[V/V is glad that she can simply fly over the hedge maze - it makes spending time in the garden so much easier. The wonderful plants and flowers here were one of the things she liked best about the tower - as scary as it was, it was still alive.

Hm, but there weren't many people who stopped on this floor to smell the roses, right...?

Anyone who makes it out of the hedge maze will see that V/V is on her knees carefully uprooting flowers from the ground and gathering them into her arms.]

[Later, V/V will be walking around knocking on each room in the dormitories. Yes. All of them. When the door opens - if it opens at all - she'll smile and pick out one of the flowers from the large bundle she's carrying.]

Would you like a flower?

[You can also catch her in the hallway before she moves on to the next room.]

[V/V nods and comes inside to leave two flowers on the nightstand of the bed, before exiting.]

I hope he likes them.

[Ankh steps aside to let her do that, leaning back against the door and watching slightly suspiciously. It was just about flowers, right?

He makes an uncaring kind of snort in response to V/V's statement. But before she exits completely...]

It's V/V. What's yours?

[You cannot be rude enough to V/V that she will care. Her love interest threw her out the window. A lot.]

Ankh.

[Don't tell him that, he'll take it as some sort of challenge No, he's not feeling any less curious about the girl. Even knowing her name. Even knowing she's an "angel". It's the wings, really, is what it comes down to...]

Can you fly with those?

[He jerks his head slightly and looks to her wings, as an indication of what he's talking about.]

[She nods.] The ceilings are low sometimes in the tower, though.

[He nods, as though he understands exactly what she means.]

Have you found places where your wings don't work?

[heavenscorpse]

Uh-huh. Some of the floors won't let me fly. Especially the outside ones, or else I could just leave.

[birdinthehand]

[He frowns. So it wasn't just him...]

Leave... there doesn't seem to be much out there to leave for.

[heavenscorpse]

You don't know until you get a good look. And it wouldn't be the first time I've lived somewhere dead.

[birdinthehand]

Oh?

[He looks curious and skeptical in equal measure.]

Tch. What's the point of living somewhere dead?

[heavenscorpse]

When you can't live anywhere else, life is still precious, isn't it?

[birdinthehand]

[He gives a non-committal huff and looks away. But the expression on his face isn't as withering or displeased as before.]

Better than the alternative.

[heavenscorpse]

Right. I'm glad people think so.

[birdinthehand]

[This conversation is getting entirely too... something for his liking. Another one of those huffs and he pushes away from the door, heading for the bed on the far side of the room that's draped in red silk.]

If you don't have anything else to leave, go.

[And he tosses himself down on it, arms behind his head, staring at the ceiling.]

[She nods her head, waves, and moves onto the next room without fuss.]
