Format: Prose to start, but either is accepted.
Summary: Puzzle murders here, puzzle murders there. Nobody is escaping without at least getting maimed. Threads will start being added for each puzzle after the 22nd.

"Magic." She crouches down, ducking her head so that he can see her smiling face. "I can levitate things and people, and when done very carefully it's not hard to transport people without waking them." She was far too cheerful for this whole thing probably but this is what he gets! This is what he deserves! "You didn't answer my question you know."

"I'm not because I can't ask questions after, now can I?" He's actually not sure...why he's stuck in this. Other than the fact she had one planned for him. What shitty lesson was this somehow gonna teach him?

"Okay. What do I have to do to get out?"

"You can ask questions. Your game is a game of choice." She points to the candle. "In a moment I'm going to light this. It will slowly burn through this rope above it. Once the rope is completely burnt through, the guillotine above your head will fall down and...well. Decapitate you!"

"Holy shit, you put me in a guillotine?" Wow, WOW. That's kind of...really fucked up. And he feels his heart get caught in his throat for a moment because this is Rose. It's not Lalonde, but it's still Rose and she's actually trying to get him killed over this. "So I have to put out the candle?" That he probably can't reach, because that would be too easy. "What do you mean choice? Isn't it just really, if I don't stop this I'll die? I hardly see how that's really a choice."

"Well, you could put out the candle sure. But how would you get out of your constraints if you did?" This is Rose, Dave, but remember that she's kind of off her rocker right now.

[knightime]

"Okay. Do I get to know all my choices then? What's my multiple choice. Or do I have to guess it all and hope I make it out with my head attached to my neck?" He's already liking this less and less. The candle had to be lit for what reason? Is this even possible to get out of? Did she set him up for failure?

"Of course I'm going to tell you. It wouldn't be a game if you didn't know!" She stands up. "See, the key to your restraints is in the candle! To get it, you'll have to allow the candle to melt enough to free the item."

So your choice is either chance getting your head chopped off to get that key or stay locked up there for who knows how long.

He almost rather take the chance of waiting for someone, but he's pretty sure Rose would kill him herself if he knocked the candle over if it meant avoiding the guillotine. "Is this some shitty set-up where the candle would burn through the rope before it ever got the key? Because that's pretty fucking messed up." And not something he wouldn't expect, honestly.

"And I highly doubt you'd just let me chill here in this get-up waiting for some merciful soul to get me out of this thing."

"There's no guarantee, but I've tested the time of both candle wax melting and rope burning. You have an okay chance." And to that second question? Well.

"It's not so much that as I would make sure to take the candle with me should you choose to blow it out first."

"Will I even be able to grab the key?" It seems like a dick move if he can't even normally reach the objects and that meant he'd have to figure out how to get it in general. He's...really not expecting to get out of this alive the longer they talk.

"But I'm sure someone can dismantle this thing." And would she really take that chance?

"Of course. I would never dream of rigging this like that. You wouldn't learn anything if I mindlessly killed you after all!"

"About that. I have no idea what I'm learning. If this device is incredibly uncomfortable, than I am not fully aware how uncomfortable this is." Because being a flippant asshole is going to make this better, right?
