Fellowship of Animus | First Council of Sages
Characters: THE FELLOWSHIP OF ANIMUS aka pretty much everyone
Setting: Floor 38, early afternoon - forward-dated to July 29
Format: Party style - pick your poison
Summary: After repeated delays, Zelda and Gandalf have finally called the populace of the Tower to discuss productive means of dealing with their situation.
Warnings: None yet, will edit should something come up
It's taken far too long to get to this point.
Come Sunday, the various couches and armchairs of the uppermost lounge have been arranged in vaguely semi-circle-like patterns, with chairs from other floors scattered amongst them to increase seating even more. The semi-circles face inwards towards a central point to facilitate discussion among a large group of people. Though this is by no means a party, small slices of Lembas bread are available on tables around the perimeter - though there is no shortage of food, the hungry tend to be less cooperative, all the same.
Outside, the sun shines brightly without a cloud to obstruct it, but the atmosphere inside is much less carefree. Considering the purpose of gathering here this day, it's to be expected. Should this council succeed, it may very well change life in the Tower as everyone knows it. If not, well... one should certainly hope individual efforts begin to bear more fruit than they have in the past.

Personal experience. You learn a few tricks when ya've been here for a while.

Since so much can be controlled here how do you know your own senses may be trusted?
[Lucifer herself would like to think its a stretch. The idea that her own senses may not be trustworthy, that something so fundamentally her that's supposed to be objective could be tricked is terrifying.
But after the experience of the first "experiment" she was subjected to, the idea isn't out of the realm of possibility.]

Then has it ever occurred to you that the reason the monsters don't have collars is because they simply aren't people any longer and thus are considered lost causes?
no subject
[Aaaand after that insight to Reno's almost subconscious view on what the collars do, he's walking away, back to his guard post. Sorry Lucifer.]

Oh Reno. She would disagree. She's seen such happen again and again. Some to minor degrees, some to heavy ones. But soul and physical form can be changed such, and sometimes it isn't even particularly difficult to do.
There is the temptation to hound after him, but she will grant Reno his space and simply watches as he returns to his post.]

Unfortunately it was not easy to speak about what he was thinking but he tried anyways, in a very quiet voice. "But... after the labyrinth... I was punished with a copy... or version of my friend. He acted just like he does in real life... but he could be killed over and over instantly reviving...
He wore no collar..."
no subject
She flexes the fingers on her right hand a bit, aimlessly. Thinking. Before asking in a quiet, gentle voice, "Could you tell me more about the situation? Would you be able or comfortable enough to do that?"
no subject
He stopped for a moment images flashing in his mind and hugged his knees to his chest, "They kept killing him, but unlike us when we wake up the next day with paralysis he just revived instantly... It... it was two of the red collared workers who did it..." He was trembling a lot and edged closer towards Reno.

Lucifer does take note that Shion continues to edge towards Reno. She doesn't know if it's just because the red-haired man is the closest other person or if he's a friend of yours. Either way it's something she'll note.
Lucifer smiles, a warm smile, as she speaks again.
"I see. The information you have is appreciated.
I am Louisa Ferra. May I ask your name?"
no subject
He gave her a warm smile, glad to meet her even if the topic of conversation was making him uncomfortable.
no subject
Her smile melts a little into embarrassment.
"I apologize. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable. He is right; I'm quite new here; I arrived last week.
Might I ask how long you've been here?"

Not a long time in the long run of things, especially for Lucifer. But enough to annoy her with the prospect she could be stuck here as long. Or longer.
"Let us hope it will not be seven more then."
