Fellowship of Animus | First Council of Sages
Characters: THE FELLOWSHIP OF ANIMUS aka pretty much everyone
Setting: Floor 38, early afternoon - forward-dated to July 29
Format: Party style - pick your poison
Summary: After repeated delays, Zelda and Gandalf have finally called the populace of the Tower to discuss productive means of dealing with their situation.
Warnings: None yet, will edit should something come up
It's taken far too long to get to this point.
Come Sunday, the various couches and armchairs of the uppermost lounge have been arranged in vaguely semi-circle-like patterns, with chairs from other floors scattered amongst them to increase seating even more. The semi-circles face inwards towards a central point to facilitate discussion among a large group of people. Though this is by no means a party, small slices of Lembas bread are available on tables around the perimeter - though there is no shortage of food, the hungry tend to be less cooperative, all the same.
Outside, the sun shines brightly without a cloud to obstruct it, but the atmosphere inside is much less carefree. Considering the purpose of gathering here this day, it's to be expected. Should this council succeed, it may very well change life in the Tower as everyone knows it. If not, well... one should certainly hope individual efforts begin to bear more fruit than they have in the past.

[It's a small admittance as he quietly makes his way closer, taking a seat nearby.]
Sometimes differences in opinion can drive a knife through any meeting--especially one of this size--regardless of initial enthusiasm. ...I know I've seen it happen before.
[He sighs.] ...I think the biggest problem is that some refuse to listen. Can't say I see eye to eye with Xehanort, but he raised a good point that everyone was blinding themselves.

[She trails off then, realizing the futility of such words at this point. Everyone wished to help and protect everyone else, that's all she can take away without being hypocritical herself.]
Many of us are stubborn and embittered to those others wish to make peace with, myself among them, I must admit. Finding a way to work past that... would be difficult at best.
[Shaking her head as if to clear it of those thoughts, she sighs.]
... Is it foolish of me to still want this to somehow work in the end?

So am I. Even with good intentions, there are those who would take advantage of their naivety.
[Despite that grim truth, he can't help but smile a little fondly at that one word. It strikes a powerful cord within him, to recall.]
Sometimes it takes a fool to change the world. [A pause, then he shakes his head, as if to brush aside his uncertainty.] As long as they don't give up when the path becomes hard to travel.
[There's a brief moment of silence, and then-]
...Maybe we should take those opinions into account, and to divide into smaller groups for discussions before speaking together as a whole or picking someone to represent the group's stances.
[It's a small idea, but it's better than nothing... right?]
It's what the group of individuals I belong to have been doing so far, and it also acts as a small network for information gathering. Perhaps if we tried this on a larger scale, it could help bridge the gaps between us as a whole.

There's another moment of contemplative silence as she thinks over his suggestion, imagining the scenario in her head. How the groups might be divided, what purpose each might have, based on what she just saw.
When she speaks up again, it's with a nod.]
At the very least, it would help in avoiding fruitless bickering. And perhaps some delegation would give people more purpose and focus towards our ultimate goal.
It is certainly worth taking a chance on, especially if it has already succeeded in a smaller group. [And resolution finally enters her voice again, like it had when she called the meeting.] I shall have to speak with Gandalf about how we should go about organizing this. Unless... you have any suggestions?

One can hope. [And he isn't going to be giving up on that four-letter word that meant so much any time soon.] Only common sense approach. Some seemed more keen on information gathering than overthrowing or finding a way to either return or restore our worlds. Maybe use that in consideration?
[It's only an idea, because while he has led before it has never been on this scale (nor is he used to speaking so much).]
In the end, it is yours and Gandalf-san's decision... [Wait, was he avoiding using names?]
