[ Needing to smile for his friends, huh.. It's a little surprising to her, the very tohught of it. She's never had too much contact with people that lasted, but to think he does and he's trying to keep strong for their sake.. it's surprising but more than anything admirable. The surprise lingers on her face at what he says next even more though, staring at that hand. ]

Kidou-kun.. You're saying you want me [ as in her specifically ] to smile?

[pengeen]

[He's a little surprised at that, lowering his hand a bit.] Of course I do.

I don't like seeing you depressed like this, I want to see you happy and enjoying yourself, like the first time we met.

[chainsawn]

.. Thanks. [ The answer comes slowly, but along with it she actually does start to smile. Not per se since he wanted it, but just because it's so nice to have someone care for her. Especially now Tara is gone it's a good reminder. ]

I feel really glad to hear it. That's right, those words make me happy.

[pengeen]

[He smiles again, then, and offers his hand once more.]

Let's do our best for the remainder of this, okay?

[chainsawn]

[ This time she properly stretches out her own arm as well so she can grab his hand and get up with his help. ]

I'll try my very best. It's what I promised Tara too, so.. I can't not try my best.

[ For a moment she glances downwards a little again, but it's still with that smile. ] You're.. a kind person, Kidou-kun.

[pengeen]

[He helps her up then, and takes her other hand into his own, blushing a little bit.] Ah, thank you.

[And then he starts moving, slowly at first so Urotsuki can get the hang of it, to the rhythm of Zelda's harp.]

[chainsawn]

[ It takes a moment or two for her to realise what's going on, what they're doing. But slowly she starts to realise after it that they're dancing. It's something she's only seen people do rather than doing it herself, so it's a little new and strange.. but in a good way. She's a little awkward with the steps as if she's afraid of standing on his toes, but it's fun to do-- so she's glad, and it shows in her expression. ]

.. The music's nice. [ She doesn't dare to speak up until she's gotten the hang of it at least a little bit. ]

[pengeen]

[Kidou's about just as awkward as Urotsuki, though he has a bit more experience with partner dancing. Still, he's making sure to keep an eye on Urotsuki and not go too fast for her (or trip over his own feet).]

Yeah, it is. [And he lifts his arm, indicating that he wants her to twirl underneath it.]

[chainsawn]

[ She actually stares at the arm for a bit - she's trying to understand the cue.. but then the cogs in her head start to slip into place and she nods, doing exactly that twirling.

Except in the middle of the twirl she manages to trip over her own feeth instead, starting to fall to the floor. ]

[pengeen]

[The smile was still on his face as she twirls but when she starts to slip, his smile turns into a worried frown and he moves to catch her, and he sighs in relief as he successfully holds her in his arms.]

Are you okay?

[chainsawn]

Ah-.. [ There's a moment of surprise when she doesn't hit the ground, since she even already closed her eyes mid-fall. But once she opens them she notices that she was caught instead. There's surprise at first, but then it quickly turns into.. well, maybe being flustered, considering her face lights up just a little. ]

.. Yes. .. I'm.. fine. Thank you, Kidou-kun..

[pengeen]

[He helps her stand again and smiles, relieved.] I'm sorry, I went too fast for you, didn't I?

[chainsawn]

No, it's my fault. I'm just.. not really used to something like this, so I'm not really good at it. [ her own look is still slightly awkward. ]

.. Sorry.

[pengeen]

It's alright. My father would hold formal parties and others would often ask for dances, so I've been taught how to dance for those kind of occasions. [Dancing by himself though would only be terrible. He can only partner dance.]

[chainsawn]

.. Did they used to ask you for dances too, Kidou-kun?

It must have been nice to be that popular..

[pengeen]

Ah, I was only popular with the people there because of my father. He's a prestigious and rich man, they wanted to know what kind of son he had, since I would inherit his company after he couldn't work any longer.

[chainsawn]

You were going to inherit a big company back home? [ .. It makes her think for a moment though. Her own parents are rather rich too, after all, so.. maybe she can relate to him a little? Even if her own parents are always a touchy topic. ]

.. Hmm.. Hey, Kidou-kun? Did you get along well with your parents?

[pengeen]

It's only my father and I, and we get along fine. [A pause] He didn't really spend much of his time with me when I was younger, so we never really had any conflict about anything. And even now, he has a busy schedule, and that makes it hard for him to do much with me even though he would like to make up for lost time.

[chainsawn]

.. I didn't see my parents much either. No.. I hardly saw them at all until I got to this place. I almost didn't even talk with them the last while before I got here.. [ it's a little difficult to talk about it, but.. if he can say it that easily, she should be able to do the same, right? she just has to try. ]

So I guess I can understand it a little.

[pengeen]

[He smiles sadly at that] ...to be honest, I was adopted into the Kidou family. I don't really relate to my father well because even though I've been living with him for the last 6 years, he's still a bit of a stranger to me. [His eyebrows furrow a little]

I was raised by someone else, and he taught me how to be everything I am today. That man was like my other father, and I looked up to him almost like a god.

[chainsawn]

You have.. two 'fathers'? [ Even if they aren't real ones, per se.. Although that last part makes her even more curious. ] He sounds like a good person though, that other father. It does sound like you liked him a lot..

[pengeen]

He has done some unforgivable things in the past, but he was a good person at heart. [Thinking about Kageyama was almost painful now, and he could feel his eyes threatening to water up.

It's a good thing he has his goggles on.]

He taught me how to play soccer well, and I wouldn't have been able to meet my teammates without him. He was stoic and intimidating, I almost never knew what he was thinking. But that was something I found endearing about him.

[chainsawn]

[ she quietly stares for a few moments before speaking up. ]

Even if he did do some things like those.. that doesn't matter. From the way you speak about him, he sounds like a really great person. Someone you speak so fondly of couldn't be bad.

[pengeen]

[He nods in agreement] I actually got these goggles from him. They help me focus on the spinning and dropping point of a soccer ball when in game, in other words they helped me with stealing, passing, dribbling, and keeping the ball. I don't need them anymore, I've been wearing them long enough that it's natural for me now, but I keep them on because they're my trademark.



...and because they're one of the only things I have to remember him by.

[chainsawn]

I think they suit you. They make you.. look cool. I think my own glasses I sometimes wear can't compare.. [ But it's not like she needs those either way, her eyesight is just fine - so she hardly even wear them. She hasn't even done so since coming here.

After a second she thoughtfully adds: ]

.. Um.. what do you look like without them..? I don't think you've taken them off yet, not where I could see.
