DREAM A LITTLE DREAM WITH ME
Characters: all the characters involved in the Dream Event
Setting: various dreams, various locations
Format: any
Summary: Xehanort draws a large amount of the tower into worlds constructed from their dreams in an attempt to learn about everyone en masse
Warnings: ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING
[Tendrils of magic wound their way around, lines of energy flickered into existence, forming a large shape on the ground around where Xehanort sat with his back straight and legs tucked neatly beneath him. Perfect. It was a bigger scale than the one he'd done but a month before, already he could feel the flickers of connection, the shape getting brighter and more defined.
More participants. More mental drag. There was little to worry about. With Xigbar on guard duty, his sleeping body would be quite safe. No, it was time to dream... and see just who would follow.
Darkness shrouded his hand, keyblade flaring into life, and he gripped the handle in both hands, aiming it at the ground, at the keyhole defined by criss-crossing darkness responding, resonating...
drowsiness laced through him, the blade in his hands sagging downward until the tip touched the ground, his posture slacking, head and shoulders slumping slightly
in slumber, the dreams of others awaited
the Master was asleep.]
OOC NOTE BECAUSE I CAN'T EDIT THE POST IT'S ON ANYMORE AND NOT REDOING ALL OF THAT: Dreamers should post to their REAL WORLD thread explaining where their character is, if they made it to a bed or if they're on the floor somewhere or wherever.
If you have questions for me, put them in your base character thread!
If I missed you somehow, let me know and I'll add you to the appropriate section!

Dream #3: Locked to Naminé
He's spent many days here, hidden away in the (supposedly) abandoned mansion with DiZ or Naminé or Sora's sleeping form, and while things had always been a little tense with former (just because he has no choice but to trust into that man, doesn't mean he has to like it), the latter two's presence had always more than made up for that.
It's rare that he had felt safe enough to just wander the streets like he is now - the Organization comes quite often to this place (or well, at least Xion, Roxas and Axel do) and they can't risk to be discovered early, because the closeness of this world to The World That Never Was makes it so perfect as hide out. After all... who would ever expect Sora to be hidden right at their enemies' doorstep?
Given that this is likely a memory, just like the times before... Riku isn't all too worried. And maybe just a little less alert and tense than he would usually be as he makes his way towards the Sunset Hill.]
no subject
[It's him she visits first, so the experience is still quite a new one. Suddenly she finds herself in Twilight Town - or, rather, a shade of it. It's still quite disorienting, both comforting and distressing to be here again, and even if she knows it's not real, something in her chest clenches. Funny, that this place was both almost 'home' once and a prison, too, though of course this part of town was not one she was allowed much time in. But there's no time for reminiscing of either the positive or negative kind; she's got a duty to perform and an uncertain amount of time in which to do it, and who knows what Riku could be going through while she dawdles? The tone of the dream may not yet have proven dangerous, but-- truthfully, she knows she's not familiar enough with this situation to say definitively that everything is well.]
[She finds that she's wound up at the top of Sunset Hill, facing the sunset for which it's named. Looking around, she does her best to ascertain whether anything's different, and, more importantly, where Riku might be.]
no subject
A break to what he has been confronted with so far, one that Riku welcomes... it gives him time to think. To consider. To try and figure out just what was going on, just why he was tumbling from one bad spot in his past to the next without so much as some kind of warning... and why both memory and perception of it all just were all so jumbled in his mind...
He sighs as he climbs his way further up the Sunset Hill, his frown deepening... until he catches sight of someone he wouldn't have quite expected to meet (even though... given the setting, maybe he should have).]
...Naminé!
[There is really no telling just how glad he is to see her right now.
Not that he isn't always glad to see her, but in this situation.. given that it seems to fall somehow maybe right into her area of expertise...]no subject
[She's still got her back to him as he approaches, though when the sound of his footsteps reaches her, she stills, and her name makes her turn, lips parted in surprise. It's a good surprise, though, and she smiles as she returns a,]
Riku...!
[The blonde is very, very glad to see him, herself, and for a moment it looks as though she might run to him, but she's never been much of a runner and she finds it prudent to restrain herself, so instead she strides his way to come to a stop before him, eyes searching his face with significant focus. This could be a trap, after all, even though she senses nothing amiss in at least his identity, yet she hesitates to check properly, and it's not just that; she DID come here to see if he was okay, after all. It's true, she's probably got a better idea of this sort of thing than he would, but it's still a new experience. (Except dreams have their foundations in memories, don't they?)]
Are you alright?
no subject
The lack of blindfold might play into that as well, but if it does, Riku definitely won't be able to tell.He looks just a little torn at her question, because while he is alright physically... or at least he'd like to think that... but he definitely confused... because he shouldn't be here, in Twilight Town, (but he shouldn't have been in Neverland or Hollow Bastion either...)
...
He reaches up to touch his forehead, frowning to himself.]
I- Yes, I think so...
[He lets his hand drop again, shaking his head.]
I think I've been dropping from one memory to the next... What's going on here?
no subject
You mean, you don't know?
[She doesn't say it like he already SHOULD know or that it's anything to be ashamed of; it's more of a musing. Hm. One more bit of valuable information.]
You're dreaming, Riku. You've fallen asleep like Sora did. [-- Wait, that might be a bit unclear.] Like he did in the Tower, I mean. [Not the sleeping-for-a-year thing. No need to give the poor boy a heart attack.] As far as I can tell, it seems someone's cast a spell on you to keep you asleep.
no subject
...He is very, very glad to know that it isn't the first kind of sleep though. That. would definitely suck.
Not to mention, how is he supposed to ever tell Sora off about that, if he goes and does the same thing? Finally he shakes his head, trying to snap himself out of it, frowning thoughtfully again.]
A spell...? Then... this is not the tower's doing, is it?
[After all, the tower's administrator weren't big on magic... at least from what that one questionnaire had revealed.]
no subject
He can't, which is just one more reason to be glad this nap probably won't be lasting as long as Sora's.][Even she can't manage to smile as she watches him frown, contemplative herself, and the curve to her lips slowly flattens out.]
... No. At least, it doesn't seem that way.
[She shakes her head, too, considering the situation.]
I suppose it's possible, but this... isn't how they usually do things. [She pauses, glancing around almost surreptitiously.] But you know... I'm sure there are other people in the tower who might be motivated to do something like this. [Perhaps her expression says it all, even if she doesn't; she can think of a couple of people who are bad news, people they've discussed before.]
no subject
Exactly. Not to mention that the dormitory is a really boring place to take a nap.He pales, his expression freezing in stunned shock - up until now he had though (hoped) that this was some kind of experiment... but... if this was somebody else's doing... certain people's doing...]
You think it's...?
no subject
Most definitely. Not quite as bad as a void, but still.][She frowns more noticably, sober eyes lowering.]
... I can't say for certain. But this... does seem more-- [Again she dodges around using the name, but the look on her face tells it all as her eyes flicker toward him and then away again, scanning not-quite-nonchalantly across the view. The pause extends a tiny bit only because she's seeking the right expression.] ... 'up certain people's alleys'. I'm sure there are those well-versed in magic, including... unusual kinds. [Like the kinds related to Keyblades--]
no subject
Well, at least in the void he wouldn't have to fear getting drawn on by room mates. Or other certain people.Even if she's not using the name, it's more than obvious who she is talking about... and he has to agree; this certainly would be right up Xehanort's alley.
He frowns, his gaze drifting off, eyes scanning their surroundings.]
If that's right then... they are watching this, aren't they?
[Now, that's an unnerving thought. Especially given the last memory he had been dropped into before this one.
The secret he has done his best to keep from that man. Though... of course, with Xigbar about in the tower... it stands to question whether his connection to the Heartless still is a secret at all.
He turns back to Naminé.]
What about you? Are you trapped in a dream too?
no subject
He might have other things to worry about in a void, like the void not being so void-y after all. At least in his room his roommates can look out for him while they draw on his face.][Careful to keep her expression neutral, she nods, eyes lowering toward the ground.]
It's possible, yes.
[Likely, even, if the way she's trying to play things as close to the vest as possible is any indication. After a moment, she returns her gaze to him. She wants to ask if something's already happened, if something's already gotten out, but there'll be time for that later and he's got a question of his own, so she intends to answer it as quickly and accurately as possible.]
No. I stayed awake. I tried to wake you, but I couldn't, so... I came in to see what I could do here. [She doesn't mention her powers or the method by which she did that; he can assume, surely, and that's another thing she'd rather not have Xehanort knowing about if it can be avoided. The pauses, very briefly, then,] I'm sorry. [Judging by that guilty look, what she's really apologizing for is intruding into his dreams.]
no subject
...Point. Though maybe the lurkers in the void are preferable to room mates. It really depends. ...The room mates are probably the better option, aren't they?He keeps his eyes on her, even as she looks away, frowning thoughtfully. His eyes widen at her confession though, not because he minds her coming into his dreams, but-]
You shouldn't be here. I haven't dreamed about anything- [Involving her. Involving anything beyond what had happened in Hollow Bastion.] -about that. Yet.
[By coming here, knowing what she does, she is putting herself in danger and she shouldn't. Not for him.]
You need to get out of here.
no subject
... Probably, yes. If what's already been found in voids is any indication.][She winces guiltily, hands clasping each other as if for comfort. The look on his face is bad enough, but the scolding and the reason for it are worse. Her own eyes widen a little at the discovery that so far her secret is safe - not quite out of surprise but also relief, though an ashamed sort of relief. She knew the risks when she made her way into his dreams, but... she just hadn't been able to leave him to who-knew-what.]
I-- I'm sorry. But I couldn't--... [She falters, knowing already what his feelings on the matter likely are, but,] I had to make sure you were alright.
[And she knows he's right, that she should probably leave, but she hesitates; will he really be okay all by himself?]
no subject
Well it's not like Riku doesn't already have some experience with drifting in voids. He got out okay the last time.He reaches up to her arm, worry weighting on his face - he gets why she is here, but...
After a moment he sighs and lets his arm drop again.]
I'll be fine. [...Okay that's maybe not that reassuring.] I am fine.
[He has been so far at least. Despite all the bad memories so far.]
no subject
With some help, anyway. But what happens when there isn't any help to be found?][She stays very still, watching him. If it were someone else, her eyes might follow their hand. In this case, she focuses on his face after her initial glance at his hand.]
... Are you sure about that?
[It's not a challenge, just a question. It's also one she expects she knows the answer to already.]
no subject
Then he'll just have to believe in the Darkness to show him the way towards the Light. Won't he?He nods decisively; the answer is very much what she expected probably.]
I am.
[A pause.]
Don't worry.
[He is pretty good at getting himself into tricky situations, true... but so far his track record of getting out of them is not that bad either.]
no subject
If worst comes to worst... it seems so.][Precisely what she expected, yes, and she breathes out an almost sigh, studying him for a few seconds without saying anything.]
... Okay. I'll do my best.
[A moment of silence, then,]
I believe in you.
[So he's not allowed to give up or get hurt.]
no subject
Hopefully it won't come to that though. He lifts his hand once more and this time he doesn't let it sink down again, but lets his fingertips brush along her arm, letting another moment of silence linger before he replies.]
...Thank you.
[For believing in him. For trusting him.
It's part of why he won't ever give up, why he can promise that much. Getting hurt... well, that's another story entirely. He will see about refraining of collecting any permanent injury though?]
no subject
Hopefully. And hopefully that's not a futile hope.][She stands still through it. The gesture is welcome, heartwarming even - or would be if she had a heart to warm, of course. A small smile eases into place, both in appreciation and for his sake. He'll need all the encouragement he can get, after all.]
[A nod.] You're welcome.
[She watches him a few moments longer, studying him - and if she hadn't said she would believe in him, it might seem to be in case she doesn't see him again. Finally,]
I suppose I... should probably get going, then.
no subject
He studies her right back, trusting that she knows how to find her way back. Dreams and memories are rather related after all.]
All right. I'll see you soon.
[And though he doesn't say as much, that's a promise.]
no subject
[Very related. She hasn't seen fit to try to use her powers in dreams, much, but she'd probably dicover that dreams are within her domain.]
See you soon.
[And she doesn't say it, either, but she'll hold him to that.]
no subject
He nods and takes a step back, slightly unsure what will happen once she leaves, but intent on at very least seeing her off properly.]
