☆ Crumbling Routine
Characters: Alcor, Yamato, and kinda open to anyone who wants to gawk at Dadcor?
Setting: After this network post, Floor 3 Library
Format:capslock The most delicate and hand-picked "I will follow you"
Summary: Alcor is having what is akin to a panic attack at Yamato existing. Overprotectiveness engage!
Warnings: Given how emotional Alcor's been after the bodyswap, if you look at Yamato funny he might get up in your face. |D;
When he said he'd be "right there", he wasn't exaggerating. Alcor had teleported clear down from his room, despite his sulking, and right in to the library. Finding Yamato and Lucifer's chosen hadn't been difficult, but he'd probably have to apologize for being rude later- he didn't even say a word to Aleph before scooping Yamato up. Even if the child was bound to be upset by it (he was a Mature Adult after all), Saiduq couldn't bring himself to fuss and worry about such things. He just wanted to...hold him.
The more philosophical aspect of his mind wanted to debate how his form had taken to physical contact lately, but the thought was shoved clear out. Not the time. Deal with that later. Be a fussy dad-figure now.
"...Yamato Hotsuin."
No, he's not going to think about his death either. In fact, he's not going to think at all. Nothing else is important enough to distract him right now.

No, he's not going to think about his death either. In fact, he's not going to think at all. Nothing else is important enough to distract him right now.

He's still paying a little attention to the conversation, but for now, Yamato can reunite with his guardian in peace.

"A-Alcor! Put me down! I'm happy to see you too but that does not mean we become hysterical!" Yamato harrumphed, his face a bright red as he tried to wriggle free from his caretaker's arms. He failed, miserably, and after realising his flailing was futile, gave up with a pout.
no subject
"I apologize." He remained crouched, even if it hurt, looking at Yamato with a far-too-serious face. "It has...it has been some time since I have seen you. I..." A long pause, with an uncharacteristic shift in him actually looking somewhat guilty. "When was the last time you saw me?"
no subject
"What? I saw you this morning of course," Yamato replied, looking briefly confused. Some time? It had been this morning - or perhaps, yesterday, since he apparently lost consciousness for an indeterminable amount of time - when he saw Alcor. A few hours was not a long time, not enough for his caretaker to act like this, in any case.

Yamato was still young enough; he hadn't saddled him with information about the inner workings of the akashic record, most likely. And even if he did, it wasn't an explanation he wanted to give, due to how suspicious it would seem. So, instead, he decided to do the worst thing he possibly could.
"Yamato, listen to me." Not use Yamato's last name. Probably the most bizarre thing out of his mouth. "The people here- our abductors. They are beyond my power- and have taken some of my strength from me. The things they are capable are beyond what anyone has been prepared for."
no subject
Which meant that this was more serious than Yamato realised.
"How could they have taken your powers?" Yamato asked, mostly out of surprise than anything else. His expression became mildly anxious then, "There isn't anything stronger than you."
Ah, Yamato's naivety. But it was true. Alcor had always seemed...invincible to Yamato. The thought of something being strong enough to take away his caretaker's powers was...terrifying.
no subject
"There are still some things I can do, but they are much, much stronger. There are places here that can dwindle your spiritual energy away completely. If you would like to explore, please allow me to accompany you." It was like setting down ground rules all over again.
no subject
"...I have been warned of some of the dangers within this place," he said after a pause. "Such as the restaurant that steals organs from its clients, and the monsters that roam the tower after dark."
To be honest, Yamato was feeling bit...odd at this point. It was an emotion he had never encountered before, and he wasn't entirely sure what it was. He didn't like it though. It was a tight feeling in his chest, one that made his stomach clench painfully and his face feel uncomfortably hot, like he was coming down with some sort of illness.
He didn't like this place. He - thought that once he united with Alcor, he would be fine with his new surroundings, even if there was the added problem of monsters. But if the administrators of this place, who Aleph implied to be malicious, was powerful enough to weaken Alcor...
It- that is-
What...w-what if he died...?
this thread is hard life is hard stars are hard
He had to take care of him first. Then they could talk about this sort of thing- somewhere else when they both felt comfortable again. So, it was sort of out of left field when Alcor spoke again.
"Are you hungry?"
this kills a man
"...a little."
only one man
May. He sure felt better after he got to experience eating with actual taste buds, but this was Yamato. Unless there was pumpkin takoyaki, it was going to be an uphill battle.
"It's customary that one eat a specific food when they show up, or they will get sick."

"Have you ever had oatmeal?"
unsure if weird sloppy goo-oats is gross or not, starlyfe
no subject
"...yes," Yamato finally muttered, a faint pout on his lips as he reached up to take his caretaker's hand. Hand holding was perfectly fine - just no carrying.
no subject
"I'm sorry." That oatmeal is gross. "There are other things you can eat after the oatmeal, but many of the products seem to be made from pumpkin this month."
Normally he'd just casually walk down, but screw that, he can afford to teleport around in Animus. So with little warning, he bzorted both himself and his notson down to the cafeteria, just shy of one of the tables.
no subject
"How far away is this place from the dorm rooms?" Ah, wait! "Wait, ah, which room are you in?"
no subject
For obvious reasons. However, it took Saiduq a minute to remember his own room number, sad as that was.
"03-04, I believe. I do not spend much time there, as I do not have need of it."
no subject
"...so where is this oatmeal? I may as well get this torture over and done with quickly."
no subject
tl;dr does he have to kill any bitches and whatnot.
Alcor released Yamato's hand and hovered forward in a bit of a swooping motion, popping in to the actual kitchen doorway, and returning with the unappetizing bowl of ick. However, that wasn't all he'd nabbed; there was also a little shaker of cinnamon.
"This may make it more palatable."
no subject
He had bigger problems anyway, like the bowl of gross goo that his caretaker was carrying. He eyed it like it was a bomb primed to explode at any moment, his entire being screaming of sheer 'Do Not Want'. The cinnamon would only make this ordeal slightly tolerable, so he appreciated Alcor's efforts at least...
"Right."
Yamato straightened himself up, holding out his hands expectantly.
no subject
Sorry, Yamato, Alcor's just trying to jitter out some of his nervous body language- he'll get over it
by the time he makes an embarrassing network postsoon."If you are still hungry after consuming it, there is more food. Thankfully, it is in full supply this month."
no subject
He gingerly picked up the spoon, using it to poke the oatmeal suspiciously.
"Does that mean it isn't in full supply sometimes?" Yamato asked, lifting the spoon up and wrinkling his nose when blobs of oatmeal splattered back down into the bowl from it. Iiiick...
no subject
He reaaaaaaally doesn't want to get in to that in any depth 'cos it'd be sort of horrible to explain that they do deprive senses in this place sometimes so-
"There are people among us working to sustain their own food, but it is difficult work. Some also hunt beasts on several of the floors."
no subject
Which was understandable considering monsters just translate to demons in his mind, and they normally exploded in a burst of magnetite upon death. He finally gave a sigh and picked up the cinnamon shaker, putting liberal amounts on the surface of the oatmeal before setting it aside.
Then he stared at the oatmeal.
He was certain it was some malicious, sentient being, because it was staring back at him like an awful abyss. He really didn't want to eat this. So Yamato instead pressed his cheek against the table and stared at the bowl, as if hoping he could magic the food into his stomach without having to eat it.
