants were only pieces of Sephiroth's will and not the man himself, but Hojo had attempted to imbue the blueprints of the General into Cloud and Zack with various results.

At Doc's random bit of information about Shinra, Cloud duck his head, wondering if the company had manage to crawl across space and time or if there was something else at work. From what he had seen so far, there were some concepts that translated to other worlds. Maybe it was just a coincidence.

"Thanks. I figured it would take Tsurugi the longest so no worry; I've got a couple stand-by weapons to last until then. I'm actually surprised that Sephiroth hasn't been here yet. Masamune is probably his most prized possession. And he gets grumpy without coffee."

Where did that tidbit come from? Cloud frowned to himself and then shrugged. Probably another piece that he managed to absorb during his missing four years.

Sephiroth himself strode in the workshop a few minutes later, appearing a bit paler than usual, but no less stoic, professional. He gave a nod to those assembled and a bit of a jaunty salute to the Doc himself before feline green eyes lit up, they finding and settling on his beloved Masamune.

Perhaps it was some trick of the shop's light, but the sword itself seemed to respond with a soft blue-white aura at the General's approach, his left hand closing about the hilt with easy familiarity. As Cloud had done just a few moments before, Sephiroth lifted the great sword with a single hand, gaze traveling down the length of the blade, free gloved hand following with reverence, admiring the Doctor's handiwork.

The slender but powerful blade hummed through the air as Sephiroth slowly rotated it, bringing it back before his nose for a final contemplation. Then he nodded, more than satisfied.

"Excellent. Most excellent, indeed."

He glanced up and over at Doc Brown, inclining his head with sincere gratitude. "You have my thanks and more, Doctor."

Cloud tenses ever so slightly as Sephiroth appeared and picked up the Masamune. He could almost hear the sword hum, that deadly sound as it cut through the air, slicing apart the molecules. He shook himself out of it, knowing that he was just imagining it and that Sephiroth was no where near to that point where he would have a need to show off his strength.

"The coffee's fine. Better than the stuff they boil in the mess hall."

He watched Sephiroth for a few seconds longer and then turned back to the study of his coffee cup. No, no signs of insanity yet.

Marty watched in fascination when Sephiroth lifted the sword like- like it was nothing. There was something going on here.

"H-how did you do that? That thing is heavy. I mean I kept dropping pieces on my foot." And tearing up his shoes, but that was another story. Then, realizing what he said was sort of odd, he amended, "by accident."

Giving the young man a glance - Marty, he figured - Sephiroth had to chuckle. "It was made for me," he offered in explanation, truly unable to communicate the bond between he and the weapon. "To fit my hand." And it did, flawlessly.

But perhaps he could explain a bit about other things... "SOLDIERs are genetically enhanced, as perhaps Cloud may have explained. They have greatly increased strength, stamina, speed and regenerative abilities." His eyebrow ticked up, green gaze returning to the steel in his hands. "I must disrecommend the process of such, however." Vehemently, if necessary.

"Nevertheless, I do greatly appreciate your help in the restoration. I'm in your debt, both of you."

Oh, Sephiroth didn't have to wonder for very long. Hence his slight scowl.

"It does. Although some scientists might negate such side effects, those who've undergone the process would definitely disagree. The mental stress is...quite harsh, at least in the program SOLDIER designed."

Anguish flashed over his face briefly. "And many succumbed to its madness."

Welcome to ShinRa, Doc.

"Unfortunately, those overseeing the project felt the ends justified the means. They were more than willing to sacrifice many for a small payoff."

A shitload of good it did, however, given the state of ShinRa when Sephiroth and Zack had been forcibly removed to the Tower. And from later reports, it seemed their mistakes had definitely come about to bite them in their corporate asses, a nuance in which Sephiroth privately took wicked delight.

But to warn the Doctor... "The scientists overseeing the project were Dr. Hollander and Professor Hojo, the latter of which has somehow arrived here." Sephiroth looked at both Doc and Marty seriously. "Be cautious in your dealings with the good professor, sir. I speak from experience when I tell you the man is quite...paradoxical."

Figured. Trust the Professor to seek out others of a similar ilk. But praise be to Shiva the Doc didn't seem to share the same mindset. Maybe there was hope, after all.

"Quite sure, Doctor. As one of his subjects myself, I'm quite familiar with the man's nature." Horrific though that nuance was.

"I would...take it as a personal favor if you were to limit discussions of any sort with the man, given what I know of the nature of his research. Despite the Professor's outward persona, the man isn't to be trusted." Have a stern look, Doc.

"At all."
atouchofstrife: (that way)

He had let Sephiroth talk about the professor, instead, spending a few minutes looking at what Doc Brown had made so far with his sword. He also had to make a mental check list of the necessary supplies needed to create the weapon. On the Planet, he had used the material of his other swords for the construction of Tsurugi, but here he might have luck without having to find a WEAPON for a piece.

But the talk of Hojo brought him back, to glance over at Sephiroth and then to Doc Brown. He seemed like a nice enough person, but nice people can always be fooled by someone like Hojo.

"He's a lunatic." Yes, that was Cloud's personal opinion about Hojo. "I never met Hollander, but I had been a guest of Hojo's for four years. He was attempting to re-create Sephiroth's abilities by using a blank slate... a young cadet in the armed forces that had fallen in battle. The process had almost destroyed his identity if it hadn't been for a friend breaking him free."

A beat. He shifted a little, looking over at Sephiroth, trying to gauge his reaction. "He also used some of the same techniques on himself."

Marty was growing more and more concerned. When he had first seen the good Professor, he had a funny feeling about him when he was skulking around, but it wasn't anything to pin point.

"Geez, Doc, that guy sounds like a real nutcase... I mean I can't imagine what you guys have been through, but..." He shrugs helplessly, wrapping his arms around his chest. "You think he'd do things like that here?"
