(no subject)

Characters: "Elvenking" Legolas and YOU, tower!
Setting: Backdated to Oct. 11, throughout the tower (just pick anywhere)
Format: Prose to start but will switch
Summary: Legolas woke up dressed as his father, King Thranduil. Including the crown.
Warnings: Nothing but possible mischief

When the prince had awoken this morning, he was dressed in the slightly confining clothes of a figure he knew quite well, one he had known for a few thousand years, in fact. He attempted to remove them but that moment he shifted his attention to take his own clothes, the costume was on his once more, crown included. The type of crown he'd always refused to wear when at home, opting for a more traditional silver circlet.

Well, this was a battle he wouldn't win so he grabbed his swords and strapped them on to go with his costume and grabbed the ridiculous little bucket, looking at it with obvious distaste and went to scour the tower for candy. None of which he would eat because, wow, what the hell were those things? Nothing like that was in Middle Earth and he's not about to try one.

Just when that armored figure stalked nearer, a stray arrow almost struck its helmet. "Legolas!" Out of nowhere, the crimson-clad march warden appeared further down the hall with his bow and arrow drawn. "You must flee! Leave now!" Haldir yelled before racing up the hallway. Not about to allow the Evil Lord of Mordor to claim King Thranduil's sole heir, Haldir put some much needed distance between Legolas and the wicked king.

The march warden always figured he would perish in the defense of Lothlórien; not while defending the Elvenking's son. However, Haldir would rather die for Legolas' sake than allow the younger Elf to suffer at Sauron's hands. This is why the march warden now stands before the Dark Lord with such venomous hate within his blue gaze.

"Away with you, foul specter, or taste the bite of my arrows." Rather brave words for someone who's somewhat trembling with fright. Haldir knows this is a fight he cannot win, but be damned if he won't fight.

... Oh no. Those elves. Gandalf was shared between admiration for their courage in front of Sauron, and a feeling of sadness and pity upon hearing Haldir's word. When you face the Lord of Evil, you do not speak to him with beautiful, well though sentences. You send your arrows, you speak latter.

Ah well, better to tell them. He would take off the helmet to show them who he really was, but knowing his luck the second the helmet is down Haldir would shoot an arrow right through his head. So slowly (because this armor was so heavy) Gandalf would walk to them. He has in hand Sauron's weapon (in fact his staff that has been decorated to resemble Sauron's weapon, in to fit his costume).

With a quick move of the weapon, Haldir's arrow would bend and become unusable, whereas Legolas' blades would become so hot that holding them would feel as though his hands are dying and melting. He needs to be sure they can't hurt him before he starts speaking after all.

Once his arrows began to bend, Haldir's fear nearly gotten the better of him. This is Sauron, the Dark Lord of Mordor. There's no possible way that these feeble arrows could possibly pierce that sickeningly black armor. The march warden felt like a fool to stand before the evil lord, especially since now his weapons are useless.

Tossing his bow aside in favor for his blade, Haldir literally thrusts himself at Sauron in hopes of performing one brave act before he dies. "Auta sii'!" The march warden commanded in Elven as he swung his sword at Sauron. "I can fend him off while you escape!"

No this was not the dark Lord of Mordor. Though admittedly, Gandalf and Sauron were the same kind of being, only with Sauron being much more powerful. He walked up to them anyway, holding his staff, but not pointed at them.

When he spoke, this was with a strong and louder voice. The voice was obviously distorted by the heavy helmet (and probably some of the tower's trick), so they could not say it was Gandalf just yet. Unfortunately.

"You both would be death by now if the Dark Lord of Mordor was indeed intending to kill you while you were standing so close to him."

Sauron could single handedly kill a dozen elves and men per second, after all. A rarely equaled... efficiency, so to say. Hopefully that would calm them down and he could take off his helmet.

It was then when Sauron spoke that Haldir found his resolve quickly waning. He spoke the truth, why would the Dark Lord hesitate to kill them now? If he truly wanted either of them dead, then wouldn't he just use his powers to do so? It's unlike the Black Hand to banter on like this when legends speak of him as a heartless killer.

Now eying the sorcerer with a look of unexplained awe, Haldir slowly lowers his blade. "Who are you?" He called impersonator with a quizzical tone. "Why would you pretend be as someone as vile as Sauron if you're truly not him?" Still intent in keeping Legolas as far away from Sauron as possible, the march warden refused to let Legolas come any nearer. "It would not be wise for you to step too close." He warned the younger elf out of concern.

"Your realm still has much need for an heir."

'Sauron' nodded slowly at Legolas' perseverance. Maybe reckless but still admirable. He would already be dead alongside Haldir if this was the real deal, but at least this was a testament of his bravery.

Same for Haldir really, although his word appeared to have, finally, convinced them. Or at least, if not convinced, they were no longer so certain to be facing the Dark Lord of Mordor.

"Because the tower enforced this joke on me."

this was his answer to Haldir, and he then discarded the weapon. This should be enough for them not to attack him as he took the helmet off slowly (not doubt the helmet would reappear on its own very soon). And who would they see under the helmet?

Gandalf of course.

"I can only hope this at least will remain a valuable lesson for the day the real Dark Lord of Mordor will step foot in this tower."

Haldir's sword clanged loudly against the floor as he raised his hands to his face in mock horror. "M-Mithrandir!?" Does his eyes deceive him? Was it truly Gandalf the White who dons such hideous garbs? The march warden truly couldn't believe his eyes. This was perhaps the most shocking turn of events he's experienced so far.

Taking a step or two away from the wizard, Haldir couldn't believe that he almost taken Gandalf's life just a few seconds ago. "Why would you---?" The march warden happens to be a tad tongue-tied as now. He honestly doesn't know what to say or even think at this point.

How could the Administrators be so cruel as to trick Legolas and him like this?

"Forgive me." He muttered in a low whisper. "I-I did not know."

"Neither of you need to apologize. The only ones at fault here are the administrators of this tower for forcing us through such situations."

Gandalf nodded and looked much less stern and annoyed as he did when he took off his helmet. On one hand, he was very proud. Standing against what they thought to be the Dark Lord? On the other he couldn't help but think to what would have happened if the tower had warped him.

"Your courage is to be commended. However I am afraid the two of you, as skilled and brave as you are, would do better to avoid combat would the Dark lord of Mordor be to set foot in this tower. Defeating him here and now would bring about nothing. There is no shame in fleeing a lost and purpose-less battle. You could not hope defeating him. Not even I could."

He took back the helmet and held it strongly under his arm, as if the thing was trying to get back on his head on its own.

"For now I would simply be content if you could avoid spreading the word I have been disguised into this dark creature."
