Ammy padded through the giant room, peering quizzically at the fish inside the tanks of water. Well, 'tanks', anyway, since they didn't seem to be held in by glass of any kind. What was making the water keep its shape, anyway? She approached a large enclosure, one filled with brightly-colored angelfish, corals, and anemones, then stuck her snout up against the wall of water -- only to end up shoving her head into the water, with no resistance at all.

She snapped at a passing fish; it reacted as any other would, swimming frantically away from her jaws in a panic and burrowing itself in between the corals to hide. Puzzled, she drew her head back out out and shook the water vigorously from her fur, sending droplets flying in a wide arc.

Weeeird.

And, in doing so, Ammy will hear a squeal from just to her right as a good many of the droplets spraying from her fur land on Tara.

After a few seconds, she risks lowering her arms to stare at the wolf that had captured her attention enough to draw her in splash range in the first place.

"...h-hi."

Is it hungry and is it likely to eat her? These are important questions, when you come from Sunnydale.

Ammy drew back in surprise at the sudden noise, turning to see a girl that had managed to sneak up on her. She bounded several yards away, well out of throwing-things range, then stopped. When she regarded Tara once more, it was from behind a blob of water filled with several shimmering goldfish.

And when Tara regarded Ammy once more, it was from the other side of a blob of water filled with several shimmering gold fish.

It was, perhaps, the most tentative standoff ever. Tara finally musters up the courage to break it by speaking.

"...y-you can eat the fish, I guess, but, um, y-you really shouldn't. I-I'm sure there's something you can eat in the cafeteria."

Not that she knows what. The menu this month can politely be described as "eccentric".

Was there not going to be any throwing of things? Ammy's ears pricked as Tara began speaking; her head tilted slightly to the side. Why shouldn't she eat the fish? Was there something wrong with them?

Experimentally, she shoved her head into the water in front of her and snapped at one of the goldfish.

Shinji loved dogs. Perhaps passing by here was simply fate, but he quickly noticed the canine-like entity inside that didn't look like a monster. Could it be...

No, definitely not Koromaru. The color looked the same, and it made him a little sad that the dog wasn't here with them. And, well neither did this look completely like a dog, as it was large enough to be a wolf. There was a regal feeling about the way it moved too, and he couldn't explain quite why. Regardless, the iron-stone facade that he used with...well nearly everyone was dropped and he bent his knees to get a better look at her.

"Hey. You okay?" His voice was usually soft and kind-hearted, something few others would ever get to bare witness to.

Ammy made her way over to Shinji, openly curious. It was rare for people to actually go out of their way to show interest in her. Usually, she just caught them in the middle of a day's work or complaining about their missing laundry line or something.

But he seemed nice enough. She placed one of her front paws on his foot and barked in reply.

He didn't understand a word he said of course - after all he wasn't Aigis - but Shinji was surprisingly knowledgeable about canines in general and Koromaru had been very expressive enough for him to catch on what he wanted. Besides, no monster in the tower would have been that bold.

He grinned back (once he was sure no one else saw that). There was no attempt at petting her; after all if they were in the tower, there had to be a reason, and they might take it as an offense.

"D'you have a name?"

Ammy barked again, but she wasn't holding out much hope. In the absence of anyone to translate for her, she'd just have to resign herself to whatever nickname Shinji thought up. Hopefully, it was more imaginative than 'Dog'. Seriously, what was up with that?

She bumped his leg with the side of her head. Seemed like this guy liked dogs, which was cool with her. Maybe she'd get some snacks out of him.

There was someone familiar swimming in said weird ocean turned weird room. Someone she had met in an almost similar way, at least in the fact that Xue had been swimming previously too. But truthfully, that would be a common way of finding the water loving trolless.

Ammy did a double-take. Hey, didn't she recognize those boobs that lady? Yeah, from the pool!

She bounded over to the section of water in which Xue was swimming, stopping just short of the border between air and ocean. Then she gave two short barks in greeting, tail wagging.

Even underwater, Xue's keen hearing picked up the familiar barks and turned to face the direction where they came from, soon smiling at the sight. She swam a few loops around some coral before speeding off towards Ammy and doing a short flip out of the water a bit of a distance away as to not get her wet.

Soon after she made her way over and knelt in front of Ammy with a bright smile. "'Ey der! Didn't tink I be seein' joo anywhere near watah." she joked as she scratched behind Ammy's ears. "But it sure be nice ta see ya mon."

Well, it wasn't that Ammy couldn't go in the water -- after all, she had visited the Dragon Palace. And it helped that this place, at least, didn't smell like chlorine. In fact, some of the water seemed like genuine ocean water. But still.

She closed her eyes as Xue scratched behind her ears, rubbing up against Xue's leg. Ahh.

[There's something else zipping around in the water. It might be a very large person-sized fish, or it might be a person. After a few more moments, whatever it is finally slows and drops out of its streamlined position to reveal that it is, in fact, a person. Of... some sort. He'd been swimming effortlessly through the water in a Superman-style position, but now he's floating, turning in place and just... watching the fish, peacefully.

And then he notices Amaterasu. For his first glance, he sees only a white dog, but when he double-takes, he sees the wolf with her red markings. (Uncertainty about your own gods sure makes things tricky.)

Curious, he swims over to the wall the wolf is by and steps out of it.]

A doggy...? You don't seem like one of the monsters...

Ammy looked over her shoulder at Link curiously, then stood, making her way over to sniff at him. Hmm. Unfamiliar, but not wholly unpleasant.

She caught a sign of movement out of the corner of her eye and suddenly turned, snapping at the water. The trout motored past, evading her jaws with a slight flip of its tail to change direction.

Ammy looked supremely disappointed.

Hmm. Well. Link pauses for a moment. It's clear the doggy wants some fish... And he's in his Zora form...

"Do you want some help catching fish?" Link asks. "I should be able to help, if you don't wanna get too wet."

Fleetingly, he thinks of the Mask of Truth, which lets him talk to animals; he's even mostly used it to talk to dogs. He decides against it for now, though. He'll be able to help the doggy more in his Zora form right now.

Ammy cocked her head at him. Link looked almost like he was a fish. But she barked anyway, nosing once more at the block of water with all the fish inside.

Puru Two stopped when she saw the wolf. She never actually encountered such a creature, especially one so colorful. She feared it was a threat, yet sensed nothing of note that made it hostile. It was strange to say the least. Just what in the world was this creature?

Ammy's ears pricked up at the sound of Puru's approach; she turned, and...

Huh. Didn't recognize this lady. She barked at Puru in greeting, but made no move to approach yet.

Damn, the thing noticed her. She jumped a bit, moving backwards. Honestly, she had no idea as to how to interpret what the white wolf was saying. Still, no hostility. What was she gonna do?

"Um...hi?"

She didn't know if animals knew human language, but to hell with it.

In all his time in the Tower, Riku had seen many strange things. Doubles from alternate dimensions, monsters, labyrinths of death... And yet, somehow, the sight of a wolf trotting around the aquarium was enough to catch him off guard. Maybe it's because she didn't look like a monster, and most wild animals hung out on the other floors. Did that mean this wolf got dragged here like everyone else?

Well, rather than just stand there, he opted to waltz right up to her for a closer look. And given the collar around her neck, it wasn't hard to put two and two together.

"Didn't think they'd bring animals here."

Not that he's complaining, of course. Still, Ammy might notice some familiarity in his voice; even if he's younger than the other Riku, he's a double all the same.

Ammy stopped, sniffed the air, then turned in the direction of -- huh?

She trotted her way over to Riku, confused. He sure smelled like Riku, but on the other hand, unless he'd taken some shrinking pills...

She sniffed the air again, then tried to bump him with her snout to see if he was really there.

Well, given that he didn't vanish into thin air, that was a pretty clear indication that he was actually there. He can already tell there's some confusion on her part. That, or curiosity, maybe. Sometimes, it was hard to tell with animals.

But, then again, maybe she'd seen his double. It wasn't like that hadn't happened before. Whether or not this dog would understand him still remained to be seen, but it was worth a shot.

"You know anyone that looks like me?"

Man, he probably sounded silly right about now. Then again, he'd met with talking cards-- intelligent wolves were hardly strange by comparison.

[Issun's always passed through this floor pretty darn quickly - the water's always made him nervous, how it just floats like that!! - but getting soaked by a rogue drop of water made him stop.]

Ammy blinked, then sniffed at the tiny Poncle currently clinging to her nose. Clearly it was time for a joyous, tear-filled reunion, one filled with old stories and reminiscing and...

...yeah, no. Ammy opened her jaws wide, tossed her head back, and tried to catch Issun in her mouth. Because obviously she had to make sure he tasted like Issun, too. And also cover him in wolf drool because that was how she rolled.
