[V/V is glad that she can simply fly over the hedge maze - it makes spending time in the garden so much easier. The wonderful plants and flowers here were one of the things she liked best about the tower - as scary as it was, it was still alive.

Hm, but there weren't many people who stopped on this floor to smell the roses, right...?

Anyone who makes it out of the hedge maze will see that V/V is on her knees carefully uprooting flowers from the ground and gathering them into her arms.]

[Later, V/V will be walking around knocking on each room in the dormitories. Yes. All of them. When the door opens - if it opens at all - she'll smile and pick out one of the flowers from the large bundle she's carrying.]

Would you like a flower?

[You can also catch her in the hallway before she moves on to the next room.]

Right, because then maybe some of them will like them.

You're probably just gonna end up with the door slammed in your face a lot, y'know.

...well, I wouldn't mind taking one off your hands, anyway.

That's okay. If one person likes them then it was worth it.

[She hands over a single flower.]

[prayed]

[She takes the flower, shifting awkwardly and not quite meeting her gaze as she asks her next question. It's not something she's used to asking. It's just a whim, really, if a bit of a random one.]

...oi, why don't you come in for a few minutes?

[heavenscorpse]

Okay, if you want me to. I don't have a lot of things to do besides give these out.

[V/V steps inside the room. It's about as nice as any other room in the tower.]

Heh. This place is surprisingly boring at times like this.

['Times like this' being times when there's no messed up twists on holidays or whatever. She's starting to not mind that so much.]

I like it boring. People are happier here when bad things aren't happening.

[prayed]

Sure, but it's also when they make the worst decisions. Funny how that works, isn't it?

[heavenscorpse]

People always make silly decisions - at least, that's what I've seen.

[prayed]

Ya got me there. Well, I guess there's no helping it.

[She offers a noncommittal shrug.]

Mmhm. People are people and that's fine the way they are.

[Smile!]

[girl how can you say that so casually?]

Don't ya think it'd be better if they'd would use their heads every once in awhile?

Yes. But they're still amazing even if they don't.

[prayed]

'Amazing'...?

[Kyoko blinks. She hasn't heard someone say something like that in awhile. It's not a word she would use to describe humans either, least of all those who make stupid decisions, so it catches her off guard.]

Mhmh. I think everyone who's a human has a special gift. It's lucky to be something so special like having thought and free will, and being able to do so many beautiful things.

[prayed]

[She feels like she's heard this kind of speech before or at least something similar.]

What, does your kind not have that sorta thing or something?

[heavenscorpse]

That's right. I had to absorb the ability to think, or else I'd still be like a plant with no thoughts at all.

[prayed]

[Admittedly that isn't the answer she's expecting. The idea of anyone absorbing something like that is foreign and vaguely concerning. She doesn't even stop to think about her next words before blurting them out.]

What the Hell? How do ya absorb something like that?

[heavenscorpse]

Well, when you take a parasitic plant and have it surrounded by the concept of Liners, it, um... Basically, when you build a city on something that naturally absorbs things, it takes in thoughts and learns how to think for itself. And that's how "I" [she uses the finger quotes] got here.

[prayed]

So cause of that you think having free will or whatever is the greatest thing ever, huh? You're a pretty strange one, y'know. If I got some new, super-cool ability, I wouldn't even waste a second admiring people who were just lucky enough to be born with it.

[heavenscorpse]

-but, free will isn't exactly like that. Doesn't being made out of other people's thoughts just mean I'm not my own person? Real people are still better than fake people, like me.

Nah, if you've got enough of a mind to think about something like that then you're real enough. Those thoughts became yours the second ya absorbed 'em, y'know.

You really think so? Thank you.

[She perks back up again.]
