haha I never put log titles unless it's idiots abound part whatever
Characters: Waver and open
Setting: Room 1-16/hallways, floors 45, 19, 14
Format: Starting with action but I can match
Summary: 7am waking up in the morning gotta explore the tower
Rating: Uhhhh should be pretty PG
Warnings: Nothing really...
Room 1-16 / hallway
[As soon as Waver is able to move, he jumps up from the bed, desperately looking around. He's also sure to check his right hand, but as there's nothing there, he quickly sees the last few days of calm weren't anything like a dream.
After noticing the letters and reading them over twice, he sets them aside. What's written there can't possibly be true, nothing could destroy the entire world so suddenly. Knowing that is a relief, but, he's still trapped somewhere unfamiliar. He quickly finds his trunk and the contents, swapping that awful bodysuit for a good sensible set of clothes immediately. ...And, underneath those, a book. He bends down to pick it up and turns it over to read the title. The Iliad, that same new but worn out copy. After thinking on it for a moment, he goes back to his bed and sets it under the pillow. That's what Alexander was said to have done, after all, right?]
Floor 45
[An observatory, that's perfect! He can get a good look at what lies outside the tower, maybe even spot where there might be somewhere to get outside. He stands up against the window, placing his hands on it to steady himself as he tries to look out.
He sighs.]
Nothing but clouds, huh...that's useless...
[As he begins to look up again, he shouts, falling backwards and trying to scramble away from the creature which had been face-to-face with him. Even though he was only just pressed up against the glass himself, he's completely forgotten it's there between them and can only stare in horror at the thing staring straight back at him.]
Floor 19
[After exploring the tower, Waver returns to the library. He wants to get through as much as he can right away, but with the size of the library, and there being two, even he knows it will have to be done over a period of time, not all in one sitting. Even so, he goes down the aisles, scanning for anything that looks like like it might contain relevant information. Anything which might give a better understanding of the tower and its intents. If he's especially lucky - maybe a book on magic which he might use to escape.
Going between the rows of shelves with a pile of books in his arms, stacked up to his chin, which he rests on them to keep the precarious stack stead, suddenly he notices something. The section clearly marked 'history' is entirely empty - the section which was sure to be most useful to him. Several books from the top fall from his stack as he whips around to be sure it hasn't simply moved over to the next shelf, or that his eyes are otherwise playing tricks on him. And then he throws the others down, shaking his head and gripping his it with both hands.]
Aah, what the hell?! You're kidding me, right?! Hey, someone forgot to put the books away, you can't just leave a whole section empty...!
Floor 14
[Through the stress of the day, around the time that would be called 'after dinner', Waver heads back to his room and slips a game into the front of his sweater (first checking no one will see, of course). He then goes down to the media room and finds a good corner to wind down and set up Admirable War Tactics.]

He was always a fan of detective fiction, and it just didn't work to use magic in them, there was no mystery if the answer could be 'magic'.
"It's run by the Magus Association itself, so it's the most private of private schools. They wouldn't accept me at first, but they gave in."

Tohko was a book girl. While she loved Sherlock Homes and Lupin, she also loved fantasy stories.
Tohko nodded at that. "That makes sense. What did you do to convince them?"
no subject
He blinked. He'd...never heard anyone talk about books that way.
"I studied harder and showed them how much I could do on my own, simply through effort! They just brushed me off at first because I'm only the third magus of my family. But then they saw how great I am despite it!"
no subject
She then smiled. "That's great! I'm happy that you managed to show them what you're capable of! Hopefully you'll be able to get home soon so that you can continue to do so."
no subject
It seemed like quite a strange comparison to make, but, it made some sense, anyway.
"I wasn't planning to go back yet...I was taking a break in Japan for a while...also I needed to get a job to buy a plane ticket back home."
He sighed. Rider had spent so much of his money on useless things that Waver couldn't afford to go back to England. Well, he could, but just barely.
"More importantly, I shouldn't show my face there for a little while until the repercussions of the war blow over."
His professor had been killed, and while his death wasn't Waver's fault, he had stolen the item sent from Macedonia which his professor had intended to use to summon a Servant. And everyone knew Waver had done it. It could easily be argued it was his fault, if Instructor Archibald had made a contract with Alexander, he may not have died. But Waver stole that artifact and made the contract instead, leaving the instructor to find another. He definitely wouldn't be greeted happily.

Tohko sighed. "I'm sorry...I wasn't clear. I meant when you went back to your home world. But hopefully people will forget about the war and let it all blow over so that you can go home when you get back to your world."
Tohko hoped she was making sense here.
no subject
It had only just dawned on him to think of it that way - and when he did, it really was a great opportunity. If he could go home to the same moment he left, then it could be like suddenly improving in seconds.
no subject
"That is, of course, if you can still use your magic here. Besides, getting stuck here isn't good. The people running the building lie, experiment on you, and put you into horrible games without your knowledge or consent. They can even rip away your free will sometimes. It's not the sort of place anyone would like to visit."
no subject
He hadn't tried yet, he assumed it should work just fine, but since Tohko mentioned it...it's true he might not be able to.

He frowned. What kind of magic could he try? Maybe some sort of alchemy...
no subject
She then watched Waver happily. What sort of spell was he going to perform? Hopefully it wouldn't be too dangerous and destroy the library, but she hoped it would be interesting.
After all, reading about magic was one thing. Seeing it was something completely different.

He certainly didn't mind. The chance to show off was always welcome. He went over to a desk upon spotting an empty glass, apparently left behind by someone doing some research. Taking it in his hands, he allowed the mana to flow through himself and into the glass, distorting it into the first thing that comes to mind - an ox. He set the small figure down. It wasn't anything much, but he had no reason to do anything more complicated, and besides, he would have to take more preparation for much else.
no subject
And then she watched Waver change the glass into a small ox figurine. While it probably wasn't much, this impressed Tohko nonetheless.
"T-that's awesome, Waver! I'm amazed that you can do that!" Suddenly, a thought popped into Tohko's head.
"Hey..can you tell me how to do things like that?"
no subject
He grinned.
"You mean, teach you magic?"
He blinked, considering it. He had been trying to argue the Mage's Association's way of teaching and prove anyone could learn simply through hard work. But then, if she didn't have any Magic Circuits at birth, would it be possible to create one? Or without one, would it be possible to control mana?
"I could try...I can't promise anything, it's usually regarded as 'either you can or you can't' without much hope of learning. But I don't believe our ability is determined at birth, so, something like that should theoretically be the same..."
no subject
Tohko grinned at his words. She didn't care if she would fail the first time or didn't have any magical power. Just trying and learning a little bit would be wonderful. It was like she was in a fantasy story.
"Thank you so much, Waver! Even if I don't have any magical ability, it would be nice to try and see if I can! Thank you so much!"
no subject
It's just what happened to him, after all.
"It will be a good experiment to add to my thesis. If you can learn anything at all, then there's no way anyone could laugh at my paper again."
no subject
However, she sighed when he mentioned his paper. "I don't mind you recording this..but don't treat me like an experiment, alright?"
no subject
"Ah, sorry, I didn't mean it that way. It will be useful to treat as a research experiment in writing, that's all. I couldn't say 'she asked so I taught her', no one would accept talking about magecraft to an outsider for that reason."
no subject
"Ah, I get it. It'll help out your paper and cover your hide if someone back at your world asks why you taught me magic. Don't worry about it. That's fine."
After all, she didn't want him to get in trouble if she did manage to learn something. And it'd be terrible if they found out and managed to alter her memories somehow.

no subject
"Hopefully, it'll be three. And I'm not a bad student. I'm not that good with math, but I don't fail my classes. Please, teach me whatever you can remember."
Tohko thought for a moment. "Although..it might be better to start at the basics. And I don't think they have any magical texts here. At least, not that I've noticed."
no subject
Math definitely wouldn't be a problem, he trusted someone who liked to read would have the concentration needed, that was the most important thing.

no subject
He paused, considering it once again.
"Though it's possible you could have one, or maybe even to create one with enough work. Other magic could possibly be used to assist that..."
