Bleh heh heh! Bleck!

Characters: Count Bleck ([personal profile] bleh_heh_heh_bleck), OPEN
Setting: All over
Format: Brackets for me.
Summary: Bleck is trying to avoid mischief. For once.
Warnings: Possible violence from candy collectors/victims?

Anywhere

[Count Bleck had, thankfully, not fallen victim to the ridiculous game of dressing in costume and candy collecting. And he made an effort to avoid those who had been affected for he could see that many had been altered and their minds twisted. He had no desire to involve himself in any of that. And good luck to any who wished to attack him, for the Chaos Heart still protected him.]

Floor 4

[The count sat quietly on one of the couches, gazing outside the window. Though he could see nothing of interest but fog and clouds, it was an improvement upon the scenery inside. And, here, he could think in peace. And his regrets would surface but not a sound would come from him.]

Floor 10 - Aquarium

[That he’d resorted to watching fish to ease his boredom was pathetic. For all the things he had done in his dimension, all his plans, all his hopes for dying and staying dead to be with Timpani and he was here. Watching fish.]
pointerpixl: (I love you too much for this!)

[Tippi is stressed. She's stressed, and weary, and pushed even more emotionally than she expected to be by having to watch people get killed in, if not the most gruesome way possible, then certainly up on the top ten list... and then revived as a warped version of the very thing that painfully crushed them, almost without fail.

From the moment it became clear this was not going to stop with just the first round of "festivities," she withdrew from everything wherever possible -- she hasn't spoken to many people since about the second or third day of significant deaths to avoid inciting bloodlust, and has holed up in her room at any other time.

But even that has become too much, and once she caught herself wondering if the people who were sucked into the Void went through much the same thing as the people being killed by their costumes, she realized she needed to get away from herself for a little while.

Fortunately, fish are good listeners, if nothing else, and are guaranteed not to come at her out of the water (well, almost-- no, no, stop it, Tippi).]

You fish remind me of Captain Gills... Maybe if-- when we go back, I should tell Mario to go check up on him. He grows up so fast...

[Her tone significantly changes after the slightly motherly remark.]

I'm... I'm really scared. Worse even than when I was trapped in that cage and treated like a pet... You must understand, right?

Watching this happen to everyone else... It's awful... I don't want this anymore. I don't want anyone to die!

What if... what if he's involved in it, too? I... I don't want him to die--!

[But almost the second after she says it, Tippi looks genuinely surprised, as though it was someone else doing the talking there. In glancing at the fish, they're as expressionless as ever; she wilts with disappointment, because something was almost within her reach, and then...]

--Ah... Wh-Why in the world did I say that, I wonder...?
pointerpixl: (Okay、only mostly)

[She hadn't noticed Count Bleck there, and practically jumps out of her butterfly-skin when he speaks up, but quickly collects herself.]

No... But that's not-- they shouldn't have to die at all! It can't possibly be much better that they're all coming back wrong... This can't be something for anyone to get used to...

It's so vile! How would you feel if that were to happen to--

[And then she listens again to the accidentally horrible thing that's about to spill out of her mouth, and promptly forces herself to shut up. It's not even because she's totally and utterly confused about this man right now (this time), but because, seeking to destroy the multiverse or not, he is still a person. It isn't the sort of thing any person with dignity and feelings rubs in another's face, however unintentionally.

All of this, occurring in the span of a short moment, is indicated by a brief flickering of Tippi's colors, a little akin to a person turning dead white of embarrassment, and a hesitant follow-up.]

No one should have to die for someone else's gain or pleasure... Knowing how much pain it caused, and all just to repeat it all once more later on...

[Although Tippi's word choice still has a clear, pointed meaning to it, her tone is more subdued, lacking in the bite that should otherwise be there. It never strikes her just how big of a baseless assumption she's making, though...]
pointerpixl: (Well、don't hurt yourself...)

But... someone has to stop this! Nothing will change if we all just say it can't be helped...

[There's a timid, uncertain note to her voice, but it grows steadier as she continues and warms a bit to the idea.]

What if you wait, and wait, and wait, but nothing will ever happen until you decide to stand up and stop waiting...? If it never comes on its own, isn't it true that people will go look for what they want themselves?

[Tippi seems wistful all of a sudden, relaxing a bit -- she barely even noticed she'd calmed down to begin with, but she flutters a little to express it. It feels a bit better to talk about it; Count Bleck, for all his faults, isn't very pushy or aggressive about his opinions, and might even be a little easy to talk to...

...Actually, isn't he a little defeatist? It seems a strange set of traits for a self-styled villain to have.]

That is what the four heroes were doing, as well... My dear friends. Now, it seems the bravest thing of all, even more than facing a terrible man-eating monster, or getting your last Game Over...
pointerpixl: (Even going to all that trouble...?)

[That response gives Tippi pause as she sees the logic in his argument. They don't have any convenient hints to follow, no prophecy or wise magical men and women to tell them what they know...

It sure doesn't stop her from disliking it, though.

In fact, it's downright... irritating. Her disappointment slowly gives way to frustration, equal parts at the predicament and at Bleck himself when her tongue gets the better of her again.

Unassuming, he might be, but this was positively depressing.]

Why do you have to be like that? It's... it seems so miserable! How can you stand it at all?

I'm really trying not to give up... That would be like inviting everything to come destroy me, too... I know what I want now, and it's... it's--

[Wait. What is it? She just had something right on the tip of her tongue, and...

Ugh, again. How vexing this amnesia thing became when she was just on the verge of maybe getting something back...!]
pointerpixl: (A little bedside manner)

[personal profile] pointerpixl 2012-10-30 06:50 pm (UTC)(link)
[She's not sure how to respond to that... although it might explain a thing or two. But then, it can't be possible to just turn your heart off, can it?

It feels wrong to want to ask more, and certainly he wouldn't answer anyway, so she doesn't. Instead, Tippi tries responding to the second remark after a brief period of awkward silence.]

Why is that, I wonder? You are a strange man, yourself, you know...
