Characters: "Elvenking" Legolas and YOU, tower!
Setting: Backdated to Oct. 11, throughout the tower (just pick anywhere)
Format: Prose to start but will switch
Summary: Legolas woke up dressed as his father, King Thranduil. Including the crown.
Warnings: Nothing but possible mischief
When the prince had awoken this morning, he was dressed in the slightly confining clothes of a figure he knew quite well, one he had known for a few thousand years, in fact. He attempted to remove them but that moment he shifted his attention to take his own clothes, the costume was on his once more, crown included. The type of crown he'd always refused to wear when at home, opting for a more traditional silver circlet.
Well, this was a battle he wouldn't win so he grabbed his swords and strapped them on to go with his costume and grabbed the ridiculous little bucket, looking at it with obvious distaste and went to scour the tower for candy. None of which he would eat because, wow, what the hell were those things? Nothing like that was in Middle Earth and he's not about to try one.

Not quite certain what to think of the fancily dressed fellow, Haldir's eyes widen once he realized just who this person was supposed to be. "The Elvenking, here...?" His brow arched somewhat. "Nay, this cannot be." Drawing nearer with every step, the march warden suddenly came to an abrupt halt once he realized who it truly was. "Legolas?" He just stares at the prince with a baffled gaze.
"What is the meaning of this?"
no subject
"Haldir? You are dressed so splendidly that I had difficulty recognizing you." He'd mentally add that red was not a color he could easily see the marchwarden pulling off but already this was a strange encounter with their odd clothing.
"It is no choice of mine that I am dressed this way. I attempted to remove it but it was magicked right back onto me."
no subject
"Aaye, Legolas." He greets him with a slight bow. "It would seem that neither of us could easily recognize each other in such lavish attire." Finally noting how much Legolas truly takes after his lord father, Haldir doesn't quite feel up to teasing the poor Elf. Before him stands the Prince of Mirkwood, not the cheeky young wood-elf who tries his patience.
"Is it wise to assume that this is yet another foul trick played upon us?"
no subject
"I must say, it seems to suit you." The bow gets a chuckle from the princeling, so unused to such formalities after years of barely acknowledging his own position unless with his father or doing some task necessary for leading those in Mirkwood. In fact, the only reminders here in the tower were his crown, Haldir often referring to him as a prince and this costume.
"I believe that it is. I know of nothing else that would force us to dress so. Even Gandalf would not play such a trick on us."

Should Legolas go to the elevator for any reason, he may see a man dressed as an angel kneeling on the floor with a handful of candy. A glance down into the bucket he's tied to his waist will show he's probably got enough for the day, which might explain some things, like why he simply deposits the handful there and straightens up without it.*

Aaye, mellon.

Ah...what was that?

My apologies. I meant to say "Hail, friend" though it came out in my own language.
Ack sorry, I compeletely blanked on checking for hover text x_x
That's okay!

"Well, ain't this cute?" he commented, once Legolas had given up on trying to get changed, examining the plastic pumpkin with a grimace of distaste. Ugly thing it was, and no doubt it'd just get in the way of just about anything he actually wanted to do. "Someone must be bored out of their mind."
no subject
"I hope it is quite entertaining for the one who orchestrated this nonsense." Legolas was glancing at the pumpkin again and shaking his head. It was so ridiculous a trinket, that an elf his age would have to carry it around was terribly cruel.
"As I am sure that others being involved in this will not be at all happy to allow this to go without complaint to the administrators.

He raised a hand as though to pull off the mask -- hell, this thing wasn't any good, he got basically no peripheral out of that side now, how was he supposed to fight like that? But let it fall again. If these things could stay off, he was pretty sure his roommate wouldn't be still wearing that red crown. "I've sure as hell got a few things I'd like to say to 'em, given the chance," he added.
no subject
And he thought correctly, Legolas would have removed the crown if he could keep it off. He really could never understand his fathers fondness for crowns of this style.
"Quite a few of us would."

He blinked at Legolas not recognising him for a moment in the costume, but once he realised who it was he smiled. "Hello Legolas!"

"Hail, Taiki!"

"I did. I hope that it doesn't seem too outlandish. Your own costume is quite--" Adorable, but he wasn't sure if that would be offensive or not. "suiting to you."

There's a little boy dressed in a large red suit following you Legolas. Well, suit wouldn't be entirely appropriate; with the horns and the tail it wouldn't be hard to see him as impish in appearance. It would help perhaps if the boy smiled, but it doesn't appear as if smiling is something the boy does very much of.
"That's quite a grand costume they've given you."
no subject
Instead his gives a bow of his head and smiles.
"Indeed they have though I cannot fathom as to why. Your own costume is quite interesting as well."
no subject
"I suppose they must have at least found it amusing to settle me with it. It's unfortunate but I can't wait until this holiday is over. A pity. It's one of the few I like."

And lo, it is in a hallway leading to the cafeteria that the Prince would meet... The Dark Lord of Middle-Earth, Sauron? The costume was perfectly identical to the real one, even a copy of the accursed one ring was on the man's finger. Little could he know it was actually Gandalf under that costume.
And the truth? Gandalf didn't want anyone to see him in that costume.

He was glad for the blades her had thought to take with him, unwilling to travel the tower unarmed. And if the administrators had truly had a lack of common sense and brought Sauron of all people, he'd not die without a fight.
no subject
The march warden always figured he would perish in the defense of Lothlórien; not while defending the Elvenking's son. However, Haldir would rather die for Legolas' sake than allow the younger Elf to suffer at Sauron's hands. This is why the march warden now stands before the Dark Lord with such venomous hate within his blue gaze.
"Away with you, foul specter, or taste the bite of my arrows." Rather brave words for someone who's somewhat trembling with fright. Haldir knows this is a fight he cannot win, but be damned if he won't fight.

He'd picked up a few candies, too, mostly because he'd seen everyone else doing it, but now he stared up at Legolas and his circlet and swords and tried to figure out whether the ears were glued on or not. Then he realized he was staring. "Uh... hello. Are you from around here?"
no subject
"Hail, young one. From the tower, I'm pleased to say that I am not. I hail from a world called Arda."

He really wasn't sure how to address Legolas, because he generally did not converse with dudes wearing crowns. For some reason, he also couldn't even really tell how old Legolas was. Twenties, maybe? College-age? Sure didn't seem like a college student, though.
Maybe he came from a really rich family, like Mitsuru had. "...I'm from Earth," he said, feeling a little lame and also maybe like he was on an especially surreal made-for-TV movie. WE COME IN PEACE. "My name is Ken."
