[Tendrils of magic wound their way around, lines of energy flickered into existence, forming a large shape on the ground around where Xehanort sat with his back straight and legs tucked neatly beneath him. Perfect. It was a bigger scale than the one he'd done but a month before, already he could feel the flickers of connection, the shape getting brighter and more defined.

More participants. More mental drag. There was little to worry about. With Xigbar on guard duty, his sleeping body would be quite safe. No, it was time to dream... and see just who would follow.

Darkness shrouded his hand, keyblade flaring into life, and he gripped the handle in both hands, aiming it at the ground, at the keyhole defined by criss-crossing darkness responding, resonating...

drowsiness laced through him, the blade in his hands sagging downward until the tip touched the ground, his posture slacking, head and shoulders slumping slightly

in slumber, the dreams of others awaited

[As the voices of Yu's social links fade, a boy walks out from the fog, standing in front of him. At the edge of nothing, with no hope but to sacrifice everything you have in one last-ditch effort to show the goddess the truth...]

[He recognizes the feeling. And so there's a warm glow from Ryoji as he kneels down and takes Yu's hand, pulling him up.]

Come on. You've got a job to do still. You can't fall here.

[pitiedthefool]

[He lay there at first, listening to every single voice as they spoke. Paused, reflected like he always did, and then, with that hand, with Ryoji's voice, another seconded it. Like his voice reminded him of the job he'd done as well, and why he had to keep moving forward…

Hey… Big bro… Are you going to leave me behind…? I'll be a good girl… So don't go… I don't want you to go… Big bro…

It was time to make a decision and make it known. Yu nods in agreement.] Right.

[…?!]
[Why is he suddenly glowing…]
[Either he doesn't notice it at all, or there is something else happening because in that instant a fire that hasn't been in his eyes for a while now suddenly reignites. In this instant, there isn't any room for doubt…]

Let's go.

[The fog begins to clear around them, as though it were being stirred into something more…]

[Ryoji grins as Yu comes to a resolution, and steps back to allow him to glow. As the battle resumes, he stands by his friend's side, Thanatos taking a defensive position. And as Yu is injured, Ryoji is there to heal him.]

[He knows that the attacking has to be done by Yu. This isn't his fight. But he will be here, standing by the other's side, giving him his support and help for as long as he can.]

'How can the will of so few... surpass the will of all mankind?'

....Alice.

[The first one he calls forth is Death, realizing the change he has to face and claim as his own... even though he fears it. A part of him wants to break as he sees all of his friends lying there on the red floor of the battleground, but he stands strong as Alice dances before him, pointing her finger to him once as he feels her power and those connected to him through her strengthen him. But it's only temporary, and he knows it. The electricity and darkness strike at him,leaving tears on his skin and causing him to grimace.

But that's okay. He'll keep moving. Keep standing... keep fighting. Because he wants to-no, he has to... for their sakes.

'We don't need reality... so long as everyone is-'

His sadness and grief give way to fury as he stands there in eerie silence. The electricity, for the first time in his life... it hurts him... but he keeps moving. Keeps taking steps forward to the goddess of death.

Something clicks.

Something shatters in the electricity as Yu glares daggers and stands his grounds, fists clenched tight as the black hands - death - that claimed his friends try to grasp his ankles to no avail. He will not stop. He cannot. stop. Those same hands try to grasp for Ryoji while Yu's back is turned, but-]

'It is impossible to grasp the truth... with your own hands.'

[Yu stops moving, seemingly fixing his glasses...]

We may only know a finite number in our lifetimes... but that's what makes them all so precious to us in the first place.

[I don't need these, anymore. He removes them...]

I will show you... [-and tosses them aside.] ...what humanity's truly capable of!

[He doesn't even have to raise his hand further. The card of the World falls before him as a sudden powerful aura of white light emanates from him and the twenty-two Arcana he accumulated. He raises his hand to meet the card and crushes it in one swift motion...]

'You're... Izanagi-no-Okami...?!'

[Sure enough, Izanagi-no-Okami appears. So nice to see you this evening. Let's just go ahead and swing your blade twice. Yeah, that's good. Let the light of those slices cut into Izanami's form like butter even though your naginata is nowhere near her. That has to be making her day.

Oh... Oh, ow. That really has to hurt. Not like Yu cares when he holds out his hand, directing the fire of attacks. She killed his friends and he could do nothing... nothing...

There is fire in his once-cold eyes as the torrent of light and electricity strike Izanami-no-Okami to the core. She truly is having the worst day of her afterlife, isn't she?]

[thanabro]

[Ryoji panics a little, struggling against the hands, Thanatos slashing at them. He's sunk partway into the ground, up to his knees, when Izanagi-no-Okami appears, and the sinking stops. He rests against the ground, keeping up the healing, even though his face is pale from fright.]

[He won't let his friend down.]

[pitiedthefool]

[The attacks continue until the light becomes blindingly so. The goddess screams in agony before growing silent. Izanagi-no-Okami vanishes in the light as well, and the others begin to stir-

T-they're okay... All of them are...

... If he wasn't in shock, he would have likely fallen to his knees right there as his friends began yelling at Izanami for him. It's a miracle he could even turn to face Ryoji and give him a knowing glance.

It's over... Are you alright?]

[thanabro]

[He nods, and pulls himself out of the muck, the darkness, whatever it is. It's hard going, but he manages to get one leg out, and then the other. He stands, Thanatos disappearing.]

... Are you okay?

[pitiedthefool]

I should be asking you that.

[He doesn't smile; not quite... it's all a bit of a surprise that this just happened...]

I'll be okay.

[It was cold... but he's more or less used to that.]

[He nods, holding out a hand to him. For some reason, he seems a lot more relaxed now... like his normal self.]

[After a moment of hesitation, he takes Yu's hand.]
