Serene through the bubbly blue and green

Characters: Amaterasu, Open
Settings: Floor 10
Format: I'll be prose, you be whichever
Summary: Amaterasu explores her first glassless aquarium
Warnings: N/A

Ammy padded through the giant room, peering quizzically at the fish inside the tanks of water. Well, 'tanks', anyway, since they didn't seem to be held in by glass of any kind. What was making the water keep its shape, anyway? She approached a large enclosure, one filled with brightly-colored angelfish, corals, and anemones, then stuck her snout up against the wall of water -- only to end up shoving her head into the water, with no resistance at all.

She snapped at a passing fish; it reacted as any other would, swimming frantically away from her jaws in a panic and burrowing itself in between the corals to hide. Puzzled, she drew her head back out out and shook the water vigorously from her fur, sending droplets flying in a wide arc.

Weeeird.

Well, if nothing else, this wolf had a lot of spunk. Watching her wag her tail, bark, and nose at him strongly reminded him of King Mickey's dog, who'd treated him with the same kind of enthusiasm. And, hey, while Riku wasn't the biggest animal lover, he couldn't resist the urge to give Ammy a nice pat on the head.

"You sure are friendly for a wolf." He laughed. Really, Ammy's behavior sure beat those vicious, wolf Heartless from Merlin's world.

Wow, she even bowed? Talk about one smart... and interesting wolf. And, given that he had nothing better to do, Riku didn't hesitate to follow her around the corner. Whatever this wolf was up to, he'd find out in due time.

Well, well. That was a pretty neat trick. And, given Riku's competitive nature, he wasn't about to let her have all the fun. Grinning, he crouched down, leaped into the air, and dashed through the air, sliding through the water block swiftly and efficiently.

Of course, when he emerged, he looked like a wet mop, but as an islander, that was hardly a concern. He'd just keep following that wolf for the time being. After all, it sure beat dealing with monsters.

As Riku slipped into the next block, he ducked and swerved, dodging the jaws of a great white shark. Then, in the next tank, a wall of clown fish zipped in his path, forcing him to take a nosedive.

The whole time, he kept his eyes on Ammy-- or tried to, anyway. Her agile movements were as impressive as her attitude. Even without words, Riku could tell she had spunk.

...Darn it.

As Ammy dropped downn, Riku came to a screeching halt. Taking a deep breath, he threw himself into the water, diving down after her. Luckily, after growing up on an island, maneuvers like this were second nature. Even more so after his adventures in Atlantica.

He'd certainly try his best to get her out of there.

So, what if Riku lit up the end of his Keyblade with some magic? Would that shed some light on the situation?

... Bad pun aside, it didn't take long for him to turn his weapon into a torch. Though, typically, fire shouldn't even exist in water, somehow his magic was always able to bypass physics. And, right now, he definitely couldn't complain.

Riku's eyes widened, and he slashed his Keyblade through the air-- or rather, water-- in a last ditch attempt to cast Stopga on the clam. Regardless of whether it'd succeed or fail, he threw himself in Ammy's direction; there was no way he'd ditch her inside of a giant shellfish.
