Summary: Futomimi discovers sleep paralysis and fishes. Not together.
Warnings: None so far.

Sleep paralysis would not be so bad without the impression of something terrible looming over him. After ten extremely long minutes, Futomimi can finally sit up in his unknown bed, looking around the room with wide eyes, his heart thumping and his hair askew.

After having found his usual clothes in the trunk at the foot of his bed and changed, Futomimi set off to explore this strange new world whose rules allowed him, a Manikin, to live. On his way down the Tower, the sight and sound of water caught his attention, and he entered Floor 10. There was indeed water there, but it was suspended by some kind of magic and full of living creatures swimming peacefully. Futomimi was so fascinated by the sight he forgot to look where he was going.

I am quite fond of meditation. I would call it my main hobby, though it can also be work.

I can't say I've ever tried meditating myself. What do you mean by "it can also be work"?

I am a foreseer. I use my ability to guide my people toward a future without slavery and pain, where everyone is equal, and meditation helps me see further ahead.

[ Aphrodi's eyes widen in surprise. He didn't think abilities like that existed. ]

It's a good thing you're trying to do. [ He feels like he should be taking notes. ]

[foreseeing_one]

Yes. It's very rare, and I can only see the near future, but I have never been wrong to date.

*He smiles a little. Would you believe you're one of the first telling him he's doing a good thing?* Thank you.

That's amazing... [ Aphrodi is in awe. Even if it is the near future, the ability to see what has not yet happened is incredibly cool. ]

*Futomimi's smile widened.* I'm also glad we're roommates. *Could this be the start of a beautiful friendship?*

I'd show you around the tower, but I've just arrived myself. [ He points to the trunk at the end of Futomimi's bed. ]

Your clothes should be in there, and some other stuff.

[foreseeing_one]

Really? *Futomimi approaches the trunk as if he thought it would bite him, then opened it carefully. His clothes were indeed in the trunk.* How did you know?

[errandwings]

[ Aphrodi shrugs. ]

Mine were! I had guessed that yours would be as well.

[foreseeing_one]

It's most welcome, *he said as he pulled his clothes from the trunk: sandals carved from a plank of wood, a coarse-looking robe with a rope attached to it, a sash and a ribbon. He removed the Tower's space uniform and dressed himself with practised ease despite the complicated knots involved in tying his robe and sash in place, to say nothing of raising his silky hair into his usual topknot can wrapping the ribbon around the base, the two extremities perfectly symmetrical.*

[ He turns around to give Futomimi his privacy while he dresses. When he thinks he can't hear anything else, he asks, ]

Are you done?

[foreseeing_one]

Yes, I am. *Futomimi hadn't been bothered by you watching or not, anyway.* I feel a little better already.

[errandwings]

[ Aphrodi will turn back around once Futomimi is done and smiles. ]

There's something comforting about being in your own clothes, isn't there?

[foreseeing_one]

Absolutely. I did not feel comfortable in the clothes I was given, they were much too tight. In fact, this collar bothers me as well... *He tries tugging on it, but of course nothing happens.*

[errandwings]

[ Aphrodi nods in agreement. ]

Unfortunately, I don't know what they are for. I hope it's nothing bad, though. [ He gives a few tugs on his own, but with no avail. ]
