2nd Mission

[tempus_scorpius]

Characters: Rolo Lamperouge and YOU
Setting: 7th floor (Swimming pool),14th Floor (Media/game room), 28th Floor (Music room),
Format: Both are fine. I'll follow.
Summary: Rolo's just wandering around the tower, feeling rather bored.
Warnings: He won't bite unless provoked.

[7th Floor (Swimming pool)]
It was a spur of the moment thing really. Killing monsters gets rather boring after a while and Lelouch hasn't given him anything specific to do, so here Rolo is at the swimming pool. He examines it for a bit then decides to go for a swim after finding suitable swimwear in the lockers. Anyway, he had to keep himself in top condition for whatever might happen next. He's now quietly doing laps round the pool, concentrating on nothing but his own movements.

[14th Floor (Media/Game room)]
After his swim, Rolo ends up in media/game room. Once again, he examines everything in the room carefully. It's a force of habit from all his training. He just won't take unnecessary risks. Then he settles on a shooting game which he goes through rather mechanically with his perfect aim. He doesn't understand how this is fun. However, it feels somehow reassuring to be given an objective and a mission so he continues 'playing'.

[28th Floor (Music room)]
Finally, Rolo make his way to the music room. He is somehow drawn to one of the pianos and runs his fingers over the keys. During that year of fake memories, his older brother had taught him how to play a bit. He wonders if Lelouch would continue teaching him if he asked. Should he ask?

After a long pause, he sits down and starts playing some very simple tunes rather hesitantly. Somehow he feels a little happy.

[ Hmm.. give her a moment, she's thinking. She's always a little slow in her blankness either way. ]

It's not strange to like it, is it..?

I don't know... I guess it isn't.

There's nothing wrong with liking music.

[chainsawn]

That's right. It's since music sounds so nice, and.. I think your music especially sounds nice. It's very soothing..

[tempus_scorpius]

... it sounded soothing...? Music I made?

[chainsawn]

Uh-huh, I think it did. [ She seems honest - or at least, her expression doesn't indicate she's lying or making fun of him, it's just blank. ]

I'd like to hear more of it..

[tempus_scorpius]

[Yes, she doesn't seem to be lying...]

... more...? But I... I don't really know how to play more. I only learnt a little bit.

[chainsawn]

.. You only had a few music lessons? [ she tilts her head, thinking about it. ] Why..? Did you quit since you thought it wasn't fun?

[tempus_scorpius]

Because I died.

[chainsawn]

[ ... Ah.

If it was anyone but Urotsuki, they might find it weird that he can say it with such a straight face.. but she doesn't seem to find that part too weird, she's just pausing since she realises what he just told her. ]

You.. died..?

[tempus_scorpius]

[he just nods]

[chainsawn]

But.. people who die aren't here anymore, right? People who die.. they can't come back to life, but.. you're standing here, you're alright.

[tempus_scorpius]

This place brings people back to life. Did you not know that?

[chainsawn]

[ she shakes her head, but she looks pretty interested now. ]

How do they do that? I.. need to know.

[tempus_scorpius]

I don't know.

[chainsawn]

.. Who do you think I should ask about something like that..?

[tempus_scorpius]

The administrators most probably.

[chainsawn]

Ah.. I've never spoken to them before. But.. during the summer, they were really scary.

[tempus_scorpius]

This summer, you mean? How?

[chainsawn]

They did something bad to us back then..

[ She holds both her hands together behind her back, and there's something.. different about her, almost as if she's nervous or awkward, maybe she just doesn't really want to talk about it. ]

[tempus_scorpius]

Worse than what happened at Halloween?

{Too bad Rolo is not really one to care about other people's feelings...]

[chainsawn]

They.. [ .. ] They killed.. someone important to me. Someone really strong and bright, someone who shouldn't have had to die.. They locked us up and made us play games against each other, and the losers had to die..

[tempus_scorpius]

I see... Someone important...

[he is silent for a moment] Did they set the winner's free though?

[chainsawn]

After it was done.. they did. I'm still alive, after all..

[ Well, she died during the whole Halloween business, but that's a seperate event altogether. ]

You died as well then? After him?
