Healing Old Wounds
Characters: Hei and you
Setting: Room 3-20, Floor 1, Floor 10
Format: Prose, but I'll match ya
Summary: Hei finds a surprise in his room, starts cooking, and hunts for fish his own way
Warnings: Hei's awesome cooking may make characters drool
Room 3-20
When Hei had woke up, there was something he did not expect to see in his trunk: a black puppy, or rather, a plush toy. He raised an eyebrow, picking it up and looking at it, trying to make sure there were no traps or anything of the sort on it. Patting it, shaking it, close inspections, he was doing just about everything to make sure nothing would end up killing him.
Then he spotted the note in the collar. Pulling it out, he saw who it was from, ignoring the admins' own special words. Kirika...she must have really wanted to help him cheer up, hadn't she? A long road ahead, but with that, Hei was able to at least form a small smile.
Floor 1
Again, one can see Hei enter the kitchen, getting tools and food he had stored away, as well as some fresh food too. Seems to consist mostly of meat and vegetables, so options are limited. Still, he was getting to cooking said food. If one can follow the aroma, perhaps they can be lucky enough to have Hei cook a meal, rather than eat pumpkins.
Floor 10
Hunting the food however is not an easy task. The aquarium however gave him an idea for finding food and a way to gather some bigger food. And what was the best way? Blood. Putting just a tiny bit into the water, predators were already swimming towards him. Mostly small, but there was something bigger behind them. Hei ducked under the other fish, and saw what was behind them. The blood lured only one fish, and the others were fleeing: a shark. Nothing too big, but still quite dangerous.
He stood his ground, drawing his staff and separating it into the two swords. Just as the shark reached him, Hei jumped up into the air, and thrust his blades down through the skin of the creature. It thrashed, only to earn electricity sparking over the area, Hei's power fully killing it once and for all.
With a sigh, he pulls out the swords, and stares at the shark. Technically, he could have killed the whole lot of fish with but a touch, though that would just be an even bigger pain. And who knew what else laid in this aquarium?

Once he caught a whiff of... something delicious wafting from the kitchen, however, his tail began to wag behind him.
That smelled absolutely divine. That, or the oatmeal lowered his standards here.
He skulked into the room stealthily, eyes trailing to the man working on his sustenance. In that instant, he distinctly felt his stomach rumble, gurgling at him for some kind of treat. Why, just the aroma of that delicious food made Shadow want to--
"Prrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..."
... Yes, that. Oops. He couldn't really help that, so that was probably going to give his presence away.

Which is why Hei is more surprised he had to hear that sound of all things.
"...Can I help you?"
no subject
"Hn. I've... not eaten since that oatmeal," he grumbled, ears wilting as he yearned to grab that salty, seafood-smelling grub and chow. His stomach was still snarling at him for satisfaction, and he had to wonder whether or not it was audible to Hei.
He averted his gaze, the floor being a much more suitable thing to stare at, apparently.

"...I see," Hei answered. "Not completely unexpected."
He grabbed a plate, putting the freshly cooked shark meat on the plate. With it perfectly seasoned and such, all that had to be done was for it to cool down. "Be careful, it's still a bit hot," he warned, giving it to the black hedgehog.

[Kitchen]
When his stomach was starting to complain from minimal eating, Gaara grudgingly headed toward the kitchen. He had little enthusiasm for food, and was surprised to pick up a pleasant aroma sifting through the air.
“…?”
He stepped into the kitchen, and then hung back quietly to watch the other man cook at the stove.
Re: [Kitchen]
Gaara's presence was not lost on a trained assassin like Hei. Everyone seemed to be attracted to the smell now. Maybe the last time the lack of food happened, people were more open to having someone cook some food for them; they had to be tired of pumpkin flavored snacks as well.
[Kitchen]
“Do you need assistance?” He offered, even though he didn’t know how helpful he could be. He had cooked with Temari in Suna – or rather, those were his memories – and a few times at the facility, but his overall knowledge was limited.
Re: [Kitchen]
Either one didn't bother Hei. In fact, others enjoying his food was a good thing. But, the more talented people were here, the less time he had to spend here, despite cooking being a favorite thing he loved to do.

The fact the hat had antlers on it was worrying though, nothing good ever happened when he had antlers. He smelled the cooking and peeked into the kitchen; a little wary since there were lots of new people and he wasn't sure if they were all nice or not.
But as luck had it he knew the person cooking, "Mister Hei! What are you making?"
no subject
"Mostly cooking meat for the most part," he spoke. "Patties, steaks, etc."
no subject
"What's a pattie sir?" Romeo hadn't really had much meat before the tower, and he often didn't know what he was actually eating here anyways.
no subject
"Do you know what a burger is? The meat inside is a patty," he answered, flipping it over. "If we had bread, I could make a burger properly."

kitchen;
H-Hi. I didn't mean to bother you, but I thought maybe I could help.
[ RUN AWAY NOW. ]
Re: kitchen;
And considering the offer, he thought it over for a few seconds. Well, he didn't see any harm in the idea...Perhaps the fatal mistake.]
If you wish to do so, sure.
kitchen;
[ Flashing a smile even though she's uncomfortable. ] Are there any extra aprons?

Kitchen;
That aroma already gave it away. Kirika walked into the kitchen to see, and of course there he was.
"Need help?"
no subject
"W-why are you wearing that!?"
no subject
"I don't know. I also got a bucket too."
Clearly it was the tower's doing.

Cafeteria and sorry for the poor hook.
Though, he glanced over at Hei as he was preparing for a meal. The thought of meat was...nice. He came from a culture in which meat was a luxury for most. Sure, a priest got a little more meat on average, but that was still nothing compared to modern times.
But this was clearly something the man had prepared for himself. He could catch something to eat on his own later if the craving returned. Enoch went back to gathering pumpkin seeds on his plate, but didn't consider that Hei might have noticed him looking for a while.

Distracting himself from the smell of cooking meat, still ingrained in his mind as a luxury, with the cooking itself as a topic seemed rather paradoxical. But someone who had meat could hunt. He could find out, perhaps, something he didn't know.

And there's a reason he's hiding round the corner as he doesn't really want to be seen in his Mock Turtle costume. (He is wearing shorts!) So all that's seen for now are the extra ears on his head, a bit of his shell and one flipper.
Re: Floor 1
Hei could tell someone was there, and he was not one that liked being spied on. As if to emphasize that point of nothing was wrong, he pointed to the plate of food next to him.
"If you desire food and have already eaten the oatmeal, I'm not going to stop you from eating this."
