.. Hm? [ She sounds almost surprised by the question, she didn't see it coming, after all.

But after a moment she shifts a little as she thinks about it, closing her eyes for a moment even though she doesn't sleep. ]

No. I'm an only child. .. Why? Do you have any, Kidou-kun?

[pengeen]

Just one. A younger sister. [He smiles a little] Her name is Otonashi Haruna, and she's a year younger then me.

Because our parents we're out a lot thanks to their jobs, Haruna and I grew really close very fast. We were left alone most of the time, after all.

[He lifts his arm so he could rest his chin on his hand] Even after we were adopted into separate families and were unable to talk to each other for years, she still looked up to me as her older brother.

...I'm very thankful.

[chainsawn]

It sounds nice. [ And she sounds content at it, even though it doesn't involve her personally. She's probably imagining what it's like, that's where the tone is coming from. ]

That means you two are close even if you haven't talked.. it's like you're never alone.

[pengeen]

In a way, it is. [Ah thinking about his kawaii younger sister is making him a bit melancholy, time for a subject change]

Are there anyone from your home here in the Tower with you? [...no not the best subject to switch too]

[chainsawn]

[ all these melancholic subjects-- but Urotsuki just goes quiet for a few moments before softly shaking her head a little even as she's lying there. ]

Just me. [ ... ] But.. that's fine. Even back home, it was just me a lot of the time. So it's the same..

[pengeen]

[...oh...] Well it's different now, isn't it? Because you have new friends here, it's not just you anymore.

[chainsawn]

Yes. That's why I like this place.

[ After all, here she is, lying next to him and sharing his jacket - not to mention all the other nice people she's talked to. ]

Even if this place can be cruel.. I'm not alone here. That's why I like it more here than back home, even..

[pengeen]

[He nods.] I know what you mean. Before, when I didn't have Sakuma or Genda or Haruna here with me, I still felt alright here because I made other friends. I didn't feel as helpless or alone.

[He moves his hand out from underneath his chin and rests his head in his arms, sighing a little bit.]

[chainsawn]

[ She opens her eyes just so she can glance over to him a little. ]

You were here before any of them were..?

[pengeen]

I was here two months prior to them, since March.

[chainsawn]

March? [ The word seems to surprise her quite a bit, and for a moment it's almost like she might move up in shock - but she doesn't, remaining lying next to him instead. ]

But.. that's so long ago. And yet you still seem fine..

[pengeen]

Well that's because I'm trying my hardest not to let anything get to me.

[chainsawn]

That's why Kidou-kun's so brave. Even if things like this happen often.. [ ... ] I think it could get pretty scary for people if there are a lot of these things.

[pengeen]

Yeah. [He nods.] To be honest, it was a lot harder when I first arrived. I didn't know anyone at all, and shortly after I was thrown into an event like this which I explained the first time we met.

[He laughs a little bit, sadly.] I couldn't look at my soccer ball after that event, since I had carried it with me the whole time. Every time I looked at it, it reminded me just how terrifying that was.

[chainsawn]

But you made it through, right..? [ which is really admirable and the important part to her, really. She still firmly believes she was only able to get through this thanks to everyone else. ]

And now.. you're this strong. You probably know a lot of people, and you're helping out others.. it's great.

[pengeen]

[And there's a bit of a blush starting to overrun his cheeks] You think so? [He doesn't feel like he's really been doing anything great at all]

[chainsawn]

Of course. You helped me out a lot here, so.. that already means you're stronger than me, right? [ she just smiles, as if she obliviously doesn't even notice the blush. ] I think someone who's strong enough to help out others is really great..

[pengeen]

Just because I've helped you out doesn't mean you're not strong, Urotsuki. Even the strongest of people need help sometimes.

[chainsawn]

Well.. I didn't say I'm weak.. [ but she doesn't really think of herself as strong either way. ]

Just that you're stronger. .. And more amazing, too..

[pengeen]

I don't think that I am.... [He smiles over at her]


But I do think that you're amazing too, Urotsuki.

[chainsawn]

[ oh gosh, she gets a little blushy now.. they're just going to end up complimenting each other into forever like this, huh? ]

It means a lot to me when it's you saying it..

Yes. Because Kidou-kun is someone who's so amazing to me, and.. [ she isn't sure how to word it - it might sound too clingy if she tells the truth, since she's so easily attached to people, right? but.. ] .. someone important to me.

[Oh no, he thought he was done with the blushing but nope, his face is starting to get pretty red. It's not often that he hears things like that, after all.]

...really? [He.. doesn't know what else to say. Usually it goes without saying that he's important to others like his sister or his soccer team but when it's actually brought to attention, he's a bit at a lost for words or he changes the subject to something more pressing at the time.]

.. Y-.. yes, really. [ It's somewhat awkward to repeat it, but she does all the same - nodding her head a little to herself. ]

That's.. not a bad thing, is it?
