Ammy padded through the giant room, peering quizzically at the fish inside the tanks of water. Well, 'tanks', anyway, since they didn't seem to be held in by glass of any kind. What was making the water keep its shape, anyway? She approached a large enclosure, one filled with brightly-colored angelfish, corals, and anemones, then stuck her snout up against the wall of water -- only to end up shoving her head into the water, with no resistance at all.

She snapped at a passing fish; it reacted as any other would, swimming frantically away from her jaws in a panic and burrowing itself in between the corals to hide. Puzzled, she drew her head back out out and shook the water vigorously from her fur, sending droplets flying in a wide arc.

Weeeird.

Ammy spat Issun back at, tail wagging. But if she felt any remorse for soaking his clothes in drool, she didn't show it.

Issun, where had you been? Where was this? Where were all these people from? And why didn't they serve normal food around here?

(The last question was very important.)

Welcome to the tower, I guess; not like it's the best place to be or anything. All the people here are kinda like us!
This place snatches up people like dumplings, keepin'em hostage and makin'em do all sorts of terrible stuff!

As for the food, that's the worst part'a this place! Ya gotta eat this nasty gruel or you'll end up chucking anything else you try to eat like a geyser!
And sometimes, there ain't even any good food to wash it down with; but there's some good eats around nowadays.

[And he's gonna hop back up on Ammy's head! As long as she doesn't stuff him in her mouth again.]

As Issun started to talk about kidnapping people and forcing them to do things under duress, a low growl started in Ammy's throat. She'd figured there was something wrong with this place, all right, but no one seemed overly inclined to tell their problems to a wolf, and without the ability to communicate with them properly, it was hard to get them to answer the right questions.

She tipped her head back a little to allow Issun better access to the top of her head. For better or worse, she'd already wolfed down some of the oatmeal, since she'd been starving when she woke up. Now she was wondering if there wasn't something weird in it. Well... a little too late for that now. It was too late to barf it back up again.

Anyway, what had Issun been up to all this time? Hitting on more ladies, probably.
