Which is stronger? Death, or a Deathclaw?
Who: Hei [OU] and Minako Arisato [OU]
When: 5/22; night
Where: Floor 11
Summary: Hei tries to kill a Deathclaw in a subtle manner...too bad someone ruins it for him.
Rating: PG-13 for violence
Time was running out. And yet somehow, Hei had managed to collect all the information he needed. Considering everything this tower held, there was no way he could afford to have something taken from him, and all for some dinner too. Whatever this Deathclaw was, he had feared it was going to be exactly like the sources had told him: a giant of a skinless lizard, one of enormous power and danger. In a straight up fight, he doubted he was going to get away unscathed. That coat was strong, but only really against bullets. Anything else like those claws, and he'd be dead.
This floor was the only one he knew of with a lake, and he was surprised to see the large creature already, walking around and constantly turning his head. Dear lord, even Hei's eyes had to widen slightly. Never before had he seen a creature of such size, save for maybe Harvest, if he could be counted. And those claws...there was no mistake, that was the creature he had to fight and kill, but not upfront! Years of experience of stealth, Hei carefully moved towards a bush of flowers, taking careful steps to make sure his movements were silent. The creature only stirred as other phantoms passed by, though they quickly fled from the creature's sight. Hei had to maintain a good distance as well. Too far away, Phantoms may come after him. Too close, and the Deathclaw would prey upon him. Tricky situation, but not impossible.
And it suddenly grew easier with the presence of a lake. No creature near it either. The perfect spot thanks to his abilities. Immediately, he moved close to it, hand ready to go inside of it. The Deathclaw neared the lake as well, just as planned, and incredible luck. Since the creature wasn't off killing the Phantoms, no doubt it was thirsty. Patiently, Hei waited, eyes never leaving the creature. Each second felt like a lifetime as the beast lowered its head, mouth close and ready to--
The creature suddenly raised its head, and Hei could swear his heart stopped. It wasn't at his own presence though. Rather, it was somewhere else, and the Deathclaw was walking off towards somewhere else. Poking his head out, Hei's eyes widened as he saw what appeared to be a....school girl? He swore a moment, moving out from the bushes. This was his battle, not someone else's. There was no way he could allow others to face this unnatural night.
