Summary: After repeated delays, Zelda and Gandalf have finally called the populace of the Tower to discuss productive means of dealing with their situation.

It's taken far too long to get to this point.

Come Sunday, the various couches and armchairs of the uppermost lounge have been arranged in vaguely semi-circle-like patterns, with chairs from other floors scattered amongst them to increase seating even more. The semi-circles face inwards towards a central point to facilitate discussion among a large group of people. Though this is by no means a party, small slices of Lembas bread are available on tables around the perimeter - though there is no shortage of food, the hungry tend to be less cooperative, all the same.

Outside, the sun shines brightly without a cloud to obstruct it, but the atmosphere inside is much less carefree. Considering the purpose of gathering here this day, it's to be expected. Should this council succeed, it may very well change life in the Tower as everyone knows it. If not, well... one should certainly hope individual efforts begin to bear more fruit than they have in the past.

[Once the meeting is over, Xion remains seated in her chair, hood still up and head ducked a little. She's... settling her nerves really. So much that there's a part of her that's startled that the meeting is over already.

All in all... that... she isn't sure how to call how that'd gone. She supposed it could have gone worse, but wasn't too awful. All the same though... she could only hope they listened to what she said. She didn't want to watch her friends die over and over again trying to fight something head-on when fighting them head-on just got them killed or hurt. Or worse.

She'll probably still be sitting here for a while.]

[...Oh, hey, there's the girl that Momotaros... kinda yelled at, so... um.

He's going to approach her sort of awkwardly.]

U-um, er... Sorry about earlier.

[Xion jumps slightly at being addressed. She... hadn't expected anybody to come talk to her, except maybe one or two of her friends.

She looks up, surprised. She doesn't recognize the person standing in front of her.]

H-huh? What do you mean?

Th-that wild guy earlier...

[Yes, that was his body spouting all of Momotaros' line.]

Well, that was me, kind of.

[Feferi wanted to be sure and find Xion afterwards. She felt like she needed to least speak to her, because speaking up like that took a lot of courage, and it was a really brave thing to do. So when she sees her, she takes a spot a couple of feet away, waving once.]

Hey...I thought what you said was really, really great. And I think it was very brave of you to say it. Are you okay?

[Another person Xion is slightly startled that they would approach her. She stares for a moment, wide-eyed, then nods.]

Thanks... [She looks down at her hands, folded in her lap. She... still isn't sure if what she did was really brave, given how things turned out. I... I think I'll be fine.

You don't need to thank me.

[Feferi smiles.]

It sounds like you've got some really good friends here. It's important to protect the people we care about.

Don't worry about the guy who yelled at you first, okay? He's just hot-headed. I was in his group in the last experiment, and he's not a bad guy deep down. He just doesn't think before he says stuff. I think yelling at people is his way of saying hello, to be honest.

I'm Feferi. Your friend said your name was Xion, right?

[Xion will find that she isn't sitting there alone for long. It.. definitely was not ideal, but he'd heard what Xion said. Not to mention the responses her words had earned.

How hurt was she when the few who had said something shot her down?]

... ... ... [A lot can be said in silence.]

[Yu won't be sitting there for long till he'll find she might... be leaning on him slightly.

For a while, it looks like she's content to sit in silence. But finally, a tiny voice issues from underneath her hood.]

They told me to stay behind both times.

[And thus she was only able to wait and hear what happened to both groups. Is there some survivor's guilt involved? Maybe.]

[He doesn't mind it. Maybe he blinked once, but he doesn't move away. If this was what she needed right now, for a friend to lean on, then he'll be there.

But when she finally speaks up, there's a little pained frown. ...Both times they'd been gone, she wanted to help break them out or seize control of this place? What really is there to say to that?

... There isn't anything to say.

Yu wraps an arm around her shoulders, hand resting on her other shoulder. He knows that pain, but there is little else he can say on it. Especially since they are both hurting in their own ways. He because he survived Jason's pod, and Xion because she had to wait to hear how they all died in their attempts. None of it was fair, even though he can guess that they just didn't want to see her get hurt.]

... They told me to stop caring about so many people.

[But he couldn't, much like he can't turn that off now. The guilt is there, yes, but there is a strength he wishes to share with her.]

[Xion makes a quiet, choked half-noise. There were times where a tiny, selfish part of her just... wishes she didn't care. Maybe if she didn't care, maybe it wouldn't hurt as much. And at the same time... the idea of not caring, about Roxas or Axel, or Reno or Shion or Sora or Fey or even the person sitting next to her...

It was scary.

It was funny, for the longest time, she'd thought she was a Nobody, the same as Roxas and Axel. No heart, no feelings. And for her (and Roxas), no memories. Only that wasn't true, her being a Nobody. And she could feel things, she knew that. Who knew what the status of her heart was.

She closes her eyes shoulders slumping a little, and shakes her head.]

I don't think I could ever do that.

[Either, she thought, realizing belatedly what he was trying to say. She sits up straight, suddenly awkward.]

S-sorry. I didn't mean to say- ... sorry...

[The apology catches him slightly by surprise. What is she apologizing for, since she too has such a kind and caring heart?

It doesn't make sense.]

You don't have to apologize. [He shakes his head, frowning slightly.] Besides, isn't it a testament to how important we hold our friendships if we are unable to not care?
