Fellowship of Animus | First Council of Sages
Characters: THE FELLOWSHIP OF ANIMUS aka pretty much everyone
Setting: Floor 38, early afternoon - forward-dated to July 29
Format: Party style - pick your poison
Summary: After repeated delays, Zelda and Gandalf have finally called the populace of the Tower to discuss productive means of dealing with their situation.
Warnings: None yet, will edit should something come up
It's taken far too long to get to this point.
Come Sunday, the various couches and armchairs of the uppermost lounge have been arranged in vaguely semi-circle-like patterns, with chairs from other floors scattered amongst them to increase seating even more. The semi-circles face inwards towards a central point to facilitate discussion among a large group of people. Though this is by no means a party, small slices of Lembas bread are available on tables around the perimeter - though there is no shortage of food, the hungry tend to be less cooperative, all the same.
Outside, the sun shines brightly without a cloud to obstruct it, but the atmosphere inside is much less carefree. Considering the purpose of gathering here this day, it's to be expected. Should this council succeed, it may very well change life in the Tower as everyone knows it. If not, well... one should certainly hope individual efforts begin to bear more fruit than they have in the past.

To form an alliance between the people here would be a large ordeal and one that would far outweigh the abilities of those who had proposed it. Would outweigh their ability to do so especially if they were not willing to compromise and deal with those they called "villains". The idea of creating such a structured idea of what was acceptable and wasn't was to set oneself for failure. There were actions that were permissible and those that were not, that was certain. But then again Lucifer would argue she had seen that which wasn't permissible turned on its head and made permissible again.
Lucifer couldn't blame them for being cautious of working with those they deemed evil. That was simple wisdom: of course those who had been a problem, those whose selfishness was too self-centered (and Lucifer had to smirk at the impracticality of that thought) couldn't be trusted. The moment any mutual goal had been met they would stab their allies in the back to pursue their personal goals.
Lucifer couldn't fault them. There were things even Lucifer would not compromise to, or if she did she would do so only for a short period of time. And yet because they would not compromise the outcome of the meeting was inevitable.
It was not a waste of time, perhaps. More like time that had only been half-spent.
Lucifer sits in one of the corners of the room and as others begin to filter out. She has her palm open in front of her, and on it sits a small, red haired creature with wings dressed in blue. The creatures wings flitter once in awhile but otherwise remain still as the Pixie sits on her master's hand.
Softly, the two sing. Sometimes in words, sometimes in incomprehensible fragments of words. Sometimes in musical chords themselves. But for the moment they seem caught up in whatever song they're weaving.]

You're an excellent singer. Both of you are.
no subject
Is it that great a surprise to you?
no subject
[He's being nice, Lucifer, gosh.]
no subject
[It's not pouting necessarily. Lucifer loves praise, but undue praise did annoy her a little bit. Of course she could sing well. When she was Helel she led the Heavenly Choir.
It worries her sometimes that her ties to Helel can still be so strong.]
What did you think of it?
The meeting, I mean.

As long as some people place keeping their moral integrity as their goal over being able to work together, we won't have full cooperation. I'm not saying they're wrong for doing so, but it will hurt us.
The idea that the monsters could be people from our worlds... I don't like to think about it, but I can't rule it out, either. It doesn't change anything even if it's true: we still have to survive, and there's no evidence that they can be changed back.
What are your thoughts?
no subject
[As for the monsters? Lucifer doesn't know or care on an emotional level, but he is curious in discovering if it could be true for other reasons.]

But just because we may want the same thing does not mean we truly want the same thing.

The people who can consider each other trustworthy would work more closely together, while trying not to waste energy on stopping the others' efforts. If the 'villains' can focus on the main goal of escape instead of petty power grabs, there won't be much to stop in the first place.
Maybe they need to have a group meeting and not invite the rest of the tower.

And then she just laughs. Not low laughter either, but a loud, ear-splitting laughter that echoes through the room and makes the Pixie in her hand jump for a moment and then look around nervously. The pixie isn't used to seeing her master so mirthful.
After a moment Lucifer calms down and shakes her head.]
No. You know from experience this could never happen Aleph.
no subject
Honestly, I thought that would be it. But I didn't think you'd find it that funny.
no subject
Would you have made that suggestion to us and have expected it to work?
no subject
...No. God's too stubborn and you're just as bad sometimes. No offense.
no subject
[As for the no offense, eh. She doesn't particularly care. She might lie but she would be unable to lie on the fact that stubbornness is a very large part of herself. It was due to pride that she fell, after all.]
I suspect it might be seen the same by some of those here. You're asking two forces that might by nature be opposed to each other to work together.
no subject
-alright, I know this meeting was important and we should discuss it more, but I have to ask why you showed up as a woman.
no subject
Why not a woman?
[She did it to keep people from immediately knowing who she is. To interact with some people in one form and with others in another. And if need be Lucifer will play form off of form with some people.
But hey. The answer she said was good too, right?]

I cannot be contained to one form. You may know me as one person, and another might know me as someone else.
That is freedom. That is Chaos.

He bends down a bit so he can get a better look at the Pixie.] Hi. I'll try not to make her laugh again, it scared me a little too.
