Floor Thirteen, 11/03 - Lucifer vs. Vergil
While even entering the Church would, Lucifer assumed, cause some lesser demons discomfort, perhaps even weaken them, it had no such effect on him. More than anything it but annoyed him, to have such a massive reminder of YHWH's continued existence, of his ability to beguile and mislead mankind again and again. That man had seemingly always built houses of worship for God, and would go on and on to do so, bothered Lucifer. They were not needed; YHWH was not needed. Why could man not remember that?
Lucifer stood at the back of the church where the priest's pulpit might be, sitting down on top of the pulpit and crossing his legs, waiting to see when his challenger would arrive.]
Floor 25
[Hopefully, whoever this was, he was able to hold up well in a fight. He'd left all of his weapons in his chest in his room. It wasn't the best solution, but he'd rather Hallelujah not kill anyone.]
[As he arrived on the level, he takes a deep breath and looks around.]
no subject
He smirks a little at Allelujah, hoping the man can provide him with enough of a challenge and entertainment to have made this worthwhile.]
I'm afraid we haven't met in person before, have we? I am Louis. A pleasure, I'm sure.
no subject
[He pauses for a moment.]
This might be a bit strange for you, but... well. I'm not the one you'll be fighting against.
[Allelujah looks over to the side of him, where he can see Hallelujah cracking his knuckles.]
My... ah... other half is the one who wanted the exercise.
no subject
Let him come forward then. I accept his challenge.
no subject
I apologize for him in advance. He's very rude and violent.
[And in an instant, the man's entire expression and posture changes, taking a more casual lean - and a wide, cruel grin. He sweeps his hand over his hair to reveal a golden eye and to recover his grey one. He looks Louis over, and cackles.]
Ahahaha! You're the one I'm fighting? You don't look like much - that damn suit looks fucking ridiculous!
[Who the hell wears purple aside from Tieria and girls, anyway?]
But fine. I've got no problems punching your pretty face in.
[He drops into a fighting stance, wishing for a knife but fine with just beating the hell out of his opponent. This shouldn't take long.]
Since you're the one who called people out, I"ll be generous and give you a moment to get ready to die.

Floor 45 (Glass room) | Naoya, Yu, Lucifer
Lucifer.
Not many people could say they'd got to battle him head on, but not many people could say they had fought Nyx either. If there is any nervousness in Naoya, it is buried layers under his calm exterior and he steps into the room at the exact time they had set up, sword in hand.
He'd be lying to himself if he didn't feel a little bit excited at the prospect of it all. The fights in the tower to protect yourself and others were one thing, but testing one's might against a stronger force, let alone Lucifer, was something else entirely. He knew that both him and Yu had a great challenge on their hands but...
He was intent on winning.
Naoya, if we die, I'm going to kill you and not show my nerd levels for a week.
Lucifer.
Not many people could say they got to battle Izanami either, but at least then it was 'I don't have a choice.' Though would he be lying if he wasn't excited to fight someone more powerful than him again? Yes, he would, and Yu made it a point not to make himself any more than a liar unless it was one of the small things.
Sword at his side, he only briefly glanced in Naoya's direction. The last time he faced someone like this, it was alone. This?
This was going to be fun... and that intent was mutual.
no subject
And he has to wonder which parts of your souls you'll bare before him when you come to do battle with him.
He had been spending his time looking out the glass windows towards the skyline. Or where a skyline would be if it wasn't for the cloud cover and the humanoid monsters climbing on the glass. Truth be told Lucifer found the monsters more humorous then frightening, a slight diversion to keep his attention. But he's glad when the "main attraction" shows up, and he turns to Naoya and Yu, smiling.
"Welcome." He nods a little, putting his hands in his pockets. He might as well be any regular guy. "I should hope I don't need to explain how far this might go."
no subject
"We've come to BARE ALL OF OUR SOULS", they said as they started to strip...okay wait no--"I understand," Naoya simply answers back, knowing that despite the fact Lucifer looks perfectly normal, appearances could be deceiving. He isn't going to let the fact that he might die from this stop him; but also isn't going to do this blindly and relax due to the fact he can die and come back again. No, death would mean they had lost...and as said previously, he had come here to win.
Also stop saying how damn good you looked inside his head, Lucifer. He quickly takes a battle pose with his sword, already the faint blueish outline on the floor foretelling of a Persona that comes forth a second later, standing behind him. Vishnu mimics a similar pose to Naoya, grasping his wand like its user is holding his weapon.
"I'm ready." The voice echos twofold; both his and the Persona's speaking as one.
no subject
Seriously Lucifer, you can stop saying that in both their heads at any time, now."Let's go." He reached out with the other hand, crushing the Tower Arcana as Yoshitsune appeared. Unlike Naoya and Vishnu, Yoshitsune remained silent, lifting one of his blades as it cast Heat Riser in preparation. Might as well start on the prepared side.

Floor 20. Lucifer vs. Sephiroth
He knew that flight wasn't possible on this floor having tried it before, Sephiroth hoped that this would help to keep the challenge fairly grounded at least. Plus there was that interesting crumbling spiral ramp right the way around the tower going up. He'd never been all the way up and around it but if they needed to expand their duel there was that opportunity.
Entering down the staircase from Floor 21, Sephiroth's immense long silver hair was caught in the gusts that wove their way in and around this floor which opened onto the outside. The ends of his leather trenchcoat too were suitably rippled. He didn't venture too far onto the floor in case his opponent would be waiting in ambush but instead waited patiently near to the stairwell he'd come down.
no subject
"It's a wonderful day to die, isn't it?"
no subject
That is, in terms of how grim most of the days of October were compared. Sephiroth of course had no intention that today would be his last, but he knows he would kill Lucifer if needed.
Once Lucifer was acknowledged, as a precaution, Masamune was summoned and gripped tightly at Sephiroth's left side. It's long blade curving upwards, though solid and not wavering at all in the breezes like other such lengthy weapons might inevitably do. Sephiroth approached his opponent but kept a respectable distance.
"Considering, it is brighter than most days of late." He paused. Not about to start this duel just yet. Shining emerald eyes glinted over every detail they could ascertain from Lucfier which might grant him an inkling of what to expect. Natural behavior for a warrior of Sephiroth's caliber.
no subject
He can't help but feel the side of his lips twitch into a smile as Masamune appears in Sephiroth's hand. He doesn't know who this man is, but from the general feel of him - he's interested already. "Beautiful." Lucifer said, nodding a bit towards the sword.
Lucifer took in Sephiroth's body language as well, but it didn't speak to him as deeply as the power inside the man's soul did. And that was what mattered the most to Lucifer.
"It almost seems a part of you, just as any good weapon should be."
no subject
Sephiroth remained still though ready to strike, the prickling, powerful warnings that were being triggered at the back of Sephiroth's mind were doing little to stay the caution that he thought would be the wise idea.
"You're Louis, right?" He pretty much knew already, but one had to be sure really what with the Tower being what it was? Besides he wants to make sure that this really is the guy who put that message up on the network.

Floor 25 Lucifer vs Lancer
[It's with this in mind that he greets the blonde man on this floor.]
Hey, remember that guy challenging people over the network a while back?
no subject
I do. What about him?
[Nope. Not telling you it's him yet as long as you don't recognize his voice.]
no subject
Do you have any idea who he is? Got a duel scheduled with him today.
no subject
I could help you look for him though, of course.

Of course none of them would be worth Lucifer's own power, but that was the point wasn't it? Naoki always had a good idea of the outcome of any battle if he pressed on hard enough. This was completely new territory.
Jittery? Perhaps a tiny bit.
Apprehensive? He could manage.
Ready? As much as he could be.
Excited? Hell yes.
Maybe there should have been a warning stuck close to the stair, because those passing by were going to have a pretty good show in just a few minutes.
no subject
Yes. Sitting in the center of the meadow is the old man, wheel chair and all, head turned to Naoki the moment he appears. And yet there seems something off about the old man, something fundamentally wrong with his appearance. It doesn't seem like it could be too big a thing; on the whole he appears just as he always has. So it might take a moment.
But he hopes you figure out soon what might be different about him, Naoki. It's simple, but striking: for once, the old man is smiling. Thin and a ghost of a smile, but a smile none the less.
"You took a long time." Lucifer said, leaning a bit on his cane. In truth, you hadn't taken any longer than any of the others who had come to fight him, so it's not as if he's been without entertainment. "But I knew you would arrive. You know you're strong after all you've been through, but you need to know more than that, don't you? To know you're strong isn't enough.
You need to know just how strong you can be."
Midday, Floor 44
It's only at midday that she remembers, right, shoot, there was that challenge, and she did say she was going to get involved. She won't back down or be called a liar, not over something as small as...ugh...feeling like death warmed over.
Some quick calculations and a quick message later, and she's scampering off to Floor 44, which is closest to an elevator and has the least chance of randomly destroying things - or people. She's learned her lesson with the property damage, she has.
(Unfortunately, she doesn't know what Floor 44 is. Too bad!)
... Anyway, she shows up, cape and headphones and fightin' gloves on, and Garuda and Norn already out to play. She's nervous as all Hades and almost wishing she had the devil's fuge charm - just for good luck. Still, after that weekend, she kind of needs the fight, and at least it'll be something resembling a fair fight, rather than...Jason.
Look, after Jason, anyone else is a fair fight, okay.]
Forgive me for how late this is
He turns to Asako, hands crossed over his chest. It's a rather grumpy look, all truth be told.]
You're late.
Still. Welcome, King of Bel.
Only if you forgive me for how late I am! /).(\
Yeah, sorry about that - I spent the weekend jailed. [She shakes her head.] Worth it, though. Anyway...?
