towerofanimus | 3rd Goal

Characters: Genda and anyone who stumbles across him!
Setting: Floor 32
Format: Action is preferred
Summary: Genda's pissed off after a past conversation, and decides to blow off steam.
Warnings: None yet, though Genda's v. angry, whoops.

[Genda's set himself up a small training area on the far side of the island, deciding to only use one or two of the trees for training, since the tower provides little else for such things.
One tree's decorated with little, hanging foil shapes to keep birds away from the area - don't want them nesting in trees he may shake up! - and its bark looks fairly worn down.
Right now, that's where Genda can be found - he's been working on his punches, since it's the main force behind his goalkeeping tactics. Every once in a while, a punch may have visible, orange shockwaves - it's something he's working on, and these fists are filled with emotions that need to be released somehow.

If you happen across him at the right time, of course, he does pull back from his relentless attack on the poor tree - only to summon a huge drill above his head and burying it within the wood.
That helped a bit, sure. But now he's short one tree, and he promise himself he wouldn't destroy the forest.]

... Damn it.

I tried to do what you do - what Endou does - but nothing I said helped.
He threatened to hunt me down and kill me.

[He's never going to try and help like this again. Ever.]

I can't believe that happened... [Why would you ever Genda is a precious baby]

You don't think he really will look for you, do you?

I'm not scared of it happening, though.

[He's worried that Gamzee won't heal. That's what's wrong.]

Death threats aren't something to bat an eyelash at, Genda.

[Ah, just what Kidou needed. Something else to worry about.]

I'm not scared that he won't try, Kidou.

The reason I'm not frightened is because I can handle it.
I survived Zeus, and I survived Beast Fang. I'm capable of doing this - [points to the tree] - on my own.

A one on one match with a random person in the tower wouldn't be a challenge.
It's just something I don't want to do.

I know you can handle it. You are far stronger then most of the people I know. [He lets out a sigh]

If I can be completely honest, hearing about how someone in the tower wants you dead kind of...

[He keeps his arms crossed and looks to the ground.]

... It kind of scares me.

... It scares me too.

[He pauses then, before straightening himself a bit.]

But we can't let that color our lives here, Kidou. We really can't.
Besides - I've been afraid of a lot of things that I've had to face.
This won't be anything different.

[He's quiet for a while]

I guess you're right. [It doesn't make him any less worried or anything.]

... We're never going to leave this place if we keep fighting with each other, though.

I know that.

Honestly, it would be best if we all worked together - all of us.
Right now, we're all a team, whether we like it or not.

But some people just like making life hard, I guess.

It seems more like we're split into two teams. A team of the "good guys" and a team of the "bad guys".

[There's a pause]

I'm not sure which team to join.

...

[He goes quiet then, letting out a heavy sigh, and thinking this over for a moment or two - and it's obvious he's thinking this over.]

... Is there anyone you look up to, Kidou?

... of course there is. I look up to a lot of people, in the Tower and from our home.

Ask yourself, then - what team would your hero join?

Whose footsteps should you follow?

Where would they want you to end up?

My... hero? [The only person he'd ever thought of as a hero was Kageyama.... and it was hard to say what Kageyama would want.]

... He would probably tell me to choose whichever path I think is right.

Then you should do that.

[Shrug!]

It's simple when you think of it like that, right?

[He shakes his head]

I don't know which path is the right one to take.

... Hmm.

Is there anyone you can talk to here, Kidou?
Anyone who understands you more than I do, or Sakuma does?

... I don't know. [He doesn't even understand himself, Genda.]

I meant an adult or something, Kidou.
Like I used to have with Coach Hitomiko.

[Sigh.]

..well there's Kageyama-san.

... Kageyama?

[Hesitantly, he nods.]

Yeah. He's here in the tower.

And you trust him?

After what he did to Teikoku, and Mikage Sennou, and Zeus?
After what he did to Sakuma and I?

... I do. [His gaze shifts to the side. He forgot that Genda wasn't aware of what all had happened... explaining this won't be easy.]

He's not as evil as you think he is... and since an incident that happened back at Liocott, he's been trying to shift how he does things. He's trying to be a good person.

I don't forgive him for what he has done, and I never will. But I'm not going to turn my back on him any longer, not when he's trying to put his terrible ways aside.

...

Alright. You do what you want, Kidou - but after the pain he put Sakuma and myself through, I'm never going back to him.

He can renounce his ways all he wants, but we've been hospitalized far too much to accept him now. At least, in my eyes.
