Summary: Xehanort draws a large amount of the tower into worlds constructed from their dreams in an attempt to learn about everyone en masse

[Tendrils of magic wound their way around, lines of energy flickered into existence, forming a large shape on the ground around where Xehanort sat with his back straight and legs tucked neatly beneath him. Perfect. It was a bigger scale than the one he'd done but a month before, already he could feel the flickers of connection, the shape getting brighter and more defined.

More participants. More mental drag. There was little to worry about. With Xigbar on guard duty, his sleeping body would be quite safe. No, it was time to dream... and see just who would follow.

Darkness shrouded his hand, keyblade flaring into life, and he gripped the handle in both hands, aiming it at the ground, at the keyhole defined by criss-crossing darkness responding, resonating...

drowsiness laced through him, the blade in his hands sagging downward until the tip touched the ground, his posture slacking, head and shoulders slumping slightly

in slumber, the dreams of others awaited

the Master was asleep.]

[To a timeless goddess, everyone is a child. Don't take it too personally.]

What? What do you mean you cannot--

[Ven, you are confusing this woman a great deal, but suddenly that has to be put on the back burner as the Darkness does not appreciate being ignored. It beats angrily against the barrier, striking it without pause or mercy, causing the goddess to wince and falter. She clutches at her chest, gritting her teeth and hissing in pain.

Damn it, she doesn't have much of a choice, does she. Catching what breath she can, she looks to Ven, studying his eyes and expression intently before speaking.]

This... will be the greatest battle of your young life. I cannot guarantee I will be able to protect you here. Are you... absolutely certain?

[forceless]

[It's still lame!

He jumped slightly when the Darkness began beating the barrier, instinctively putting a hand out on the woman's shoulder in a gesture of stability. The magic she was using must have been directly from her heart...]

Don't worry. I don't need protection. [Said with an air of confidence as he allowed a grin to come to his face. Indeed, the whole reason he was here was to protect her after all.] I'm ready.

[The goddess is... skeptical, but she has no other options. After taking another moment to regain her breath, she nods.]

Fight well, young hero.

[With that blessing, she straightens, pushing past her pain and summoning a blade made out of the same light magic she has been using thus far. He said he was ready, so that's as much of a warning as he's going to get before she drops the golden barrier, exposing them to the dangers outside.

Without a second thought, she flies right back into the heart of the battle, attacking the Darkness relentlessly.]

Right back at'cha!

[Heh. Hero? That had kind of a nice ring to it.

He didn't need any warning when he was already waiting for it. Once the barrier fell, he jumped forward and into the air again, bringing the polearm to stab through a nearby demon.

Once he was on the ground, he spun the weapon before him, unleashing a Firaga spell off the arm and spreading it through the enemy army.]

[Too bad Phil's the arbiter of heroes in the KH 'verse.

Ven's magic is like nothing the demon army has seen before, and so they are woefully unprepared when confronted with it. Their ranks scatter and panic, which only aids with the fire's spread.

Meanwhile, the woman with Zelda's Heart does battle with the behemoth-like cloud of Darkness in the center of the demon army, the strikes of her sword ringing out like thunder over the battlefield and the bursts of her magic flashing like lightning across the sky.]

[One day he will get past the goat man. One day.

Ven spared only a glance while he was spinning the polearm to glance at the lightning. Surely Zelda(?) had to deal with the Darkness herself, but if the technique or the result was some kind of sensitive information...

Not that he wasn't serious, but it was time to get even more. He stopped spinning the polearm as the fire ceased, and he stuck the weapon straight up and down, the point directed at the sky. A number of pillars of light came down from the sky. They didn't quite hit the behemoth, but at least he could thin out the ranks so he could help defeat it....]

[And again, what demons don't get struck with the pillars scatter in all directions, fleeing the battlefield. The goddess has always busied herself with their leader, and a mere human doing so much damage is unprecedented.

... So unprecedented, in fact, that said "leader" seems to take interest in the boy that is turning the tides of his war. The Darkness seems to 'turn' towards Ven, two dimly glowing red-orange lights which can only be called eyes appearing within the being's mass to look down at the boy. There's a low rumble, and a giant arm-like tendril draws out of the cloud to lash out at him.

But of course, as the Darkness did before, the goddess takes issue with this and flies down to deflect the blow with a blast of magic, screaming at the demon leader all the while.]

Demise! Do not forget who your battle is with!

[Ven turned his attention to the tendrils a second or so before the woman intercepted them, sticking the polearm into another demon to stay its advance.]

Demise...?

[Said idly to himself under his breath. Was that what they called the Darkness?

Whatever this Demise business was, he decided this was it; what he wanted to cover up, something he was sure Xehanort would love to see in particular.]

I got ya! [So, shifting himself behind Zelda, he hefted the polarm and slice through the air in front of him, sending a gust of sharp wind after the leader.]

[Unlike the lesser demons before him, the leader hardly seems phased by the magical attack. The gust hits it, yes, and swirling clouds of darkness dissipate into the air where the attack hits, but it merely looms over Ven, almost as if it is judging whether or not he is worth its time.

In fact, the goddess is doing something similar, glancing back at the boy as he makes his attack in faint surprise. Could... this child truly be the key to ending this war?

... She's willing to put a little faith in him, at least.]

Keep it up! Do not back down!

[She shouts back to him, encouraging, before leaping back into action herself. If they can just weaken Demise enough...]

[OK, so the standard Aero spell didn't so much. He doesn't risk taking his attention away from Demise to look at Zelda, so instead he just nods firmly.

He jumps back a few feet or so, but it was by no means a retreat; keeping his eyes on the monstrous leader, he jabbed the polearm forward in the air, unleashing another gust of wind. This one however, kicked up some dirt, and swirled around until it had formed into a miniature tornado.

Ven directed the Tornado's course with his polearm, sweeping through some more mook stragglers before sending the vortex straight at Demise.]
