[02] || [Doc Brown's Amazing Inventions] || [Open]

Characters: Doc, possibly Marty, Einstein (the dog) and You
Setting: Workshop (15th Floor) on Saturday 26th
Format: Prose or action, whichever you prefer
Summary: Following Marty’s announcement on the network, Doc keep working on his inventions and now accept requests. He offers free pancakes and free cup of coffee to anyone visiting the 'shop' too. Feel free to ask him to invent you something if there's something you need or just visit his working place.
Warnings: None. Marty working with him, he may pop-up at any time.

The first and most noticeable thing in the part of the workshop that's being slowly turned into Doc's lab, are the clocks. There are over ten of them aligned next to each other and they are all absolutely perfectly synchronized. On a table next to them is hovering a black and rather bland hoverboard, with the text '#2 Prototype' written onto it. Under the table was Einstein, laying in a comfy bed for dog Doc made him, nomming on a pancake.

Speaking of pancakes, there is a wonderful machine that automatically produces pancakes regularly working on a table opposite to the one with the hoverboard. And next to it are some delicious pancakes already made and ready to be eaten. Next to it is a coffee maker and a few empty cups next to it.

In the background can be seen the first requests Doc got, and started working on. There's a very long sword awaiting for its owner with a little paper attached on it "For Sephiroth". On the walls there are some blueprints and below the beginning of Doc's work to make that weapon. It's not very advanced yet, but it progresses.

Doc himself can be seen working on some sort of super-computer he's assembled using what he found in the tower- And improved greatly since his last attempts at simulating a time travel. He's wearing traditional lab coat and goggles. There are three screens next to each other, a couple of keyboards and a mess of wire and electronic stuff bellow. The middle screen is that of a classical computer, reading as follow:

Variants
Location: Ok
Atmospheric Conditions: Ok
Vehicle: Ok
Flux Capacitor: Ok
Passengers: _

The left screen display the perfect reproduction of a Flux Capacitor with many texts and scientific calculation that are probably unreadable to most people. The screen on the right looks like a video game- It shows a weird car in the Cathedral Floor with nobody sitting in it. As this very moment, Doc is sitting in front of the computer, entering variable in the programs.

He came for the coffee. Cloud wasn't sure where the taste for coffee came from; he had never liked it before his stint in the tanks. But now, he had to have coffee and when he had found out the Doc had some in his lab, Cloud ended up stopping there during his run through the Tower.

But once the coffee was in hand, he ended up standing in front of the Masamune, looking at it with a mixture of glum acceptance and something alike to pain. He had felt the edge of that sword more times than he can count. Tifa had scars from where it cut her. His friends and family had died by it, had died by the hands of the man that wield it was an alien grace.

And with his help, Sephiroth will be holding it again.

Cloud sighed. Well. At least the coffee was good.

The young man with brown hair was helping the Doc around the workshop, moving items around, and generally cleaning up. It was hard work, running a shop, but so far it's been rewarding with pancakes. Thousands of times better than those things down in the cafeteria.

Looking up from his latest task, he noticed Cloud staring at the sword. Grabbing a towel to wipe his hands off, he came up behind Cloud and looked at the sword, too.

"I never saw a sword like that before. It's pretty heavy," and he meant that literally this time. It was heavy and unwieldy, and he had to move it around the workshop, too. Looking over at Cloud, he gave a sheepish grin. "Cloud, right? I'm Marty."

[Hojo, who is in the process of exploring every floor, had been unlikely to miss anything as obvious as this assemblage with obvious intent on the workshop floor. He pauses to examine the computer, its screens, the assorted devices--he doesn't miss anything.

Of course, this means he can't help but notice Sephiroth's sword, and then, he can't help but smile.]

"Masamune was made for one man in mind, the General of the ShinRa electric Company's elite force: SOLDIER."

Cloud looked over at the young man. He was probably a couple years younger than him, but this Marty looked like whatever adventure he had touched him lightly. He had to have an adventure; with someone like this Doc Brown as a friend, he couldn't have just stayed at home and do nothing.

He set the coffee cup down and reached over. It felt wrong, but Cloud pushed back that feeling as he lifted the Masamune. It wasn't as heavy as it could be for a normal person, but it still weighed more than any other weapon outside of his First Ken.

"Doc did a good job," he said, looking the blade over for signs of repair. He didn't know the balance or the weight well, but he couldn't see any signs of scars on the metal, nor a bend in the line of the blade. "Sephiroth should be glad when he sees it."

He placed the sword down gently and reclaimed his cup. "Nice to meet you, Marty."

Oh look. It was quite possibly the world's biggest killjoy. First, because the level, which he had, admittedly, been using more and more often lately for smiting was now noisy with the sound of the Doc's tinkering machines, but his glare was increased once that pancake machine appeared.

Ingredients were already hard to get and he was hording the floor, and this guy was making pancakes like nothing was wrong. Did he not understand how they had to salvage the food? At least Aki wasn't around to toss protein powder on top, he might have exploded in anger.

If he had been more prideful, he probably would have been insulted by the fact he was upstaging him with the swords too, but honestly he wasn't one to take in jobs others asked. Shinjiro was still learning the trade last he had been practicing it, and from his corner he was mostly quiet as he continued to work the giant machine with the molten metal. If either of them looked over, they might also notice that sometimes the molten lava would hit him and it...didn't do anything. How bizarre.

Actually what was worse was when he moved around with the giant metal bars, lifting them with one hand like it wasn't a problem. The guy was strong, there was no doubt about it. He could be useful to help them move things around...

But if they wanted to befriend him, it would be up to them. Shinjiro mostly kept to himself, if he could.

"Yeah, nice to meet you," Marty said, offering his hand for a shake. "I can't say I ever heard of 'ShinRa' before, but that definitely is some kinda sword."

To be honest, Marty's eyes sort of bugged out when Cloud lifted the sword like it was nothing. These guys had to be like professional mercenaries, or maybe like those guys in Mega Mutants vs Alien Squad at the Arcade.
deloreandriver: (Yup)

[Marty notices a stranger taking a look at Doc's equipment, and sort of watches him for a while before approaching.]

Hi, can I help you? The name's Marty. I'm Doc Brown's assistant.

Coffee was not her usual, but a rarity here, apparently, and so Fran had helped herself to it. Pancakes, too. She did not question them, simply glad for something other than the cafeteria's nutrition bars. The next month was soon -- hopefully there would be improvement to the menu, otherwise, well.

Maybe one of those monsters lurking around the floors would make for a good roast.

She pauses in front of the Masamune, admiring its craftsmanship, and again, in front of the First Tsurugi's blueprints. The fingers of her free hand, the one not holding her cup, shift as she imagines the weight of the blade.

Eventually, she finds the super-computer. Allowing a respectable distance between the doctor and herself, she roams the separate screens, pausing at the third. A vehicle. Jagged, compared to those of Ivalice. Unsophisticated, almost.

Observation was only part of the reason why she'd come. Curiosity, of course, but want, too. She'd limited shots, see.

"Excuse me. Might I've a moment of your time?"

Suzaku had seen the announcement on the network even if he had not answered, but he went up to the floor to see what exactly this shop was.

He had known for a while, a long while, that he couldn't fight things here without weapons. His gun hadn't been in his chest and though he had a knife that he had taken from the kitchens it wasn't much use against the monsters.

He blinked at the man in front of the computer. "Hello?"

"It's one of a kind. I wish I could say the same about the man that wields it."

A little grim humor always made the coffee taste better. Granted the Remnants were only pieces of Sephiroth's will and not the man himself, but Hojo had attempted to imbue the blueprints of the General into Cloud and Zack with various results.

At Doc's random bit of information about Shinra, Cloud duck his head, wondering if the company had manage to crawl across space and time or if there was something else at work. From what he had seen so far, there were some concepts that translated to other worlds. Maybe it was just a coincidence.

"Thanks. I figured it would take Tsurugi the longest so no worry; I've got a couple stand-by weapons to last until then. I'm actually surprised that Sephiroth hasn't been here yet. Masamune is probably his most prized possession. And he gets grumpy without coffee."

Where did that tidbit come from? Cloud frowned to himself and then shrugged. Probably another piece that he managed to absorb during his missing four years.

She tilts her head in mild amusement. Words she knew not, but she'd snagged his attention all the same.

"You may call me Fran," she says, then shifts her weight. "You are the doctor advertised on the network?"

Pretty sure, with that get up, he couldn't be anyone but, but it couldn't hurt to confirm these things.

For once, the lure of good food had managed to catch Hei's attention in the right direction. In order to wait until night time to catch the prey he sought, he wanted to explore the tower more, kill time and possibly lay traps for the Deathclaw. And by doing so, he could gather more information by various people.

And considering the contraptions laid before his eyes, and the scientist right there, he hit the jackpot in the terms of what the hell. Everything looked fairly complicated, maybe not on Syndicate level, but then again, he didn't see much of their high-tech. Regardless, seeing the weapons and such displayed so openly, Hei had grown more curious. Did this guy work for the tower?

Only one way to find out, and that was to approach the doc from behind, arms crossed over his chest.

"If you actually work for the Tower, your defenses need work."

Sephiroth himself strode in the workshop a few minutes later, appearing a bit paler than usual, but no less stoic, professional. He gave a nod to those assembled and a bit of a jaunty salute to the Doc himself before feline green eyes lit up, they finding and settling on his beloved Masamune.

Perhaps it was some trick of the shop's light, but the sword itself seemed to respond with a soft blue-white aura at the General's approach, his left hand closing about the hilt with easy familiarity. As Cloud had done just a few moments before, Sephiroth lifted the great sword with a single hand, gaze traveling down the length of the blade, free gloved hand following with reverence, admiring the Doctor's handiwork.

The slender but powerful blade hummed through the air as Sephiroth slowly rotated it, bringing it back before his nose for a final contemplation. Then he nodded, more than satisfied.

"Excellent. Most excellent, indeed."

He glanced up and over at Doc Brown, inclining his head with sincere gratitude. "You have my thanks and more, Doctor."

[His approach isn't purposely soundless. To all appearances, Fuhito is a slight, young man with an intense expression and a quiet disposition. It's the little things that give him away as anything else-- and then only to the very perceptive.

Uninterested in pancakes or coffee, Fuhito lingers behind Doc, reading the computer screen over his shoulder and analyzing the image and interesting schematic calculations of the device shown on the left.]

So, you've managed time displacement-- fascinating.

[Hojo turns toward Marty.]

No, I'm not in need of any assistance. I'm only exploring the Tower.

[He's simply researching all the floors, taking samples where applicable, sampling kit in hand. All quite harmless, really! Any weapons he might be carrying are hidden away under his lab coat.]

As a relatively recent arrival, I've been getting my bearings. It appears you and--Doc Brown, is it?--are carrying on some interesting work here.

I am Professor Hojo.

[He takes in the data with a sweeping gaze. His primary focus is bioengineering, but he takes a healthy (or unhealthy) interest in all the sciences.] Very interesting indeed, I see.

At least he had rainbows. Most of the scientists Shinjiro had been mad scientists and control freaks. You had to forgive him somewhat. Apart from the fact that he was also Shinjiro, the emotionally distant as a general rule if he didn't know you.

Shinjiro looked down at the lava on the floor, cooling off to become a piece of metal. A little careless there, thanks to all those damn clocks. Geeze, the sound of them was even louder than the hydraulic hammer. He gave the Doc a unapologetic glare.

"No." But didn't explain why not. Instead he took the metal he had been working on and put it right back into the furnace, without the use of gloves or tongues.

Suzaku opened his mouth to speak but was interrupted by the cuckoo clocks. He almost smiled at the mans enthusiasm, his eyes lit up though it was tinted with sadness. He reminded him of Lloyd.

"What source of energy are you using?" He moved closer to look at the clocks.
