(no subject)

Characters: "Elvenking" Legolas and YOU, tower!
Setting: Backdated to Oct. 11, throughout the tower (just pick anywhere)
Format: Prose to start but will switch
Summary: Legolas woke up dressed as his father, King Thranduil. Including the crown.
Warnings: Nothing but possible mischief

When the prince had awoken this morning, he was dressed in the slightly confining clothes of a figure he knew quite well, one he had known for a few thousand years, in fact. He attempted to remove them but that moment he shifted his attention to take his own clothes, the costume was on his once more, crown included. The type of crown he'd always refused to wear when at home, opting for a more traditional silver circlet.

Well, this was a battle he wouldn't win so he grabbed his swords and strapped them on to go with his costume and grabbed the ridiculous little bucket, looking at it with obvious distaste and went to scour the tower for candy. None of which he would eat because, wow, what the hell were those things? Nothing like that was in Middle Earth and he's not about to try one.

*...Okay, so he had to explain angels to someone who wasn't familiar with the word at all. Best, perhaps to start with the basics.*

Angels are servants of God, and the inhabitants of Heaven.

*...How else to describe them? Many things he'd thought of angels had been proven false and many of the new things he'd learned were either forgotten or...not something he wanted to share.*

*At least it was a similar enough system. Good luck getting him to explain Heaven without a base to start from.*

What would you be familiar with?

Hmm... I think the best comparison is... God is like your Eru Iluvatar, and there are angels. Their leaders are a group called the Archangels, which might be similar to your Ainur, and the rest of the angels are likely like your Maiar.

Ah... There is a difference, then. God is the sole creator of my world, and the angels serve Him. So perhaps...He is best described as a combination of your Eru Iluvatar and Ainur instead.

What do your Maiar do?

*It might seem strange at first thought, that a man as pious as Enoch should take interest in divinity divergent from his own. But in three centuries, and earlier rather than later, Enoch would find closemindedness got him nowhere. After all, if the Archangels with him didn't mind, perhaps, then, all gods were aspects of the real one, a natural evolution of worship that worked for each society. His own natural curiosity took it from there.

Even learning there were other beings that could be called gods in Meridian...Enoch still had to ask, to learn just how far the apple had fallen from the tree, so to speak. Even if they were from different "trees" entirely. Old habits died hard. Besides, in a place like the tower, the momentary distraction was welcome.*

Gandalf is...of the divine?

*Okay then. That is most definitely unexpected...*

*Part of Enoch isn't surprised at all about how little it changes. And how much it explains, such as his demeanor rarely changing very much...*

I'll...have to ask him about it, then, you're right.
