Serene through the bubbly blue and green
Characters: Amaterasu, Open
Settings: Floor 10
Format: I'll be prose, you be whichever
Summary: Amaterasu explores her first glassless aquarium
Warnings: N/A
Ammy padded through the giant room, peering quizzically at the fish inside the tanks of water. Well, 'tanks', anyway, since they didn't seem to be held in by glass of any kind. What was making the water keep its shape, anyway? She approached a large enclosure, one filled with brightly-colored angelfish, corals, and anemones, then stuck her snout up against the wall of water -- only to end up shoving her head into the water, with no resistance at all.
She snapped at a passing fish; it reacted as any other would, swimming frantically away from her jaws in a panic and burrowing itself in between the corals to hide. Puzzled, she drew her head back out out and shook the water vigorously from her fur, sending droplets flying in a wide arc.
Weeeird.

Experimentally, she shoved her head into the water in front of her and snapped at one of the goldfish.

"Th-They're, um, sort of like emergency food." Or at least that's how Tara had been treating them. "F-For when we don't have any. I mean, y-you could eat them, but w-we really shouldn't make them refill the aquarium so often."
She sighs, and shakes her head before speaking in a puzzled, dazed sort of voice. "I'm talking to a dog..."

Alas, without Issun here, she couldn't actually ask what she wanted to know. What should she do...?

"...I wonder if you still have toe at oatmeal...all the, um, the new people here, th-they eat oatmeal. I mean, I-I'm sure I'd remember seeing someone like you are around before."
But it was a very big tower, Tara was prepared to admit.

Ammy watched as Tara approached and settled down on her haunches, not retreating or approaching for the moment. After a moment, she scratched at her ear with her left leg.

"I wish I knew a 't-talk with animals' spell. Guess even, um, m-mystical animals can't always talk."
But, well, she's still a bit nervous about making use of magic for anything beyond avoiding death by Persona.

Hmm... so she was some kind of a magician? Ammy nosed at the profferred hand with her snout. Her nose was cold and wet, as it should be.

That was...well, reassuring. And a bit not, but mostly it was reasssuring.
Tara hesitantly reached out to pat Ammy on the head. "I'm Tara. And...I-I guess you can't tell me your name. Um...sorry."
