☆ Brief Moment of Rest
Characters: Anguished One and open!
Setting: Floor 29
Format: I'll match you guys~
Summary: Alcor gets his regain, ponders his room's disappearances, and begins to regain peace of mind.
Warnings: Saiduq being calm, aaaaahhhhh!!! Run for your livesssssssss!!!!!!!!!
When he returned from the event, Alcor had mostly been focused on a very important fact- Nyarlathotep was nowhere to be seen. He searched high and low, skimmed and scanned the entire tower over several times, and could not find a trace of the Crawling Chaos. Well, outside of the usual. And that which he wasn't sure he could attribute to Nyarly.
He was suspicious, but allowed himself to take the moment as a reprieve nonetheless. There were those he wanted direly to catch up with, and yet he found himself needing time to himself. Alcor had received a 'gift' after the closing of the infighting, and waited until he arrived on floor 29 to even consider opening it. He floated up to settle atop one of the hedges, settling in comfortably before unwrapping the small, unfamiliar box. He was curious, truth be told, since he had no possessions to speak of.
Well, that apparently was not so anymore- within the jewelry box was a silver necklace. At first, Saiduq looked at it sourly, and considered closing it up and storing it away. But, this was the first thing he'd ever willingly considered wearing, a thought he idly toyed with as he fidgeted with the charm. Eventually, Alcor he pulled it out, and set it about his neck. The box was set behind him, and he once again reclined back on the top of the hedge.
He felt...better, somehow. And from such a simple token. Maybe the past month's travails had been worth it.

Even if he had been 'asleep'- even if he'd been unconscious , he would have known that soul. Alcor wouldn't turn a blind eye to the first children, not by a long shot. However, he kept himself where he was, waiting for Naoya to walk closer, along the wall Saiduq was resting on. Cain always knew the truth of his reincarnations, so there would be no spooking him on that front.
"Seeking out more knowledge, or is this simply idle passing~?"
...but making him jump would be amusing, at the very least.

"Just looking for something to pass my time. It's so terribly boring here some days."
Still, this creature intrigued him... he'd stay and chat for a while, or as long as he was entertained or interested.
no subject
"You've always been quick to bore, and quicker to seek the passing of time. What reincarnation are you on now, Cain? I feel I may have lost track of you after so many years."
Interested yet, Naoya?
no subject
"The number of incarnation's lost significance, though it's been around five and a half millennia."
Oh, he's interested. But he'll take his time.
no subject
"I'm glad you've grown so strong. I wish time was not such a light concept to me, or I would have felt old myself."
Saiduq shifted on the hedge, dangling his legs over the edge and peering down at Naoya with his normal, if a little unsettling, smile. Ever cautious, ever curious.
"Who are you in this life? It would be crass to call you 'Cain', I know that much."
no subject
Hedges, why are you so terrible to lean against? Starbro why do you cheat.
"As for yourself? I'm afraid I'm having difficulty placing you."
no subject
"Naoya..." He rolled the name around, letting it stick before leaning down a little more, elbows on his knees.
"Do you remember looking up at the stars at night? I visited you and your brother many times when you were young. The birth of mankind's first generation...it was a monumental occasion to me. I was nameless, back then. I suppose Al Khawwar was accurate enough, it was the name I took early on in your reincarnations." You know, after Arabic had become a language. Which, actually, reminded him.
"I tried to teach you language outside of YHVH's tongue- Ξ&Δβ%. Do you remember now?"
no subject
But he's quiet for a moment, while a memory surfaces from far in the past - amemory of looking up at the sky when he was small, and hearing something that was almost music, but without a real rhythm or tone. He chuckles quietly, and then looks back up at Alcor.
"Al Suha - the forgotten one. Yes... I remember you now."
no subject
"It is good to see you again. It has been quite...unfamiliar here." He gave a small, quick look of displeasure. "I cannot see the Record, and I have felt so distant from humanity. But, this meeting has brightened me."
It was good to know some things survived no matter what- and of course it would be Cain.
no subject
"Some things don't change. It was a shame to see the stars disappear when the demon world grew so close - you're all still there, of course... the sky is just obscured."
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news starbro.

Except when he got there, jumped into the air, and turned into a pidgeon, he spotted Alcor and flew over to him.
"Hey! You okay?"
no subject
Saiduq placed his other hand at his collarbone, running his fingertips up the necklace's chain. "It seems I received something more favorable than most have."
no subject
Taro perches on Alcor's hand, tilting his head a little. "I'm glad you got something nice."
no subject
"Have you been better since that competition? I do appreciate all you did there, for myself and the others."
no subject
"I'm glad it helped. But... better? That's debatable. The tower gave me something I had on me when I died. It's kind of frustrating."
no subject
He didn't like the quiet sadness he felt at the 'died' part, of course, but Alcor had always operated with death being a strange concept, something that could be dodged through the record if it wasn't truly fated. It had never made him distressed like the tower did. Maybe he was learning the depths of a mortal's struggle more acutely than he would have otherwise. "Regardless of where we come from, we are here now. And I am glad you're here."

He let the silence become companionable for a bit, eventually drawing his hand up to let Taro chill on his shoulder. Frankly, it'd probably be more comfy.
"Might I ask a favor of you?"

Though she soon spots what looks like... someone sitting on the top of the hedge and she walks a bit closer, curiously peering up at him.
no subject
That's a horrible pun, self. However, when he felt someone come closer, he turned his eyes away, glancing down at the unfamiliar redhead. She hadn't spoken, and this just made him smile.
"It is much easier to find one's way when you aren't confined by walls."
no subject
"... Ah, yeah, it is. But I don't mind the challenge, even if I did get badly lost the first time I walked through here."
no subject
Alcor, humans weigh more than a hedge. Alcor, stop. Alcor, humans can't fly.
"I cannot attest to the challenge, though I also find myself listless with activities here. I suppose it is as good a trial as anything else."
no subject
"It'll keep me distracted for a while, at least. Though the tower seems to be full of lots of interesting things." But since she's from a wasteland, practically everything is new and interesting to her.
no subject
He's never climbed anything, he just knows humans can do it and it doesn't seem too difficult. Then again, maybe it's like jumping and is harder than it seems.
"Interesting, but born from malady. This tower has a horrible disease."
no subject
April's experiences with climbing usually resulted in her falling onto her back most of the time. So she would claim that it's difficult.
"Yeah, I've... heard about what's happened here. It sounds really horrible." She frowns faintly and looks down at the ground, shifting her feet.

Walking along, he memorised where he turned and anything that would help. It's almost like traversing without Fuuka or Mitsuru as support.

Saiduq deftly hovered down on to the other side of the wall from Minato, keeping silent and following him through quick peeks over the hedge. In a few junctures, then he'd be ready to spring out and surprise him.
no subject
And then he stopped it after a while, seeing a corner ahead of him.
no subject
Hopefully he wouldn't miss his opportunity and awkwardly have to explain what he was doing.
