6th Recipe - Scrambled Eggs [Open]

Summary: Finding the issue with the languages, Kazumi decides to use the universal language: food!

[Kazumi had never really thought that much before about the fact that everyone here could talk to each other... but now, suddenly they can't! Somehow, the Tower sounds noisier than ever as all the talking becomes a cacophony of different languages. Still, people would need to eat so... maybe they could all agree on that at least, without a need for words? Whipping up an array of dishes - casserole, curry, pastas... all unfortunately kind of orange due to the weird food dye this month - Kazumi was keeping busy. Of course, the newest addition to the kitchen wasn't helping]

Ah, Toto! Don't play with that!

[Unfortunately, the cat didn't understand Japanese any better than the kitchen workers today, so the scruffy black critter was happy to push over the canister of sugar and spill it all over the floor.]

Well, yes, I am a Briton so naturally I speak The King's English, but the Holy Grail War took place in Japan. I needed to be able to blend into society, so I spoke Japanese.

Ohh! How worldly! Eheh, I only speak a little English, so it's a good thing you speak Japanese or we wouldn't be able to talk at all, huh?

Wow, though to think that took place in Japan... why there? It seems kind of out of place!

I also know some of the Frankish tongue.

As for why Japan? There is a major leyline conjunction in that area, making it ideal for the Heaven's Feel ceremony. A Holy Grail War is to be fought there every sixty years.

[Finished cleaning, Kazumi sets every back up and gets back to cooking; hopefully Saber doesn't mind keeping an eye on Toto]

A leyline... that's a magic thing, right? Wait, there's been more than one of these wars?

...French. [Saber had to think for a moment to find the modern name for the region.]

I have only participated in the two Wars, both in Japan, though I cannot rule out the potential of other Wars in other locations.

Oh! Eheh, I don't really know any of that, just English and a little Italian.

Wow, to think there's been many of them... and they each have their own grail?

I am not versed in the magic of it well enough to answer that. [Magic is not the way of a king.] You would need to ask one of the magi for an answer to that.

Huh... the "masters", right? Oh right, there are some of those here, aren't there? Hmm...

But, some of them might have been your enemies! Are there ones here I should watch out for?

Stay away from Caster's master, Ryuunosuke Uryuu, and leave Rin Matou alone. I suggest asking either Irisviel or Illya von Einzbern or Waver Velvet.

Oh, I met Irisviel recently! Eheh... she's really nice.

She is. [Saber gets a soft smile on her face as she pets the cat.] She is my princess.

Oh? Your real, actual princess? Heheh... I can really see that, with you as her handsome knight!

As close as one can get without being royalty. She is my princess by choice, not by lineage.

Wow, that's so wonderful. It must be nice to have her here, where you can protect her.

[The knight seems lost in thought, looking down at the cat.]

[Kazumi doesn't really get it]

Irisviel is from the first Holy Grail War I was summoned to. She did not survive.

[Saber's voice has a disquieting detachment from those words.]

Oh no... I'm so sorry to hear that.

So then... this is the first time you've met her since then, huh?

That is correct. I had believed I would never see her again.

[starofpleiades]

I guess... sometimes this tower can make good things happen, huh?

[scorchedchivalry]

Yes... But they are much like a double-edged sword. This place has given me Irisviel back, but it can also take her from me again.

[Or cause Saber to fail her princess again...]

I see... that's true but... I think, it's better to have the opportunity to see her again, even if it means you might lose her again, then never to see her at all!

Perhaps. [Saber sits down and scritches the cat behind its ears.]

[Kazumi smiles an turns back, lowering the heat on the curry; it's just about ready!]

Hmm... so do you know all the Servants and Masters here?

Most of them. Some are not from the two Wars I've been in. I believe I have at least met all of them, though.
