[Aleph woke up not knowing where he was. Very bad sign.

The first thing he noticed was a letter. He opted to ignore that in favor of finding his gear, which he soon found in a trunk. That was more like it. If he could have a fight at any minute, a letter would help him less than his demons. That done, he got to reading.

...Destroyed? He wasn't sure he believed that. YHVH might have mentioned 'by the way, the world's about to be destroyed/will be destroyed if you kill Me'. It seemed like something He ought to know as God.

He looked around the room for any sign of his roommates. There were other beds, after all.]

[Aleph had elected to take the long walk through the stairs rather than use the elevator, so that he had a better idea of the layout of the place. Besides, he was used to walking through difficult mazes anyway. Sometimes with pits.

(Kether Castle being one of the most annoying instances. Lucifer could have at least made his home a little more friendly to visitors.)

He stopped at the art gallery, though he intended it not to be more than a quick stop. Beautiful still lifes and portraits mixed with the most ghastly demons and unnatural things that the tower could drag up to be painted. They almost looked real.

[Aleph duly ate the oatmeal: it looked like they were very insistent about it being his first meal, and anyway, he'd had worse. It was just tasteless.

That done, he poked around the cafeteria for anything more to fill his stomach. A lot of the food didn't look very appetizing... He was hoping to have at least the best of a bad lot, even if finding the best took him a while.]

Oooh, I see! [Nod, nod.] Were you a gladiator for long?

[alephbet]

Not too long. Just enough to become the champion.

Well, it does certainly sound like you're good at fighting. Though what happened after you became the champion?

[alephbet]

Well, that was when I was allowed to leave the arena life and go to Valhalla, where they promptly told me that I was the Messiah.

I guess you could say I've lived an eventful life.

[technologic]

[All the staring now. She knows the word 'Messiah', so yeah, she's a bit surprised about all this.]

A... very eventful life. But lemme get this right... You're the Messiah, as in the Messiah who is meant to save the world and stuff?

That's right.

...I don't think I've talked this much about myself for a while, actually. Most people have just already heard of me.

But... wouldn't people make assumptions or something if they only just heard of you? I mean, I'm guessing you're known as the Messiah, but that's not all you are.

That's true. But I'm usually so busy that I don't have time to have a long conversation.

I'm guessing that as the Messiah, people ask for your help a lot?

[alephbet]

All the time.

[technologic]

And you get no breaks or days off?

[alephbet]

It's a 24/7 job.

[technologic]

I see... But, people at least thank you for helping them, right?

Most of the time. It's fulfilling.

[technologic]

That's good! [She gives a small smile.] What sorts of things do people ask you to help with?

[alephbet]

Defeating monsters, saving people, that sort of thing.

Even after taking down God?

[alephbet]

It was actually only a few weeks ago.

Really? So not that long ago... What happened after you defeated him?

[alephbet]

Lucifer mainly took over. Mutants were allowed to leave the underground and see the sunlight again, people survived, it was good.

[technologic]

[Wait... What. It looks like something he said bothered her, since now she's frowning.]

Why were the mutants made to stay underground?

[alephbet]

The Millenium Center - that would be the people in charge, and God's main supporters - cast them out out of prejudice.
