Building mailboxes...for love!~

Characters: [au1] Rei Ayanami, Tohko Amano, and anyone else who wants to wander in!
Setting: Floor 15
Format: Prose, but we'll take action as well.
Summary: Having come up with a matchmaking scheme, Tohko and Rei start making mailboxes that they'll use in it. However, will they succeed?
Warnings: Rei might give players some nightmare fuel with her jaw, and there might be some injuries while making these things.

Tohko finally arrived at room fifteen, and caught her breath. Rei's ability to dislocate her jaw was creepy, but she thought she'd finally managed to get past that. Looking around the room, she saw that there were plenty of tools to help get the pair started with their mailboxes-lots of wood, nails, and a few hammers, as well as other materials and tools were scattered about the room. While Tohko wasn't used to physical labor, she promised herself that she'd do her best, and picked up a hammer, pondering how she should start.

"Of course. Just because you have trouble now, doesn't mean you can't still love. And you don't have to fall in love with the same person only once."

Though Rei hasn't dated anyone yet, she's seen enough people falling in love and being in love around her to get some gist of the situation.

"I bet you'll know when you see him. Or if you stay around him long enough, he'll endear himself to you."

"That's true..and yeah. I'll probably know after I've been around him for awhile. Hopefully he'll be a nice guy, like The Master, or The Prince." Tohko smiled as she looked Rei in the eye.

"Thanks. That..helped me out a lot." She said, smiling.

[terreifying]

"Is he here? Maybe you'll even get his letter!"

She's glad that she could help at least one person today.

[tohko_amano]

"None of my friends or family are here." Toko replied. "It'd be nice if Konoha came here though. His stories were always nice to read..even if they were a bit too spicy sometimes. Although..it would be nice to get a love letter in this box." Tohko said happily.

"And Rei, if you ever need help in your love life, talk to me, alright?" It was the least she could do for what Rei had done. Besides, Rei was a nice girl.

[terreifying]

"I've been trying to find Shinji and 'Suka. I'm sure somehow they'll find me and try to take me home. Either that or they'll keep me company here."

Rei shakes her head.

"I think I know enough about my own love life."

[tohko_amano]

"Ah, alright then.." Tohko said. Oh well. If she ever did have problems, the offer would come up again.

"Hopefully your friends will come here and find you soon then. It'd be nice." Tohko replied, smiling. Plus, meeting Rei's friends would be rather interesting.

[terreifying]

"It would be really nice to meet Tohko's friends too. I bet all our friends would like each other."

And if they didn't, Rei would take them on boding exercises.

[tohko_amano]

"Yeah..that would be nice. If they ever manage to come over here, I'll introduce you to them!" She wasn't sure if everyone in the two groups would get along, but if they didn't, she would try to help any issues they had.

[terreifying]

Unfortunately, Rei's definition of "bonding exercises" included killing monsters together.

"What do they look like? I know Shinji looks a little bit like me, but he's got brown hair, just like Mommy and Daddy. Asuka is German and she's got red hair and blue eyes. And then there's a whole lot of people. I think I should get some paper and write a list."

Tohko finished off another mailbox as she spoke. "Let's see..Konoha is about my height with short brown hair, Ryuto is a little taller than me with scruffy light brown hair, Nanase is a really nice girl who's popular with the boys, and Chia..she has short blond hair and is really short." Tohko described the important friends and family members in her life before starting on the final mailbox.

"Yeah..a list might be helpful, but at least I know what your two friends look like now. If I spot them, I'll be able to drag them over to you now!" Tohko chirped happily.

[terreifying]

"And I'll drag any and all of Tohko's friends over if I ever meet them. But I hope Ryuto doesn't flirt with me too much."

Or else she would have to traumatize him for life.

[tohko_amano]

"Thanks..and don't worry. If you run into Ryuto, pretend that you do like him and be really nice to him. For some reason, he likes really cold and sadistic girls, so if you act warm, you won't be involved in his three-timing schemes." Tohko said. That idiot was always causing trouble back home.

Finally, after a few more nails and good whacks, the final mailbox was done. "Alright! I'm finished! All these need now are the locks and we can start putting them everywhere!"

[terreifying]

"Is that so?" The atmosphere of the room seems to freeze over as Rei's tone turns cold. "I don't think that's very nice of Ryuto, three-timing all those girls."

But the coldness goes away when she sees the final mailbox finished.

"I'll need scrap metal for the locks."

Tohko shivered in the cold atmosphere and quickly agreed with Rei. "No, it's not nice of him at all. He seems to enjoy it when a girl gives him a hard time. I keep telling him to stop, but he never listens to me. It's really quite frustrating."

Tohko looked around for some scrap metal, and found a pile of it lying in the corner. She grabbed some of it and handed it to Rei. "Here you go! This room seems to have everything for things like this."

[terreifying]

"Maybe I should talk to him..."

After all, it didn't take very many rounds of "Is there a God" for anyone to listen to Rei, and listen to her well.

"It's a really convenient room!"

Rei starts to bend the metal around with her hands, shaping it into what she thinks is a good lock.

"Yeah..maybe he'd listen to you." Tohko wasn't sure of what techniques Rei could use, but she was pretty sure that if Rei dislocated her jaw,-or something similar-Ryuto might give up on his three-timing. Might.

"Yeah. This room seems to have everything one might want for building things." Tohko replied. She didn't know much about locks, much less building them, so she wasn't sure whether Rei was doing a good job or not. However, she trusted Rei with it.

[ooc: Since Tohko was supposed to have died on the fifteenth, is it still alright if I post this? I'm not sure if it is, and if it's not, I'll take it down. ><; ]

[terreifying]

Rei sticks her tongue out of the side of her mouth, concentrating on her lock. She grabs and hammer and starts using it to help her get the metal into shape.

"We'll need keys for these locks too, right?"

[ooc: maybe it happened shortly after they got done with the mailboxes? they would have split up to put them on different floors?]

"Oh! We will! Let's see.." Tohko had forgotten about the locks, and was glad that Rei had reminded her. After all, locks were pretty useless without keys. She grabbed even more scrap metal and put it on the table in front of Rei.

[ooc: Yeah..I have it in my head that she died late at night after everything here and in any other threads she was involved in happened, but since I wasn't sure if other people would be cool with that, I wanted to ask. Curse my lack of experience with these sorts of things!]

Rei takes the scrap metal and some nails. After some more twisting and banging, she's turned the nails into crudely-done keys despite the fact that it should have been impossible without a blowtorch. Then again, this was the girl who had destroyed a car with a squeaky hammer at one point in her life.

[ooc: It's okay. I have a hell of a time figuring these things out too]

Tohko was pretty impressed with Rei's strength. She didn't know much about keys or locks, but she was pretty amazed that she could make them with her bare hands. Looking over the finished mailboxes, Tohko smiled.

"Now we just need to move them everywhere, and we'll be done." Tohko said, smiling. "I wonder who our first customer will be?"

[ooc: Ah, alright then. Thanks for the help!]

[terreifying]

"I don't know. It'll be exciting to guess, wouldn't it?"

Rei scoops up several mailboxes.

"So, do you wanna go up or down?"

[tohko_amano]

"Yeah, you're right. It will be pretty fun to see who we'll help first!" Tohko picked up the remaining mailboxes, as she wasn't going to let Rei do all the work, and thought for a moment.

"How about down? After all, that is where most of these are going to go."

[terreifying]

"Sure. Then you'll do half the floors and I'll do half the floors and we'll meet here again to see who gets done first?"

[tohko_amano]

"Sure! That sounds like fun! I'll take the bottom floors, and you'll take the top floors. Whoever loses has to do whatever the winner wants them to do! Ready, and go!~" Tohko, all fired up for a challenge like this, spat the words out as quick as she could before running off downstairs. She was a little lucky: The places where she had to dump the books off where all nicely grouped together. The only bad thing was that she'd have to be fast, as Rei didn't have to go as far.

Rei nods, and then starts zipping upstairs. This would be something fun, at the very least.
