towerofanimus | Hacking #03: Monster Hunting

Characters: April and anyone
Setting: Hallways of the tower.
Format: Brackets to start with, but I can match you!
Summary: Now that things have calmed down a bit in the tower, it's monster hunting time.
Warnings: Some violence, but that's about it.

[The Hallways]

[Now that things had calmed down again, April had turned herself to another one of the projects she had decided to do when she isn't trying to crack the towers system, and that project was trying to make a monster list. Plus, monster hunting was good stress relief and April had been stressed out a bit lately.

So throughout the hallways of the tower tonight, some of the monsters will be electrocuted by one red haired woman with glowing green eyes, and the more stronger ones will be electrocuted with higher voltages before being shot a few times by her rifle. And once they're dead, she will crouch by their corpses and start writing things down in a little notebook she's carrying with her.]

... This would probably be a lot easier if I made a device for something like this... [But despite her grumblings, she still keeps taking notes.]

... Maybe. And my powers would mean I would be able to instantly store data when I see the monsters.

I think there's a way you can ask for things that didn't show up in your trunk. Who knows if you'll actually get it, but it's worth a try.

Hmm... I'm not sure if I want to test my luck with that. I might see if I can build something though.

I still feel bad. I don't want to go into detail, but I can say that I know how insulting it can be to have someone imply that you're not good enough to do something before you've gien it your all.

[That gets a pause and she frowns down at the ground for a few moments, almost unsure of what to say.]

... I-if you want to help, you can...

*He nods, shifting a bit awkwardly before it occurs to him that she doesn't know what to call him.*

Ah, I'm sorry, I should have introduced myself.

Ah, right... Y-you already know my name, don't you? [Since Wilhelm sent him to get her.]

Yeah, Wilhelm told me. I'm...the Brown Testament.

... Brown Testament? Is that really your name?

Not exactly, but I don't really use my name a lot anymore.

Well okay... Though 'the Brown Testament' is kinda long...

... What about 'Brownie'? [Judging by her faint smile, she's more than likely joking around.]

Ah- *It takes him a second to realize she's joking and he just barely fails at not laughing.* I'm pretty sure some of the people I know wouldn't let me live it down if someone called me that.

...Maybe I can go ahead and give you my real name. I mostly just try to keep it secret here in case I want to take a break from everything I'm involved in, but Wilhelm's already used it on the network anyway.

I dunno, I think it's kind of a good nickname. [She grins for a moment, before her expression turns a bit more serious.]

... It's up to you, but I'll make sure to keep it a secret if you do tell me.

I actually hate all this keeping everything hidden from everyone stuff. I can't tell you everything, but you don't seem like someone I'd need to hide from to get a bit of peace and quiet. I'm Allen.

*He holds his hand out toward her, his posture notably less impersonal than before.*

[She hesitates for a moment, before reaching to take his hand.]

Well, it's nice to meet you, Allen.

*His grip is a bit awkward, if not particularly rushed.*

Likewise. And, ah, I'm sorry if Wilhelm confused you too much. Even I don't know what's running through his head half the time.

[Hers is just as awkward, though it's more due to not being used to handshakes then hesitancy, and she pulls her hand back after a few moments.] It's alright... He was more vague than anything, and he wouldn't even tell me why he got you to get me.

Yeah, that sounds like him. He didn't tell me either, just that he wanted me to make sure you stayed alive.

I see... Hopefully I'll be able to get the reason out of him one day, or else it's gonna bug me a bit.

Maybe. He tends to prefer letting people figure things out for themselves, though.

... Great. Though I'll just keep nagging at him until he tells me, then.
