Healing Old Wounds

 Characters: Hei and you
Setting: Room 3-20, Floor 1, Floor 10
Format: Prose, but I'll match ya
Summary: Hei finds a surprise in his room, starts cooking, and hunts for fish his own way
Warnings: Hei's awesome cooking may make characters drool

Room 3-20

When Hei had woke up, there was something he did not expect to see in his trunk: a black puppy, or rather, a plush toy. He raised an eyebrow, picking it up and looking at it, trying to make sure there were no traps or anything of the sort on it. Patting it, shaking it, close inspections, he was doing just about everything to make sure nothing would end up killing him.

Then he spotted the note in the collar. Pulling it out, he saw who it was from, ignoring the admins' own special words. Kirika...she must have really wanted to help him cheer up, hadn't she? A long road ahead, but with that, Hei was able to at least form a small smile.

Floor 1

Again, one can see Hei enter the kitchen, getting tools and food he had stored away, as well as some fresh food too. Seems to consist mostly of meat and vegetables, so options are limited. Still, he was getting to cooking said food. If one can follow the aroma, perhaps they can be lucky enough to have Hei cook a meal, rather than eat pumpkins.

Floor 10

Hunting the food however is not an easy task. The aquarium however gave him an idea for finding food and a way to gather some bigger food. And what was the best way? Blood. Putting just a tiny bit into the water, predators were already swimming towards him. Mostly small, but there was something bigger behind them. Hei ducked under the other fish, and saw what was behind them. The blood lured only one fish, and the others were fleeing: a shark. Nothing too big, but still quite dangerous.

He stood his ground, drawing his staff and separating it into the two swords. Just as the shark reached him, Hei jumped up into the air, and thrust his blades down through the skin of the creature. It thrashed, only to earn electricity sparking over the area, Hei's power fully killing it once and for all.

With a sigh, he pulls out the swords, and stares at the shark. Technically, he could have killed the whole lot of fish with but a touch, though that would just be an even bigger pain. And who knew what else laid in this aquarium?

Trying to earn a place...it was something he could sympathize with. They'd all lost what they meant to their world. Some were lucky enough to have what they meant to one another, still. But some...were their world's sole representatives.

"So you're cooking for the others here."

Someone with worse willpower, someone to whom pumpkin is more common should probably take that, Enoch thought.

"That's kind of you."

"Mm... I suppose that's the best we can do here, find comfort where we can."

Enoch eyed a piece of pumpkin bread uneasily. Should he have some today...?

"I'm glad you were able to find it at all."

"I'm not surprised they have a taste for human flesh." Everything in this tower seemed to, after all... Enoch finally decided against the pumpkin bread and let it fall back into the display. "Perhaps they learned it from the monsters."

"I know." He's been on coastlines, he's seen sharks. "I've noticed they tend to avoid larger animals unless they're bleeding, however."

Or so the stories combined to tell him. Having people talk at him instead of with him was one of the ways he dodged forming close bonds.
