Hacking #01: Intro
Characters: April and anyone
Setting: Starting in room 1-15 and then in different areas in the tower.
Format: Brackets, but I can match you!
Summary: One technopath arrives in the tower and is very unhappy about the message, before she sets off exploring.
Warnings: Possibly high levels of derp.
[Room 1-15]
[... This had to be a joke. There was no way her home was destroyed. It had to be a lie, it had to be. She frowns at the letter she recieved, proceeding to tear it up when she could move again.]
Ugh... What the hell is all this...? [She reaches up to tug at the collar around her neck and frowns at her current outfit. Once she finds the trunk containing her things, she goes to get changed into her usual clothes.]
[Hallways]
[Having now gotten changed and wearing a trenchcoat way too big for her, April proceeds to set off exploring, though she is a bit unamused at the lights flickering.]
Hey, can't you stay on? [She glances up at them, her eyes taking on a odd pale green glow, while the lights flicker again, as if in reply. The lights seem to try to stay on for a few moments, before they pitifully flicker out. The red-head sighs quietly, the glow from her eyes fading.]
... Well, at least you tried...
[Floor Twenty-Five: Meadow]
[Having stumbled across the meadow floor, April just stares at it in shock. Having come from a wasteland, seeing this much greenery, or any at all, is something completely new to her.]
N-no way... [She hesitantly crouches down to gently touch one of the flowers, almost in disbelief.] T-they're real...
[Floor Three: Library]
[With a small ball of electricity acting as a light, April browses the aisles of the library, looking rather amazed at seeing so many books. She occasionally pulls out a random one to skim through it, before continuing having a look.]
Nothing on history then? Kinda disappointing...

Floor 25!
Hey there. Are you new here? I think I'd remember seeing someone as pretty as you.
no subject
Ah, um... Y-y-yeah, I'm new... W-where are we?
no subject
This place? No one knows what to call it, so people just call it the tower. There's people from all kinds of worlds here.
no subject
Wait.
What.] ... W-worlds?

Well, he's seen stranger types where he comes from, really. And hey, it's a girl, so he wanders over all the same. She doesn't seem too crazy just yet compared to most girls he knows either way. ]
Y'know, I don't think talking to them will help anything. In case you didn't realise.

most of the time. She turns to glance at him and gives a faint shrug.]
I don't tend talk out load when I talk to electronics, but I was kinda frustrated. I can usually fix something like this, but I guess the power is really wonky here...
no subject
Fix it-.. ah, you're an electrician or something like that? [ at least he perks up a little at that. ] Are you sure you can't take a look at the power? It's been weird all month and it's such a pain with the lights and all..
no subject
no subject
We could look for it, but.. it's usually pretty dangerous around here. Or more like lately with the power half out and all.

[Tara speaks from the other side of the shelf without looking up from her book. She doesn't recognize April, but she doesn't recognize a great many people here, and dangers in the form of people are much, much lower on her list of worries and fears at the moment than dangers in the form of malnutrition and starvation.
But, just in case April isn't about to try and eat her brains like pudding, Tara is more than willing to pass along the advice. Research should be everyone's friend right about now.]
no subject
Hmm... I did notice there seems to be a lack of food around here, besides that... goo stuff I had before. Ah, thank you.
no subject
It's been going on, um, all month. They usually, um, give us food, though, so we're...k-kind of all freaking out.
[They were all floundering for more reasons than that, but Tara didn't see the need to drag a newcomer into the matter of the people trapped in the pods.
Tara, however, doesn't look as though she's spent nearly three weeks foraging. In fact, she looks remarkably healthy.]
no subject
[She frowns and tilts her head.] So... they've pretty much left this place unattended for a month, though new people are still being brought in? That's... weird and stupidly irresponsible.
[April does notice she looks healthy, and she gives her a curious look. She's seen people who've gone without food for a while and Tara certainly doesn't look it.]
no subject
I, um, I guess they think it's better than...well, w-whatever happened to our worlds. [If something happened to them.] I, um, I only saw them once a week. I, I guess they had time to do...whatever it is they do to bring people here. [They were almost certainly being monitored in the pods, perhaps they'd just gone over the relevant footage when it was time to determine winners.]

I have looked for history. You will find none.
[He says this with his face buried in a book. Even though he's less likely to be killed on sight here, he hasn't quite broken his practice of hiding his vampiric face in public.]
no subject
Ah, that sucks... What kind of books are there, then?
no subject
[He misses a lot of his favorite works from home, but has found a fair few to enjoy.]
no subject
Fiction books? Like fairy tales and stuff?

He was borrowing books though to read, not giving up on his attempt to learn everything that he didn't know.
He heard the voice and turned to it, blinking in the light of the EMR he was carrying and the ball of light in her hand.] No, there are no history books at all.
no subject
But... there are loads of other kinds of books here, right?
no subject
His face lights up at the question] There are so many, about almost anything you can think of!
no subject
[Though April seems to cheer up a bit at what he says.] Really? So then, there's books on technology and stuff like that?
no subject
it had destroyed a lot of books as well, though No. 6 had done the rest. He nodded though with a grin at the question.] Yes, there's technology books, I can show you if you like. I work here, when... when we have power and stuff...
